Do You Know The Story of Wojtek The Soldier Bear?
In 1942, a local boy found a bear cub near Hamadan, Iran. He sold it to the soldiers of the Polish Army stationed nearby for a couple of canned meat tins. As the bear was less than a year old, he initially had problems swallowing and was fed with condensed milk from an emptied vodka bottle.....To get him on a British transport ship when the unit sailed from Egypt to fight with the British 8th Army in the Italian campaign, he was officially drafted into the Polish Army as a private and was listed among the soldiers of the 22nd Artillery Supply Company of the Polish II Corps. Henryk Zacharewicz and Dymitr Szawlugo were assigned as his caretakers.
Wojtek saw action during Monte Casino and would help his fellow soldiers transport ammunition. That's how the 22nd Artillery Supply Company got its insignia.
Following the war Wojtek rose through the ranks and went on to command the Polish army from 1958 until his death in 1963.

The problem is that some on the Right are now skittish because of the lost 2012 election. They shouldnÂ’t be. Conservatism didnÂ’t lose. A moderate Republican candidate lost after he was perceived to alienate working class Reagan Democrat and Independent voters who didnÂ’t turn out for him as much as they did for the McCain/Palin ticket in 2008. Granted, those same voters also didnÂ’t turn out for Obama as strongly either. We had an election defined by a biased media plus millions of voters who sat it out in disgust. As long as we allow the media and GOP establishment to tell us who our nominees must be, we can expect to lose. IÂ’m not interested in losing. AmericaÂ’s next generation canÂ’t afford another loss.

IIRC, the whole "Walmart not re-stocking ammo" dealio was discussed here on the ONOT within the past week, and it had been de-bunked. They're not re-stocking on purpose, they're not re-stocked because they cannot get enough ammo from the suppliers...
Locally, the Walmart in Saline, Michigan (just outside the wire of The Peoples' Republik of AnnArbor) has very little on the shelves. Lots of .22 short, a few boxes of .22LR "Stinger"-type stuff (won't chamber in my HP22), a box or two of .44 Mag, and a couple of boxes of .45 ACP, just to mock me (oh, how I long for a .45).
They still have plenty of shot-shells, but are woe-fully short on the "hunting" caliber ammo.

She told me that we as Americans have no idea what we are in store for. For example, when she emigrated to the States she said she had to have some minor dental work done. The dentist examined her and stated that whoever had put in her fillings should be sued for malpractice. She said all of her work had to be redone. Then she mentioend that her husband had cancer. He was able to get it treated rapidly; she said in the UK he would have probably died (and he was in his mid 20s at the time).

Here's the problem: Obama had and has a compliant media that overlooked just how dirty he's been willing to get and just how little experience he had.
This is why any comparisons to Obama from our side don't work. For instance, an easy rejoinder to the fact Palin would be running with only 2 1/2 years experience as governor is: "well, Obama had only 4 years as Senator!"
That's fascinating. Is Palin going to have the sycophantic media that Obama did? No? Then the fact Obama was able to accomplish something is completely irrelevant to whether Palin could do it.
Palin got a raw deal. She did a great job as governor. She had a record of reform that went completely unheralded. She was smeared so thoroughly not just because of the attacks of the Obama's team, but because McCain's campaign failed to defend her. In a better world, she'd be running in 2016 with a record of 9 years as governor and after having rebutted the attacks of 2008 (after the election was over if not before). Unfortunately, that's not the world we live in. If she runs, she's starting with a big handicap and one that I don't think can be overcome.

Yes I did, and yes it was, but by 11:00 when I left the house everything was starting to melt off. I don't know what its like out there right now since the temps have dropped again, but the roads were mostly dry by 5PM when I got home (dropped by a friend's house while I was down the Clayton way).

Yep, been out there plenty of times. We had to move out there when Brier Creek kicked us out, Waverly Place is being smart about it. Last one I was at (Dec) they had the (Whole Foods?) grocery store out there selling donuts and coffee. Brier Creek had a potential money maker there and the only thing they did was complain we were filling up their unused parking lots.
FWIW, we have a group going in February. Look for a red 2011 GT/CS convertible, that will be mine. Might not have the top down, but I'll be there.

