— Ace Shaking my head.
The military -- I don't jump at the chance of faulting the military, but, like any operation, it's filled with incompetence -- decided this guy was a Solid Citizen posing little-to-no security risk and could and should be trusted with our top secret military and diplomatic communications.
One day after being sentenced to 35 years in prison for the largest leak of classified documents in U.S. history, the Army private the world knows as Bradley Manning issued a statement about who she really is. "As I transition into this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me. I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female," Manning wrote in a statement read on the Today show. "Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition. I also request that, starting today, you refer to me by my new name and use the feminine pronoun (except in official mail to the confinement facility)."The letter is signed Chelsea E. Manning, and thanks supporters for raising awareness of her case.
Manning is likely to serve her time at Fort Leavenworth, which doesn't offer hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery to prisoners, as reported by Courthouse News. David Coombs, Manning's lawyer, was not sure if Fort Leavenworth would offer Manning hormone therapy, though he said on Today that he was "hoping" the prison "would do the right thing."
"If Fort Leavenworth does not, then I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure they are forced to do so," Coombs said, according to the Today website. It's not clear whether Manning will be imprisoned in the male or female population. In U.S. prisons in general, transgender inmates are typically classified by their officially assigned gender, rather than the gender with which they identify.
Below, a picture that's either of Chelsea Manning or Claire Danes in the upcoming season of Homeland.

Concur.... when you self segregate just so you can be in a Discriminated Minority? You set yourself up for a perpetual battle against an imaginary opponent.... which you cannot win as there IS no discrimination except what is in your head....
But who would have thought... that the T in LGBT stood for TRAITOR...

Is this a play to insure solitary so his gentle self won't be potentially harmed?

I'll never understand why this punk didn't face a firing squad. It would have been the merciful thing.

Look, I don't want to be a dick and "not that there's anything wrong with that" blah-blah-blah, but let's stipulate a few things...
1. The military does important work for the nation.
2. The military has secrets.
3. Bad guys want to get those secrets so they can keep our military from succeeding at its missions.
4. Bad guys throughout history have used the sexual peccadilloes of the other side's people to gain access to secrets through blackmail.
How exactly then does someone with the obviously "confused" sexuality of Bradley Manning get in a position to gain possession of important classified information? I mean... don't we vett our guys at all anymore?
Fail.

Does the military to pysch evals anymore? I was in decades ago USAF ( ya stop giggling) anyway , I was an Aircraft Maint spec, worked on Tankers and Bombers B52. We had to be HRP Qual ( human reliability program ) had to psych evals, the Rorschach test was always done every few months. I thought they were retarded then cause of the blots looked like well....
So I am guessing if manning was a nut like he claims how did he pass the evals? Was he given evals? if he was then they obviously dont work. Or he is playing for sympathy to get out early.

They're suggesting that one can pick which gender they are on a whim, with the rest of society expected to accept their choice without question.
If someone goes all out with a sex change, hormone treatment, etc, then fine- I'll play along and refer to him/her/it with the pronoun fitting their new appearance.
But if a dude wakes up one day, puts on a wig and makeup and declares he's now a woman? No. He's just a man in drag.

I tried to sabotage the enlistment of a psychiatric patient who's a huge fan of Josef Stalin and said we need mass executions and death camps here. His mother made him a copy of Stalin's trademark jacket, which he wore to school with authentic Soviet army boots. For his high school graduation, he wore a hammer-and-sickle tie pin.
He told me he wanted to join the infantry so he could kill people, and he said he didn't differentiate between combatants and noncombatants. Killing children in Afghanistan wouldn't bother him, since the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim. He loves the Russian Spetsnaz because they don't care how many hostages they kill in their "rescues."
Finally, he said he'd devote his life to helping the Russians develop weapons to defeat American weapons.
After promising me anonymity, the recruiters called his parents the same day and told them what I'd said, resulting in the kid's father threatening to murder me. When I went back to confront the recruiters, they got hostile and said they knew army material the second it walked in the door, so I had no business telling them their job.
The kid in question lied on his application form about his psychiatric treatment, but I was told by another soldier that the recruiters passed the kid through as a "fuck you" to me. Also, the kid is a member of a protected ethnic class.
They put him in the Chemical Corps. He's been trained in nuclear, chemical, biological, and radiological weapons. To get him through the training, they assigned him two "battle buddies." It's a new system that allows the army to keep incompetent or crazy soldiers who would've been discharged in earlier years.
I expect we'll be hearing about him soon.

