Crow Uses Lid To Snowboard Down Roof... Deliberately

It would just be "Aw that's funny" if he just did it accidentally.

But he doesn't seem to do it accidentally. Because he keeps doing it. He seems to be playing -- engaging in sport.

That is fascinating, as I am having the direct opposite experience with my 3 year old male, blue cat. He goes batshit bonkers over the thing, EVERY time. I am constantly amazed that he does not retain one iota of memory of the last time he chased the red dot and did not get it.

Does anyone read old German? I have an old old paper clipping with names and dates from the late 1800's and early 1900's with names and dates I think are missing family members. That came from the prof at the local U, she can't read the old German. I found it in a family bible printed in 1901.

A couple of years ago there was a big commotion in the parking lot of the store where I work. A pair of crows (they may have been young ravens) carried out a hit on a pigeon. They drove the thing down to the asphalt and then pinned it to the the ground. One them pecked through the victim's chest and pulled it's heart out while the other one scissored the pigeon's head of with it's beak. They flew up into the elm tree with their bloody trophies, cawing and waving them in triumph at the other birds.

It was like some kind of fucked up avian gang initiation.

108 Its not a real embassy-embassy, its just a residential house acting as an embassy. I suppose its as vulnerable as any house might be. The US embassy in Rome sits right on a regular street too.

It ain't exactly in some high-security location either. There's a hotel across the street a sniper could setup a sweet hide in...so I don't see the move as much of a security upgrade...more of a FUCK YOU statement.

Kinda also see it as sending a message that you will no longer encounter US marines anywhere near the Vatican. I would think having security from other countries nearby in their embassies would be a comfort to the Vatican.

They like to have the high ground, and it just keep slipping. If it was recreating, it would be looking up as it went down the slope every time- it' doesn't need to hold onto the lid with it's beak.
