All insurance is changing, and many many long term patients losing insurance and being forced to move Doctors... The amount of PAPERWORK involved with moving said patients is staggering... and they don't get reimbursed for that administrative cost. Add in the vast influx of new Medicaid patients... which are a net loss to most practices? Add in that no one knows what the rules really are for next year? Who they can send patients to? Add in that most Doctors will not know if the patient is actually covered by an insurance plan until the Insurance company reimburses them??? (because so many people are being dropped?).... I work in Medical IT... and you can smell the Fear in the back offices of Medical Practices.
