— Ace Muslim Brotherhood supporters confronted the military, and the military confronted back-- killing 40 of the Muslim Brotherhood protesters and wounding another 300.
The Al Nour party, which was the only Islamist/Salafist party to support the removal of Mursi -- the Nourists wanted a more hardline Islamist government -- has now withdrawn its support from the wide reform block.
AllahPundit worries about the Nourists.
But he does see a bright spot:
A Brotherhood spokesman said of Nour, “They are being used to beautify or whitewash this military coup. They are making enemies on both sides.” Two big X factors here, then. One: How many Islamist voters will Nour inherit from the Brotherhood due to public disgust with Morsi? A “pragmatic” Islamist will migrate to Nour simply because they’re the only game in town if you want some leverage inside government. Others, like these lunatics, will stick with the MB and bitterly resent Nour for having sold out The Cause in the name of gaining power. That’s not a terrible result, actually — having Islamists at each others’ throats is better than having them at anyone else’s.
Indeed, and let's not forget, a lot of the people who demonstrated to bring down the Muslim Brotherhood objected to the imposition of strict sharia law on the country.
And for those of the mind "let the fight each other until they're as sick of bloodshed as the rest of us," there's always the prospect of a full-on civil war.

The MuzzBros effectively killed the tourism industry in Egypt.
This is no small thing.
Tourism has been a cash cow for Egypt for over a hundred years.
I think the people could've put up with a lot of their 'muslim purity' stuff...but killing the tourism industry was taking it too far.

Tourism accounted for over 1/3 of all of Egypt's hard currency surplus.
GONE.
I would think that tourism has an even larger role on their economy...because of the 'ripple effect'.
People working in the hotels and restaurants; they have money to buy things, and pay rent...which puts money into the hands of people who are removed from tourism itself.
Las Vegas, for example...would dry up and blow away if you took away it's primary industry of casinos/tourism.

While the Hildebeast was legally a US senator from NY, she was never a New Yorker. She came from a prominent political family in Chicago, went to Arkansas as a political wife, and then carpetbagged her way into the US Senate via NY. That's like the trifecta of political corruption. She should go for the grand slam and take Lautenberg's seat in NJ.

I'm still convinced that GW did what he did in the ME partially to prevent the beginnings of a New World Caliphate. TFG did his best to undo that and backed the MB to get the NWC back on course.
I don't think this will stop him from trying. The funny part is that in all of TFG's (and Code Pink's) meddling in the ME, I never heard the word "freedom" used other than in conjunction with the word "election." As I understand it. It's their version of the FSA here. Mubarik was subsidizing food and fuel, along with looting the Treasury. Just spreading the ill gotten goodies to keep him in power. Didn't quite work. Now Morisy was a complete incompetent at spreading the ill gotten goods, or only giving it to his boys in da hood. Not spreading enough to others is what he's done wrong. Will the new guy try to spread more cash, or has the well run dry, and that's the problem?
Please pass the popcorn.

I think the difference is: a) the speed of the reversal of democratic reforms (our rights have been slip-sliding away for a several generations), and; b) the poverty and calorie deficit Egyptians have been suffering from and that the MB has exacerbated all the real problems in the country.

Speaking of the apocalypse, I saw where they did an interview with some top Nintendo execs about why their new games are so easy to beat, and they said it is because today's gamers can't beat the original Super Mario.
I beat that when I was 4. How much further can future generations fall? When the easy mindnumbing shit of the previous generation is too hard, boom.
