— Purple Avenger The smart ones went into hiding
Israel's Hula painted frog had not been seen for nearly 60 years, but in 2011 one was found lurking in a patch of swampy undergrowth. What's next? Giant Sloths? Monster camels in Canada? Is there a secret genetics lab somewhere recreating extinct species?Tests have revealed that the frog belongs to a group of amphibians that died out 15,000 years ago.
Openize the thread. Other than zombie frogs, I'm burned out right now.
Update: Ever wonder how evolution made roosters junk vanish? Someone figured it out.

Legend has it that there are some remnant short-face bears roaming around in the wilds of Siberia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short-faced_bear). Go find one and set it loose in the Capitol.

If you're going with the whole "leashed-flightless-bird" fad (which I question, quite frankly) I lean towards a cassawary myself. Large, colorful, aggressive and rare enough to piss off Greens. Not everyone can pull the cassie off, though.

Ah, I've got it!
Everyone go outside and poke around in any swampy undergrowth you may have in the vicinity of your home or office. If you see any Civil Liberties, Enumerated Powers of the Constitutional variety, or Rule of Law, GRAB THEM! They're a precious commodity that we fear may have suffered an extinction level event in the fall of 2008.

Actually, you could make the argument that these extinct species were frozen for thousands of years in Glaciers from the last ice-age... but with climate change melting them away, their eggs have been thawed and the froggies finally hatched.

Also found an article in the UK about canine cancer cells that trace back 250 years to a single wolf/dog.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/kaogv2p
A cell culture is a different thing than an entire (extinct) organism. But this whole idea about being extinct, or a newly discovered species provokes my skepticism. Or the idea that a clone is somehow not the real thing. Or the idea that Evolution did happen in the past but has stopped now that humans have appeared.
This discover of an extinct frog might simply be the result of evolution recreating an extinct species from the original parent species. It might have happened naturally not in someone's laboratory.
