Excitable Andy has had enough of Alec Baldwin
— Purple Avenger

At some point you have to stop making excuses for people's atrocious behavior. Sullivan seems to have hit that point.

...For too many of them – especially gay establishment liberals, like the tools at GLAAD or the terminally naive like Hilary Rosen – there is a glaring double standard here. It seems to me that this double standard cannot stand any more. And this raging, violent bigot cannot be defended any longer...

Open whatever. Chainsaws and creamed corn wading pools allowed this time. No greased porcupines or napalm though. Some lines just shouldn't be crossed.

8 I've been hearing "something in the air tonight" on the radio recently.   It feels like a tea party song to me lately.  "well If you told me you were drowning I would not lend a hand"  --my feelings towards most liberals now.  "its all been a pack of lies"  perfect fit to the MFM for the last 10 years or so.    I'm getting tired of holding on and wondering when or if things will come to a head though.

9 No offense but in a day and age when CGI and photoshopping is rampant, why should we believe that ad was really done in the real?

I don't care how many safety lines he had, that would still be a very dangerous stunt.

Plus why bother to spend that kind of money for a real scene when it can be done on a computer for less money and faster?

Color me skeptical. And no, I don't believe the "here's how we did it" clips either.

Some guy was calling people who doubt the reality of the ad as "HATERS"? WTF? Being a bit skeptical is hating now?

Or Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner? Yeah, that acme stuff sure LOOKED good. Until he actually tried it out.

My guess, is that either Harry is going to pull a rabbit trick with a bill and we'll wind up owning and bad "fix" or Obama will relent and sign the damn thing and the GOP winds up HELPING KEEP THE LAW INTACT!!!!!!!

They should've just submitted a bill to repeal it. (plus the guy who sponsored this fix doesn't have a very conservative reputation so I'm suspect of anything with his fingerprints on it.)

57 But on May 17, 2010, agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, wearing bulletproof vests, raided his university offices. A parallel scene played out at Dr. LaskarÂ’s home, where his wife, Devi Laskar, found armed agents in her driveway. While agents went through the house and confiscated files and computer equipment, she went to a coffee shop to call a lawyer.

“What were they looking for?” Dr. Laskar said in disbelief, recounting the event recently. “Cash under the bed? Chips in the ceiling?”

The day of the raid, there was to be an auction for Sayana. It never happened. Instead, Dr. Laskar was suspended without pay from his tenured position. He was later arrested on state racketeering charges and eventually fired by Georgia Tech, accused of misusing university resources.

98 Nice to see Alec Baldwin kinda, sorta be punished for yet another ugly outburst (still hasn't lost his Capital One gig, though has he?), but what Bashir said was worse, not only because A]It was really ugly/misogynist, but B] It was planned, not loose words in the heat of anger, and C] It was on -air!

The winner in all of this is Bashir, since clearly MSNBC can only be forced to censure one of their on-air talent at a time.

100 When the deputy responded to the complaint, he found the boy, between 10 and 12 years old, cuffed to a porch by his ankle with a dead chicken around his neck.

The officer requested back-up after several aggressive, large dogs were let out of the house by another child.

That's when the house was entered and searched.

Investigators say they removed five kids from the home, all between 8 and 14 years old, and arrested Dorian Harper and Wanda Larson who they say are the foster parents of the child.

Larson is a supervisor with Union County's Department of Social Services.

109 A couple thoughts on that stupid, fucking asshole Martin Bashir's slavery rant ---

First, his demented point seems to be that there were slavers who took brutality way over the top, and therefore the definition of slavery has to be rape, shitting in people's mouths, separations of families, etc.  The definition apparently in his trivial mind cannot be flexible enough to address the stealing of the production of people's lifetimes.

The ridiculous part of the stupid, fucking asshole's rant is that by defining slavery in that way it means that any slave who was not treated that badly was never really a slave, and therefore could not have been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation.

And he has the unmitigated gall to call anyone a dunce.

--

Second, we were all born, we will all die.  The entire point of slavery is to diminish the slaver's mortality by stealing the limited time of others.

Bashir is trying to muddy the waters in order to get people to miss the point.   Some isolated brutality in extreme excess of a more prevalent level of brutality does not diminish that stealing time from other people is just a fractum of stealing the life of other people.

The asshole is firing out because the leading proponents of time stealing in this country are all leftists -- in fact, every fucking one of them, and he does not want to face those charges in any real way.  So, he thinks if he is a big enough asshole everyone will run from the confrontation.

Well, go fuck yourself Bashir, and a hearty 'go fuck yourself' to all the other neo-slavers in America as well.  You truly are scum.

Why don't I just tell you about what fun I had standing naked next to my bed at midnight with a roll of paper towels sopping up the water gushing down my bedroom wall while the upstairs neighbor was showering.  This is only the 4th or 5th time I have reported it to the luxury shithole slumlords and I finally said that it they don't get this thing fixed within 24 hours, I would have no choice but to report it to the City Housing Dept. (who has been all over their shit for weeks now anyway).  It has happened so frequently that my fat kitty, the second she hears their shower running, dashes over onto my (very expensive) nightstand and gazes up at the area of the crown molding that the water streams from.  That part is actually pretty funny.
