Democrats' Deadline for Fix for Policy Cancellations Is... This Friday?
— Ace

That's not even possible. I'm a racist, uneducated conservative filled with hate who wants sick people to die and who can't stand the fact that the president is black, and even I know any fix would take a full month (at least) of research, hearings, etc.

Option 1:  Democrats and RINOs vote for delay of mandate until after midterms.

38 Two bills from the House: 1. Repeal the ACA in its entirety. 2. Or, allow people, insurers, and everyone else to go outside the exchange and its rules if they wish to do so; this of course includes keeping their current insurance. If the ACA is all that, people will choose the ACA. It not, let it die. We offered them a delay (which is really all “keep your insurance” really is) last month. The price just went up.

Posted by: Paid for by Citizens for Clyde the Orangutan at November 12, 2013 10:57 AM (QF8uk)

39 Finally, bipartisanship. A simple government guarantee of the insurers' potential losses would fix the system -- a Fannie Mae of healthcare, if you will. Once the public can sign up for the low cost plans and has a taste of the great benefits, the premiums will more than cover the costs of the program and the taxpayers won't be on the hook for a dime.

I'm pretty tuned in to politics, far more so than the average voter in the street, and yet I couldn't tell you to save my life just what the GOP legislation in question is.

Is it the Ron Johnson "If You Like It You Can Keep It" bill?

But Bash was talking about the House, and Johnson is in the Senate. What is it if anything they've got cooked up on the House side?

It might actually be good for the GOP to, y'know, come up with an actual unified front in terms of their Obamacare response.

It might also be a good thing for the GOP to remind themselves that any "fix" they come up with is a golden opportunity for liberals to slough off blame for the trainwreck onto conservatives.

"Everything was shaping up fine, with a few glitches, until those pesky Republicans meddled with it and now everything's a huge mess!"

Makes a repeal-or-no-deal stance more comprehensible.

At least the Democrats are starting to realize that their utopian ideologues have to be reined in before total chaos overtakes the health market entirely.

Next, I hope to see Democrats in the House calling for tar and feathers too.  They've got some distance to make up before they get even a hearing for their excuses, and turning on the scummiest with some hot tar will help to make up some of that distance.

It  would  be  a   start anyway.

This will be necessitate some revision of the Healthcare.gov website, as anyone with a prior plan will have to submit their information for approval by Health Insurance Advisors. We are told by the prime contractor, CGI that with an infusion of funds, this can be done quickly and efficiently. From FOX:

Aside from scrambling to fix the broken HealthCare.gov website, the administration is now trying to deal with the millions of Americans who have received cancellation notices. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the president's team is trying to figure out a way to offer relief to some of those policyholders.

Unlike you I love hearing that phrase.  If it were my decision I'd use it as a second blog tag line.  As far as I'm concerned Republicans need constant reminding how politically inept, even stupid, their leaders have been over the last five years certainly and probably even the last thirteen years.

This "governing class" of Republicans need to be stamped out of the party.  McCain, Graham and any others who would like to stand up and lecture the voters (or call them "wacko birds") on how we all just have to shut up and take the reaming like good little serfs need to go away.  Retire.  Fade into some old folks home someplace.

Not one republican amendment was allowed, nor were repubs even allowed in the conferences that produced this piece of shit.

Every republican was slammed by the dems and the press as hateful,  racist, etc. during 16 days of "gov shutdown kabuki theater" last month, for wanting to delay this piece of shit.

If they come anywhere near this now, the only possible outcome is that they will get some of this shit on them, whilst right now they are clean.

They would be insane/stupid to offer help at this juncture.

So make book on it, they will!

329 Bill Clinton calling out Obama's "if you like your insurance..." line changes everything. Clearly, he's trying to separate Hillary from ObamaCare but in the mean time, he creates a huge dilemma for all but the most liberal Democrats. Do they agree with Bill and set the wheels in motion for a complete repeal? Or do they ride out the storm with BHO? ObamaCare is the only issue people are talking about now because people are either getting cancellation notices or worried about getting one next year with the expiration of the employer mandate waiver. The news that the security of the site is suspect also has people avoiding it like the plague (with good reason) Add the Friday internal deadline to the mix and even the Dems will be saying that Ted Cruz was right on target...