No, the problem is that some of these candidates don't know when to shut the fuck up. One trick reporters use is to ask a question and let the person answer it, and then the reporter will just wait. Even though the question has been answered, the interviewee feels they must keep going on since there is an void there and nature abhors a vacuum. This is the time when you get the nuggets like Aiken dropped, and those used to these tricks don't fall for it. This is why Bush II never had any of these, yes he mangled the English language, but he never went off message. He would answer the question, and then just look at the interviewer after a few seconds and pretty much say, I answered your question, next one.

Well, I pulled the fuse, waited 30s, nothing besides the radio stations getting reset. Then I disconnected the car's battery - same thing.

A couple of guys who owned the company I once worked for were the absolute worst at dealing with the media, and we were in an industry where we interacted with the media on a daily basis. Finally I had to tell them how they needed to interact with the media because it made my job a living hell because they just did not know when to shut the fuck up.
But in their minds, the main reporter we dealt with was one of their "boys", and he wouldn't screw them over because they were "boys". They fell for the "open mic" trick every time and blabbed about some big thing we had in store for later in the year so when we finally unveiled it, we had zero media impact.
That is what the GOP politicians do, they feel the need to wring every second out of their face time, so they can't just shut the fuck up and tell the interviewer, "next".

Works.every.time.

Is this one of those "slit type" CD eaters? Before getting too creative, look for a small hole just slightly bigger than a period near the CD slot. It won't be labeled, and it's tiny, and you won't be able to put anything large into it, but if you find one there's a good chance it's the emergency CD release. I find an unwrapped paperclip is about right for a tool. Just push it in about 1.25" (it should start resisting sluggishly about 1/2" in).

I had this happen to my 1990 535is. It had the factory changer which was an Alpine unit. To eject the cartridge all you need to do is get a credit card or something similar and slide it under the cartridge. This will make contact with the release mechanism for the cartridge.

Yeah, thought about the UTG Tri-Rail, mostly that would give me a place to mount a forward sling swivel, but changing out the action tube gives me more choices in what to use for a foregrip. Of course the Maverick's foregrip is OK by itself, but choices are good as well. The Knoxx stock is pretty much what I was looking at.

I will read up on how to use the MIL system. It seems more generic than others. That way if I spend a bunch of money on a scop I can use it on other rifles.
I will mostly start out shooting steel. I have been using my deer rifle out to 600, but I want to go farther and learn more. We have a range locallythat goes to 1100 or 1200.
I understand a bit about the MIL system. No need to try to explain.

you should be adjusting your scope in moa or mils, not clicks.
I'd suggest learning how ballistic calculators work also
anytime someone pretends to be a long range shooter and mentions 'clicks up' they don't get it.

Good grief, do you really think your some conservative warrior or martyr? As I said before there will be small political and social victories but that's it. Let's turn this around and ask you what do think is going to happen? The country is just going to suddenly reject liberalism? In what scenario does that happen?
Personally I don't know what the future brings but I do know this country isn't going to magically change over some election or new GOP political leadership, simply because liberalism is to entrenched in our society. That's the reality of it, call me a pessimist if it makes you feel better but I'm not one of those commenters that has to write "let it burn" everyday or try's to make myself feel better making a lot of snark over the current liberal in the White House. I know where we're at as a nation, it isn't good and probably continue to get worse. I'd be a hell of a lot less happy living in some fantasyland where I'm wishing for a political "win". This is real life not some political game where if we just have the right team and cheer loud enough we're going to win something.

As to how I found it. Searching for Tezuka stuff on YouTube and there it was. Oi! The green skinned guy is Julius. At one point the animators go through I think 10 different art styles in a minute. And Julius even has a ninja in his employ.

What a juvenile trite bubblegum piece of shit.
Enjoyable sure...mildly...but everybody is a charicature. Its so shallow and one dimensional and it telegraphs whats going to happen from a mile away.
the opening scene was the pinnacle of its achievement...its all downhill from there.
Totally been there done that with better acting and dialogue feeling runs through entire film.
Now if we had gotten to see Ryan Goslings ass, i could atleast recommend it for the ladies and closeted homosecuals like lowandslow....but no such luck.
In the end its completely like eating someone else rewarmed hashbrowns...no matter how much you cook it you still are eating someone elses leftovers that they may very well have snotted on.
