Idaho Potato Bowl (hey New Mexico Bowl, checkit, we picked a food commodity for our bowl game): Buffalo vs. San Diego State, 5:30pm EST

New Orleans Bowl: Tulane vs. LA Lafayette, 9pm EST

I know some of you dear morons are traveling or about to travel to be with loved ones and friends. Be safe, come back a little fatter and enjoy the heck out of your Christmas.

5 This turned out to be a "great" year for Boston College. Heisman candidate, New Year's Eve Bowl game, travel to a warm climate (Shreveport). After a 2-10 record last year, a new coach, and a five year Bowl drought, I'll take it.

Anecdata time: Ran all over the place with Mommy today to finish up my Christmas shopping. In and out of Walmart on a Saturday in about 10 minutes. Not a lot of traffic getting to the one shopping center. Took about five minutes to find a parking spot but that's normal there. Not too busy at the first place we went, in and out of Stein Mart in about 15 minutes. Not even normal Saturday traffic to the place by the mall. I mentioned this to the lady there and she said her friends who work at the mall say it's been a disastrous Christmas season so far. Not even normal Saturday traffic to get home.

No, I am in what is now a reddish state. Honestly, it was a bit alarming. It wasn't even normal Saturday busy, let alone last Saturday before Christmas busy. I mean, it was great for Mommy and I but it must be heart attack inducing for retailers.

Eh we'll see; the B1G certainly had its share of turd teams this year and don't appear to be head and shoulders above the ACC. I'm not sure how good of a head coach Randy Edsall is but he's done a decent job of recruiting after fat Ralph got snookered on a lot of local talent which went elsewhere. The trouble was that they still don't have a lot of depth and any injuries in the skill positions have major impacts. Maryland will probably look pretty inept against O$U, Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin; but beyond that I expect them to be competitive.
