I had intended to liveblog this but I got distracted. He isn't distracted. He's on it.
The hearings have been featuring some news in the past hour.
1:19 pm Rep. James Langford (R-OK) asks Hicks and Nordstrom whether security was adequate at Benghazi. Answer from Nordstrom: No. They did not meet the minimum standards. Nordstrom testifies that only the Secretary of State can grant waivers for facilities that do not meet the minimum standards. ThatÂ’s BIG....
1:24 pm Rep. John Tierney (D-MA) gives speech saying that we must learn from Benghazi so that it does not happen again. Democrats continue the pattern of talking at rather than asking questions of the three whistleblowers. Tierney continues the pattern of isolating and attacking Rep. Issa, bringing Alinsky tactics into the U.S. House of Representatives hearing on a terrorist attack that killed four Americans.
Tierney accused Thompson of not making himself available to the State Dept.’s ARB investigation. Thompson corrects him — he did make himself available but the ARB did not interview him.
Tierney now playing a video of DNI James Clapper defending Hillary Clinton. Democrats defend Democrats — big shocker there.
Hicks: “There was no report of a demonstration.” Tierney quickly interrupts him. Tierney ends with a speech.

It is big. However, the media have successfully ignored it for nearly 8 months now, so I don't see them suddenly paying attention to it.
We've known that since the very beginning. Moreover, given his preening about how successful we'd been in Libya (how'd that work out for ya' Barky?), it seems inconceivable to me that Hillary would have given such sign-off with out Vallery Jarret's SCOAMT's approval.

marco rubios immigration bill (( no longer the gang of 8 but rubios)
and this bill was so conservative and just the mostest toughest on boarder security ever....
if they are having to buy radio ads on talk radio then I think things might be looking bad for them

So let's haul Hillary back up there again. She's no longer an Admin official, so get her under oath. Then give her (essentially) a choice of throwing the rest of her own career away ("Yes, I granted that waiver. Yes, I was aware of events as they were happening, including the stand-down order for FEST"), or destroying TFG (and with him, the Democrat party for at least 12 years) ("I granted that waiver in my position as Secretary of State, but it was with the full approval of the President. Yes, I was aware of events as they were happening, and only the President could have ordered that Stand Down.")

Mark Zuckerberg has apparently been running ads via his "bi-partisan" *cough* group in support of the immigration bill. Half of the ads are aimed at Liberals, and the other half at Conservatives. I suspect that what you heard was one of the ads aimed at Conservatives.
Ironically, there was a Newsmax story yesterday that the Left is up in arms about some of the things being said in the ads aimed at Conservatives...

They'd have picked a video that some people had seen, and whose maker was dead (or a reliable asset), because they'd have known the press wouldn't cover for them railroading an actual living man and saying that America's real problem is First Amendment-protected blasphemy, not dead Americans?
Other than that, not sure. Our failures in this area aren't very administration-dependent. "Who's in charge" is the bark on a log that's all rot and slugs inside.
(Obviously I'm not on the "incompetence" side of this. Might be wrong. Don't think so. There's a limit to not doing things.)

Also, the Republicans aren't exactly asking pointed questions, are they?
You're supposed to go into these hearing with sharp questions that evoke sharp responses.
polynikes, all I'm interested in is politics and how to extract political value out of issues
perhaps you view these hearings as getting to some truth -- that's fine but sadly it doesn't do much to help defeat Democrats
