Almost all combat vets put together something in writing in the event of their death. I wish I knew what Kyle had written so I could honor and mourn him as he would have wanted.

I haven't been following this story closely, but my immediate question is how they were able to secure Cowboy Stadium for the service.
If the team itself had something to do with that, then I take back all the mean things I ever said about them.

I'm not going to argue your characterization of the shooter as a scumbag, but he was also a Veteran, with obvious issues. That's why Mr. Kyle was with him, and while it may seem like a severe injustice an irony that he would have faced the danger he did, only to come home and be shot in the back, the reality of it is that this was a continuation of the mission. Mr. Kyle probably knew the risks of dealing with a volatile ex-combat soldier, and he took on those risks, just like he did in his military service.
It's a hard job, obviously, and Mr. Kyle is just the sort of man who was continuing to serve, long after he took off the uniform.

I was halfway through it when he was killed. Took me a while to be able to pick it back up.
It's excellent. A real page turner. His wife, Taya, wrote pieces for it as well.
Breaks my heart such an incredible man is mowed down by a POS. Someone over at This Ain't Hell said his killer never ventured outside the wire during deployment, that he was a loser druggie. So the PTSD is bullshit.

I've read the first chapter. I didn't have money to pick it up at the time, and I haven't been able to find a copy since.
The first chapter was actively good. Most of the time these things are "fine" or "good - considering." No. This one was actively good.

They are a cheep homage to the many tremendous souls given for this country and her higher ideals, of which Chris was a sterling example. I'll never regret or deny a single tear shed for the loss of such honorable warriors. We should all cry ourselves dry in remorse and pride.
