Farrakhan praised Hagel as a man who finally had the guts to hate the Jews. Hey, we were all thinking it.

And, as we speak, Republicans are changing their "nay" votes on cloture to "yea." Lamar Alexander's fainthearted fade makes Hagel -- a dumb man -- in charge of our military.

As people have repeatedly pointed out, Obama wants Hagel as a cudgel against GOP criticism of his foreign policy. He wants Hagel to be able to wave off criticism with "My foreign policy guy is a Republican and he agrees with me. Not like you eXXXtreme extremists of the G-O-exxxtremi-Pee!"

IT's a tactic not a simple choice for carrying out his FP.
