Egypt's Revolution Proceeds to the Bloodletting Phase
— Ace

Muslim Brotherhood supporters confronted the military, and the military confronted back-- killing 40 of the Muslim Brotherhood protesters and wounding another 300.

27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="ep_1399">

The Al Nour party, which was the only Islamist/Salafist party to support the removal of Mursi -- the Nourists wanted a more hardline Islamist government -- has now withdrawn its support from the wide reform block.

AllahPundit worries about the Nourists.

But he does see a bright spot:

A Brotherhood spokesman said of Nour, “They are being used to beautify or whitewash this military coup. They are making enemies on both sides.” Two big X factors here, then. One: How many Islamist voters will Nour inherit from the Brotherhood due to public disgust with Morsi? A “pragmatic” Islamist will migrate to Nour simply because they’re the only game in town if you want some leverage inside government. Others, like these lunatics, will stick with the MB and bitterly resent Nour for having sold out The Cause in the name of gaining power. That’s not a terrible result, actually — having Islamists at each others’ throats is better than having them at anyone else’s.

Indeed, and let's not forget, a lot of the people who demonstrated to bring down the Muslim Brotherhood objected to the imposition of strict sharia law on the country.

And for those of the mind "let the fight each other until they're as sick of bloodshed as the rest of us," there's always the prospect of a full-on civil war.

Tourism accounted for over 1/3 of all of Egypt's hard currency surplus.

GONE.

I would think that tourism has an even larger role on their economy...because of the 'ripple effect'.

People working in the hotels and restaurants; they have money to buy things, and pay rent...which puts money into the hands of people who are removed from tourism itself.

Las Vegas, for example...would dry up and blow away if you took away it's primary industry of casinos/tourism.

118 @93 Not really. If they declare marshal law, they can clear the streets, impose a curfew and make everyone go back to work. Then the Saudi's ship them a bunch of cheap gas, prices go down and we ship more wheat, farmers make money, and bread prices go down in Egypt. This is mostly about the economy. They are starving.

I'm serious when I say my position is dependent on what the Israeli leader's want. Of course that plays into the conspiratists theories as opposed to seeing that Israel will always be on the side of what is going to be best for them. Was Morsi really "democratically elected"? I have my doubts. He promised a collaborative government and a host of other things that he later reneged on. I think that the case can be made he wasn't really democratically elected, and he is now suffering from an early impeachment.

160 The problem confronting the "Arab world" is that "(Muslim) Arabs" don't really have an obvious way to proceed. The Western model, which Arabs are prone to interpreting through the prism of Qutb's work and "exoticizing" "chauvinistic xenophobia" anyway, has failed somewhat miserably as of late, and Islam, which Arabs perceive as their authentic religious solution is obviously a miserable failure, even to the Arab mind (which had largely come to accept Islam's self-evident flaws and defects, and its inferiority vis a vis "Occidentalism," prior to the 1960s and the Western Cultural/Sexual Revolution).

One can only note the objectives of NWO and NWC are almost completely compatible and in fact for the most part complimentary.

I laughed    when I saw a Three Stooges video that mentioned the NWO.  Those  fucktards have been at  this for quite a while.

BTW, no tinfoil hat  is needed. They're   pretty much all  emboldened and shit, and are out of the closet   these days.

198 "there's always the prospect of a full-on civil war." That fuckin' full-on civil war wouldn't have a chance without interventionists funding chaos in a sadistic process of elimination, divide/conquer. Civil war would not get funded without our damned politicians sending our US tax funds as foreign aid to the fuckin' rebel Islamists along with "free gift bags" of arsenal supplies and aircraft following the US government agents training the worst terrorists as if they need a how-to course. The son of Mubarak had been successfully negotiating on behalf of the indigenous up and coming middle class educated population before the US/Obama State Policy to topple every government via his "organizers" propagandizing for hope'n'change Arab Spring fashion show down. Even so, despite Morsi, the Egyptian Military still functions. And as during Mubarak's reign, it is seen by Egyptians as close to positive as any other perception, still. But remember that the Military had been entrenched as the ONLY members of Egyptian middle class, the very thing which Mubarak, Jr. had been attempting with some success to broaden in popular coalition. Combine the young professionals and merchants with the inbred Military society for a more comprehensive and functional middle class to benefit more Egyptians, more prosperity benefiting everyone. Morsi was for the destruction of all Egyptians who wouldn't roll over and smile while he crucified them outside his palace window. Morsi removed every qualified worker from employment throughout Egypt and installed an ignorant, stupid, untrained and unqualified Islamist to run the government and the nation. Morsi was like an Egyptian Mao cultural revolution, purging all intellectuals and professionals from the population. Morsi didn't uphold his constitutional duties, but like recent POTUS administrations, ignored the constitution and administered complete authoritarianism. So Morsi leaving office was seen as cause for the biggest celebration of est. 20-40 MILLION Egyptians, while a mere 20,000 Muslim Brotherhood fanatics (not moderates calling for a peaceful referendum election) swear RAGE and bloody murder for getting the pink slip by popular demand. We hear of tragic murders everywhere in the world. It's no reason for our State Dept. to insist on fixing other people's situations. As if Hillary or Kerry or anyone from the reset/overspent/overcharged Obama administration knows squat. Hell, who's bright idea was it to encourage Hillary to spout, "We came, we saw, we killed, bwahahaha!!" in the US "lion's share" of the NATO illegal war against all Libyans, bombing their modern infrastructure for modern society into oblivion? And in that process, leaving no supplies necessary for the next war. ("Syria Is Not Libya," The Air Force Magazine, 4/12.)

Speaking of the apocalypse, I saw where they did an interview with some top Nintendo execs about why their new games are so easy to beat, and they said it is because today's gamers can't beat the original Super Mario.

I beat that when I was 4. How much further can future generations fall? When the easy mindnumbing shit of the previous generation is too hard, boom.

260 At this point, military rule in Egypt looks about the best possible option. ** this type never tires of bloodshed. ** Funny about this. I'm pretty sure Golda Meir said "There will be no peace in the Middle East until the Arabs love their children more than they hate Jews" even before I was born. Sting, God rot his Lefty soul, was for once in his life perfectly right when he sang "What might save us me and you is if the Russians love their children too." They did, and do. But the Islamofascists don't. Drench the little fuckers in white phosphorus, napalm and high explosive. Lather, rinse, repeat until all the young men are dead and all you hear in the cities is the wailing of the old women over the smouldering bodies of the children.