But this was my response and I am going to write all of my elected representatives, the crap-weasels (I am talking to you, Marco):
"Thanks so much for this personal email!
I have no intention of donating to the RNC until...until you, as Speaker of the House and the majority branch of government for the GOP, stand up to Obamacare, blanket amnesty without protecting the borders, the "non-scandals" of the Benghazi terrorist attack, Fast and Furious, NSA, IRS, name your scandal, etc.
You can make a difference. When I see this I will donate. It is called courage as well as doing the job you were elected to do, which I see little of by our GOP in DC."

True as far as it goes, but it goes further. The current toleration argument is that once mere homosexuality is no longer a source of public humiliation, the blackmail opportunities will fade.
People who really, really don't like homosexuals say that there is something more than that, an underlying attitude of sly defiance ("Gay" after all is a shortened form of the Victorian "Gay Deceiver") that makes all such habitues a poor security risk, at the least. Now, some think this is just a by-blow of having to bo about on the down-low; others say it's in how you get converted, and there are those who say you go gay because of that character flaw. And the Pope says, Who am I to judge?" which is kind of a hell of a thing for a Pope.
I would say I'm torn on this, but we ain't goin there. I do strongly feel that among young gays of today there is a great deal of rah-rah joinerism, a veneer of attitude largely unconnected to basic urges or biological principles. IMO about 99 of 100 of recent recruits to The Cause are mad at Mom'n'Dad, and little else. This may make them little different from many young people of several persuasions, but it certainly does make them poor security risks.

No. What they're doing--according to the photos I've seen--is giving him a special "retard" uniform so that the instructors can keep an eye on him.
You wondered why the military kept Major Hasan after he became an open supporter of al Qaeda? Well, the army is doing everything in its power to keep this mental patient in its ranks to "preserve their diversity."
He isn't being allowed to be alone with his hazardous materials, but he's been trained to use them and he has access to them.
It's a completely perverse guarantee that something horrible will happen, and there's no stopping it. My conversations with the recruiters convinced me that the rot is systemic now. It was very sad, because I used to be an unconditional supporter of the armed forces.
Now I realize it's just another left-leaning, PC bureaucracy.

Reality doesn't care what you "think".
I read an article about how the Olympics were having to deal with all the "edge" cases on this. In short, it's not so simple. There are XXY people, there are people who are XY, but due to certain types of genetic diseases are really XX.
They weren't even taking into account all the "preferences", it was only a purely scientific categorization attempt.
What they came up with was a person's natural "unenhanced" testosterone level. If you take all the people in the world and looked at their testosterone level, there is a stratification effect. Two distinct clouds of levels. So if you're in one cloud, you compete with the women. Another cloud and you compete with the men. This is unenhanced of course. If you were taking hormones you are disqualified, period.

My figure was out of date. It's up to 40 percent now.
"However, the military is not for everyone. Fully 40 percent of recruits who enlist in the military today will not complete their full term of service. While many discharges will be for reasons beyond the recruit's control, such as medical problems that develop after joining the military, as a First Sergeant for 11 years, I found that a significant number of the involuntary discharges we imposed on first-term recruits was because they simply stopped trying -- they discovered that the military wasn't what they thought it was going to be."

The "New" US Army
1.) Cross-dressers are cool, especially in highly sensitive Intelligence positions
2.) Jihadis can engage in "workplace violence" and get away with it
3.) Catholics and Evangelists are considered to be "extremists".
4.) Women can join Combat Arms due to standards and training, that were designed to produce combat-soldiers who could win wars, being eviscerated.......

It broke my heart to hear this pot-bellied recruiter tell me that I didn't know my own relative, a kid I held in my arms when he was a baby. This fat bastard felt nothing but contempt for me because I wanted to spare my relative and our nation unavoidable catastrophe.
Though not a vet, I always loved the armed forces. The experience with my relative has left me deeply disillusioned. At least three levels of the recruiting apparatus colluded to allow a dangerous psychiatric patient to enlist, and then they gave him one of the hardest jobs in the army.
All because a civilian dared to tell them that the kid wasn't fit for service.

It gives me no pleasure to talk about this, but as patriotic Americans who want the best for our country, you should know the truth.
I tried to keep a dangerous psychiatric patient out of the army, and this made recruiters so angry that they greased the skids for him and then put him in the Chemical Corps. They sneered at me, belittled me, but even worse refused to do a background check on him. All they had to do was look at his high school records to see that he was excused from certain activities because of his mental illness, and he'd taken medication that is an automatic, permanent disqualifier for service.
Because they were angry at me, they colluded in falsifying his enlistment application. They not only took him in, they then gave him the keys to the mental-patient kingdom by putting him in the Chemical Corps.
He hates America, hates Americans, wants to kill people in huge numbers, and wants to see the US defeated in combat.
Now he's trained in the manufacture and use of WMD.

