Eric Holder Now Speaking About AP Investigation
— Ace

Live feed here. So far, it's another guy who doesn't know anything at all.

News: Holder says he wasn't part of the AP investigation at all, because, if I have this right, he himself was questioned by the FBI as a possible leaker. So he recused himself.

An couple of odd lines from Holder: Speaking about the administration's civil rights record, he declared "I'm proud of what we've done," then lists, as his only proof of a strong record on civil rights, treating terrorists kindly.

No one follows up -- that's all well and good for terrorists, but how about American citizens?

Then, speaking about the Administration's promise to make drone decisions more transparent, Holder says, "That was a promise, by me, that I think will be kept."

Outstanding. Can't get a stronger guarantee than that.

1) Fast and Furious

2) Foreign Chinese money flowing to reelection campaign

3) IRS Scandal

4) Benghazi

5) EPA emails

6) AP investigation/wiretapping

7) HHS operations/illegal pushing for obamacare

others?

And note, these are not just scandals, but scandals UPON scandals.

The gun walking/running in Fast and Furious was bad enough.  But when investigated they lied, misrepresented and have refused to produce almost 60,000 pages of documents under the misnomer of "executive privilege".

I mean, each initial scandal begets its own scandal/coverup.

The one biggie they try to get Reagan with is Iran-Contra, essentially gun running to unsavory individuals.  Ooooohhhhh, big scandal.  That's all they had.

But in the one scandal in Benghazi, gun running to Syria IS ASSUMED TO BE GOING ON.  Geraldo said he had a source confirm it!!!!  And yet the media isn't out to rape zero.  It isn't out for zero's head.  There have been no hearings on the actual, underlying fucking original scandal of Benghazi which is the gun running.

There are just too many fucking scandals within scandals.  It's a joke.  The media buried them all, but like a zombie they always come back.

that's the question, and what DOJ hoped to find out by reviewing months of AP employees' phone records

That's really the problem with the AP scandal.  It's good because the AP's knickers are in a twist, so maybe we'll get some real reporting for the next week or two, but all DOJ really has to do is produce some warrants for the information (assuming there are any- though you'd think they'd have already produced them if that was the case) and say, "This was completely legit.  We didn't tell anyone because telling anyone would have ruined any chances of the investigation bearing fruit."

If they do that, the scandal goes away, and all will be forgiven.

206 If I understand Carney correctly, the WH gets its information from the press. Not briefings. Not its own Chief Counsel. And certainly not from AG Holder -- that would be outrageous! Perhaps Katie Couric should have posed her infamous question to Obama rather than Palin. By the way, if Carney is correct, why not fire all those WH sycophantic hangers-on? Who needs a staff to read the morning paper?

I don't know if you were around yesterday, TR, but we had a good discussion about that very subject.

While impeachment would be personally satisfying on a great many levels, it'd also give the Leftards an enemy (us) and a reason to circle the wagons around TFG.

A    better alternative is to just let this administration drown in its  own malfeasance for the remainder  of the term,   and poison  the left just like the GOP was poisoned after Watergate.  I'd personally like to see   3.5   more years   like what we've seen for the past week.

217 You have to wonder when Boehner is going to cave to his caucus and appoint a special prosecutor(s). This is out of control.

The DOJ, who was spying on reporters, is going to investigate the IRS, who was targeting conservatives. Meanwhile, the DOJ will investigate itself on the wiretaps. Then they'll both report to the President, who let 4 Americans die in Libya. I can't see a problem there.

Oh, and when the reports are released, Jay Carney will brief us all, as soon as he reads the summaries in the newspapers.

218 We get more than enough material to do nothing but hold hearings on various scandals for the remainder TFG's term, and that would be awesome, if they never go around to voting for amnesty or internet sales taxes, etc.

227 "This was completely legit. We didn't tell anyone because telling anyone would have ruined any chances of the investigation bearing fruit."

If they do that, the scandal goes away, and all will be forgiven.

Posted by: AllenG (

The problem with that is Holder claimed today that *he didn't issue the subpoenas.* If it were a legit investigation he would have had to sign them.

Options:
A ) He's lying and did issue them
B ) Not a legit investigation but illegal seizure of info.

Further, leak investigations start with deposing the leak outlets, in this case supposedly the AP reporter on the bomb story.

The AP would have known about the investigation at that point. Maybe they couldn't report on the investigation but other news outlets would have known.

Why would the DOJ break investigative procedure, order the subpoena, and then drop it?

"There has been some speculation – as yet unconfirmed – that General Ham was relieved of his command because he intended to send a rescue mission to the U.S. consulate facility in Benghazi, where the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed by a terrorist force in a 7-hour firefight on September 11th and 12th."

Be interesting to hear from General Ham - don't you think?

There was a destroyer with cruise missiles close to Benghazi that night.

Don't tell me nothing could have been done. As I have already pointed out they could have at least crashed the Predator on the mortar site that was being lazed. By the way - who told us the Predator was unarmed and why exactly do we believe him?
