— andy Non-assault rifles are easier for the dainty little delicate flowers Leon Panetta is sending to the front lines to use. Or something.
PIERS MORGAN: I have an interview coming up with two young women who wrote a piece in which they said they wanted the rights of the AR-15 weapon at home because they feared they would be attacked and they wanted a gun that would guarantee they would murder or would kill their attacker. How do you respond to that particular argument, which is they believe under their second amendment right they should be allowed an AR-15?CAROLYN MCCARTHY: I will tell you, if you talk to professionals, hunters and certainly sportsmen, theyÂ’ll tell you thatÂ’s not the gun to use. A rifle is more accurate. ItÂ’s certainly easier for a woman to be able to do that.
You just can't make this stuff up, folks. I mean, we all know an AR-15 isn't an "assault rifle" within the real meaning of the term. Now super-genius Carolyn McCarthy does us one better and says it's not even a rifle?
Good to know.
Especially when a different branch of the government refers to select-fire ARs, which fit the textbook definition of "assault rifle", as a "personal defense weapon".
I guess DHS won't be issuing those scary black PDWs to the women.

President Barack Obama has claimed that he goes shooting "all the time"
Even if that were true, it has no bearing on the issue. The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting, sport shooting, or even self defense. It has to do with defending one's self from a tyrannical government.
The other things are just added benefits.
Anything that restricts my ownership (beyond price considerations, of course) to a weapon that would be useful to defend myself if the army came a knockin' is an infringement on my Right to keep and bear arms.

When my elderly mother died of advanced alzhiemer's, she died at my sister's house (she's an advanced degreed RN). We could have kept her technically alive for 2 to 3 more weeks if we had moved her to a hospital critical care unit, but we felt it better that she pass away at home with her family around her.
She naturally had medicare and a supplimental policy that would have covered all of the hundreds of thousands that additional 3 weeks would have cost, but that wasn't a consideration. Why would someone want to inflict the pain and indignities involved in that just for a few more weeks? I think it's cruel.

I take it that sending the old documents is bad, but I don't really get why. IANAL, after all. In software development world, that's what we do- that way when someone says, "No, I never said I wanted feature X that you spent 3 weeks on making work before I changed my mind!" you can show them all the spec documents that included feature X and then the one where it changed- after you'd wasted 3 weeks on it.

There are probably a few more circumstances I would rather not finance the extraordinary medical efforts for also.

"...and they wanted a gun that would guarantee they would murder or would kill their attacker."
That 'murder their attacker' business bothers me more than just about any of the idiocy I've heard or read since the government started this anti-gun hysteria. Stephen King tried the same kind of word game in his recent opinion piece in the NYT, where the distinction between legitimate gun ownership and wanton acts of bloodshed were deliberately blurred, with the idea being to stigmatize gun ownership.
I read today Paul Ryan is promoting a 'subtle and prudent' GOP strategy for the duration of Obama's term. Ryan and other bright lights of the Republican leadership team still think we're dealing with conventional, traditional Democrats--you know who I mean: the Harry Truman, JFK kind of Democrats, the ones who aren't out to destroy the Republic or dispense with the Constitution. I'm sure they're around at state and local levels--I know a few--but at the national level? Blue dogs are dead. We're up against it with old-school commies now. They want us disarmed and I'm betting they'll go to extraordinary lengths to achieve that end.

Now back to business.
Just to be clear guys, Tears Morgan has already played his next hand. They're going to try to connect the Full Auto ban to an AWB, and claim anyone who supports the Full Auto ban must also support an AWB or be logically inconsistent.
Let's go ahead and stipulate that there are a significant number of people who would like to keep a full auto ban, but not ban AWBs (which of course, don't exist...yadda yadda yadda.) I'm not sure it follows that this is inconsistent. The problem is of course that most of us don't even think about the Full Auto ban anymore. (Me, I'm just sorta ambivalent about it, I can theorize reasonable arguments in either direction I suppose, plus it's unlikely to be overturned anyway, so Meh.)
But since we haven't thought about it, we're admittedly unprepared to argue the point.
Now I think this is a red herring personally (akin to his "Tank" and "nuke" talk.) That's why we're blindsided (I mean who honestly thinks like this?! A crazy person that's who.) But when he (and eventually the Demoncrats) clip it all together into a 30 second ad, your standard LIV voter is going to be swayed.
So start preparing for that people.

They've been saying stuff like that for a long time. People who argue with me are always taken aback when I say that, yes, the 2nd Amendment is supposed to protect my right to a howitzer (presuming I can afford one in the first place, of course).
They don't know how to respond, because to them it's just a talking point. They don't actually know anything about the issue, so they just repeat what they've heard.
The problem is that too many 2nd Amendment defenders do shy away from "No, I don't support keeping the full auto ban," because they assume that no one else does.