From memory, the 30 percent figure is from a study conducted by the Pentagon in 2010.
It took me a while to find it, and I've sort of lost interest in the whole thing. If people want to delve into it, they can.
My own experience trying to keep my relative out of the military forever changed my perception of the armed forces. When I joined Military.com to ask for advice, 100 percent of the responses were violently hostile, telling me I had no business "interfering" and that the army would make a man out of the kid. I was called every name in the book. Fuckwad, asshole, fag--you name it.
It was pure tribalism at play, the inevitable "us-versus-them" mentality that comes form having an all-volunteer force.
The people on Military.com hated me for trying to save my relative and the country from disaster. None of them cared about him as a person. All they cared about was that a civilian puke was sticking his non-military oar in.
So I await the inevitable atrocity my relative will commit, and everyone in the military will then wring their hands and say, "How'd it happen?"
It'll happen because they put the tribe ahead of the nation, and a bunch of fat recruiters falsified documents to allow a mental patient in.

And do you wonder why that tribalism exists?
The Military is the only true Darwinian culture on the face of the earth... you literally Win, or DIE.... and we have 5000 years of written military history telling us what works and what does not.
Now, however, Civilians feel free to tell the Military how to fight... how to live... and are destroying the very traditions that make the military effective.
From Women in Combat.... to Gays... to Military Law... hell... back in the 80's they tried to forced 'Total Quality Management' onto the military.... I have no idea how many hours I wasted hearing about 'Vision Statements'...
All of this is GETTING PEOPLE KILLED.... and we know it... it is making a LESS effective military....
Add in the Fact that the Military has been at war for 12 years.... but the US is not????
Yes.... Defensive and Tribal.... accurate description of a Society under attack... whose leaders won't fight for it.... and whom are under orders NOT to fight back...

Hey, you know what else gets people killed and makes for a less effective military? Letting psychopathic mental patients into the armed services, giving them access to and training them in the use of CBRN, and steamrolling past all the obvious warning signs out of vulgar tribalism and a need for warm bodies and 'diversity'.
That gets a lot of people killed. Usually fellow military servicemen. But hey, make your excuses if you must. Let's just pray this particular time-bomb doesn't explode on our watch.

The supply sergeant in my old unit, the 82nd, did time at Ft. Leavenworth for manslaughter, killing a guy in a bar fight when he was a private stationed in Germany in the Sixties. He later got an early release back to active duty for volunteering for combat duty in Vietnam, and from there began making a very slow climb back up the career ladder. According to him, prisoners do (or did) hard labor at Leavenworth, working in a gravel quarry, making little rocks out of big rocks, mainly with hand tools: pick, sledge, wedge, shovel, wheelbarrow.
I don't imagine things have changed all that much at Ft. Leavenworth. It's a hard place where hard men do hard time. Whatever Manning is thinking prison life at Leavenworth might be like, he's about to get a very rude awakening. I'd feel sorry for him-- and would for about anyone else--but traitors deserve no pity.

He has a complete flatness of affect that any recruiter should've seen from a mile off. Classic sign of dissociation that these people go into when they commit their atrocities. He talks like a robot and is always expressionless.
When he came out here from Missouri on leave, he told his mother he wanted to see me. I told her that he's now a grown man in the army. If he wants to see me, he can fucking well ask ME, not his mommy. I also told her that after the two shitty, taunting e-mails he sent me, if it was his plan to strut around in his uniform and tell me how wrong I was, I'd explain to him in detail why I did what I did, AND I'd give him my impressions of the kind of soldier he is, based on the photos I've seen.
He came out here and went back to Missouri without contacting me.

Why isn't the same afforded to the sicko who wants to live his life as a My Little Pony character?

Now, however, Civilians feel free to tell the Military how to fight... how to live... and are destroying the very traditions that make the military effective. >>>>>
The pot-bellied recruiter had a Combat Infantryman's Badge. He was the same ethnic background as my relative. My relative's father is a veteran who lied about his service. He claims to have been a sapper and has a red tab decal on his truck. He's functionally illiterate. As far as I can tell, he was in an engineering motor pool.
But he and the recruiter bonded, and the recruiter waived all the requirements for my insane relative. It was a SOLDIER who did that, not civilians. It was a SOLDIER who told me, "Hey, I'm not fuckin' Sherlock Holmes. I can't go running around investigating every accusation made by someone who might just hate the army."
My relative's alleged former sapper father is fifty-four years old and works as a stockboy at Sam's club, making $7.80 an hour. I've published seven books, four about the military.
The stockboy won the day because he's part of the tribe.
