Thursday Night NFL
— Dave in Texas

Tampa Bay at Carolina. 261 tickets available from $20. I heard.

Tampa Bay Twins beat Longbow which beats Crossbow which beats Tampa Bay Twins.*

TB twins.jpg

ALSO Game 2 underway, bottom of the first, Cardinals at Red Sox. I have no dog in this hunt. You may discuss any sport here to-NITE.

ALSO ALSO: James Taylor gets around to singing the national anthem last night (via Slubs)

ALSO ALSO ALSO: I know they're not twins. I don't care. To me they are.

* ok not really, the twins trump everything

I have no desire to watch tonights game even for free. 20 bucks for a ticket....I must not be the only one not interested. Guy from KC came through my hubbys station today and told him that regular seat tickets for the Bronco's Chiefs game are going for a minimum of 1000.

He knows his kids are fussy eaters, and won't eat it if they know what it is - so he does not tell them. His little boy keeps asking him, "What's for supper?" "You'll see", says his dad. 29 I would have to upgrade my cable package to get the NFL channel and it's just not worth $25 a month to watch the Thursday games. One good thing would be that I could then add RedZone back to my lineup but that would be another $8 or so on top of that. Not worth it.

60 Late at night this guy runs into a pub and demands a glass of water from the barman. The guy drinks it in one gulp then asks for a second glass. Six pints later, and he has recovered enough to speak. "Thanks," he croaks. "That's one hell of a thirst you've got," says the barman. The guy says: "Any man would be as bad if they'd just had sex with the woman in my car. She's insatiable. She wants me to go right back out there and do it all again, but I can't." "Where's your car?" the barman asks. "At the roadside," the guy gasps. "Tell you what," says the barman, "you watch the bar for me while I nip out and take your place." "Be my guest," the guy says. So the barman goes outside and gets in the car. It's totally dark, so the woman doesn't realize she's with a different man. And they get right down to it, humping away. Five minutes later there's a knock on the window. It's a cop, and he shines his flashlight on the naked couple. "What's going on here?" he asks. "It's all right, officer," explains the barman, "She's my wife." The officer replies apologetically, "Oh, sorry sir, I didn't realize." The barman says, "Neither did I till you switched on that light."

93 Two men waiting at the pearly gates strike up a conversation. "How'd you die?" the first man asks the second. "I froze to death," says the second. "That's awful, how does it feel to freeze to death?" says the first. "It's very uncomfortable at first, you get the shakes, and you get pains in all your fingers and toes. But eventually, it's a very calm way to go. You get numb and you kind of drift off, as if you're sleeping. How did you die?" says the second. "I had a heart attack", says the first guy. "You see, I knew my wife was cheating on me, so one day I showed up at home unexpectedly. I ran up to the bedroom, and found her alone, knitting. I ran down to the basement, bot no one was hiding there. I ran up to the second floor, but no one was hiding there either. I ran as fast as I could to the attic, and just as I got there, I had a massive heart attack and died." The second man shakes his head. "that's so ironic" he says. "What do you mean?" asks the first man "If you had only stopped to look in the freezer, we'd both still be alive."

That's the big difference I've noticed since Geno Smith took over for Capt Buttfumble. Even as a rookie, Geno tends to get right back up while Sanchez had the look in his eyes of a man about to be executed. Sanchez avoided the sack by throwing the ball away to the opposition's secondary

So you can forget about getting three wishes. You only get one wish. The man sat down on the beach and thought about it for awhile. Then he said, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii; but I'm scared to fly and I get very seasick. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii so that I can drive over there to visit?" The genie laughed and said, "That's impossible! Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete... how much steel...! No. Think of another wish." The man tried to think of another wish. Finally, he said, "I've been married and divorced several times. My wives always said that I don't care and that I'm insensitive. So I wish that I could understand women... know how they feel inside and what they're thinking when they give me the silent treatment...know why they're crying...know what they really want when they say, 'Nothing'...know how to make them truly happy...." 263 A man goes to the doctor after feeling ill. The doctor says, "You know, you should have come to see me sooner. Unfortunately you have waited too long and you are going to die this evening." The man is distraught and wonders how he is going to tell his wife. Well, he tells her and she takes it pretty well. "Honey, this is going to be a night that you will always remember," she says. "I am going to treat you like a king." She prepares a scrumptious gourmet dinner with wine, candles-the works. After dinner she slips away and returns in the most incredible negligee the man has ever seen. She leads him into their bedroom. They make the most passionate love they have ever made. The man is beside himself. Once done, the wife rolls over to go to sleep knowing she kept her promise. Well, the husband is wide awake watching the clock. He knows that he is doomed. He taps her..."Honey?" he whispers. She rolls over and again proceed to make love. Again when they were done she rolls over and he taps her. She is getting cranky, but under the circumstances she grants her husband's dying wishes. Finally the wife rolls over and begins to snore. Well, the man decides to tap her again. "Honey?" he whispers. She rolls over and yells, "Oh sure! You don't have to get up in the morning!!!"

265 RE Yogi and catcher hitter talk. As told on a Stan Musial instructional hitting album. All star game. Extra innings. 14th or so inning ( can't remember) Musial comes to the plate and Yogi says "Come on Stan, my feet are hurting." Stan goes yard. NL wins. And Yogi's feet don't hurt any more.

It's like clockwork. Somebody hasn't thrown a pick in 250 passes... yoink. Some douche snags it. Or, even last night, they announce "the Cards are bring in the shutdown lefty reliever to pitch to Ortiz" -- hadn't thrown a HR to a lefty in like forever-- boom, first pitch gone.