Meh, any arguments I would have about keeping the full auto ban hinge on the idea that they're specialized weapons that require training to use effectively. Unlike say an AR-15, which my wife could pick up and teach herself to use pretty effectively with just a few hours a year skill upkeep. (Keep in mind BTW, "use effectively" and "be awesome at" are two different things.)
Even then "ban" is a bit much. "Require training before purchasing" might be a better way of stating it.

Nope, not even that.
Remember, the point is that responsible gun owners should not have any hurdles placed in their way by government. Period. End of paragraph.
Someone who never practices with their weapon, never cleans it, and never even considers the scenarios in which they might be forced to use it shouldn't even have handguns. However, we trust them to self-select (as I think you have done regarding a CCW).
There is no reason the same should not be true of full-auto weapons. We will trust responsible gun owners to maintain both the weapons and their proficiency with them. Anyone else is not a "responsible gun owner," and will a) not have a gun, b) not care about the law, or c) end up on the wrong side of legal and civil penalties.

She-Hulk doesn't really give the impression of being hulk-ish like the Bruce Banner version does when he turns. She-Hulk is just a really fit woman with all the right comic book proportions. Ofcourse, it would be weird to have a female hulk character looking all bloated and muscular like the male version. Kind of like the Super Mutant from Fallout 3 that joins your party as an NPC. That's supposed to be a female character according to the story lore.

Yep. Hulk himself has changed colors over the years, from green to grey, and I think even a stint as brown for a while.
Red Hulk is a different guy, though.

Seems to me that the defining characteristic of a carbine is that it is a short-barrelled version of an existing rifle. Since the ARs are based on a design that short-barrelled from the outset, they are rifles, not carbines. Is this right?
I do own an actual carbine, one of these: http://www.angelfire.com/vt/milsurp/no5.html

What the fucking fuck.
====
There was a guy in the next neighborhood over form us when I was a kid in Maryland (early 90's) who got sent up for murder for killing a home invader. The homeowner heard a noise downstairs, went to investigate, found a burglar, burglar put hand in pocket like he was going for a weapon and said he was going to kill the guy, then rape and murder the guy's wife and kids. The homeowner shoved the burglar and ran upstairs. The burglar hit his head on the corner of the coffee table and broke his neck. Now, the guy may have lied about the threat, but there weren't any injuries on anyone other than the impact with the table; which kinda supports the homeowner's story. It was "disproportionate use of force", regardless of the threat, ergo murder. You were just supposed to assume unarmed, unless you could see a weapon, then you could only respond with a like weapon, after retreating as far as you could (for example, a 100lb woman facing The Rock armed with a knife could only use a knife of equal size). Dunno if that was actual law, but it was the standard being applied to self defense cases in Maryland at the time.
There was some discussion in our neighborhood after that (all special forces and other assorted spooks of one variety or another) over if such a thing happened in our block if it'd be reported or if everyone would help disappear the body.

In 2007 (I think? 2009 maybe?) Missouri specifically changed Castle Law to fix this problem.
Apparently people were afraid (or had actually been charged dunno which) about the excessive use of force rules in MO law.
Basically, if I break into your house with a knife, and you shoot me, you've used "excessive force."
Now, attempting to break in (or actually breaking in) triggers Castle Law protections and you are allowed to use any and all force up to and including lethal force.

Carolyn McCarthy gives goofy twats a bad name. She'd probably be having a bad case of the vapors when she learns that back in the day (Ft. Polk Louisiana, 1969) the M-16 (military version of the then AR-15) was referred to as the "Mattel Machine Gun".
Now I'll agree that if I had to pick some weasel house breaker off at 300 yards or so, I'd favor the old M-14--a real rifle. But if I was a delicate little flower waiting in my bedroom for an evil housebreaker to bang down the bedroom door and have his wicked way with me, well I might like to have an M-16 with a full automatic fire switch. I'd hose that sucker as he came through the door.
But if you're talking self defense in that situation Ms. McCarthy what the little flower really, really needs is a doubled barrel 12 guage shotgun loaded with buckshot. Of course if she can pump as fast as she fulls two triggers, a good pump action 12 guage would do the trick as well.
But suffice to say that it's fairly certaain that Ms. McCarthy (and Piers Morgan) will never pull their respective heads out of their asses enough to know what's going on.

The AR platform really is the perfect weapon platform for women who love to accessorize.
Tens of thousands of American women become familiarized with the select fire version of the AR each year while serving in our armed forces. Of course they're comfortable with it...and seek it out when deciding to purchase a weapon for themselves.
Liberal scrunts, that like to tell other women what they should think and do...those that have never served, and have never held an M16 in their hands....much less fired one....preach not from experience, but emotion....usually seasoned with a healthy dose of abject ignorance.
