— Ace John Fund writes about the role the Justice Department's community-organizing branch, the CRS, played in whipping on the witch hunt.
Justice’s Community Relations Service (CRS) even helped organize a meeting between Sanford, Fla., public officials and the local NAACP. The result was the resignation of police chief Bill Lee over his handling of the Martin case. While his resignation was rescinded after a few weeks by local officials, Chief Lee faced further pressure to leave his job and ultimately quit for good two months later. Valerie Houston, one of the pastors leading the protests against Zimmerman and Lee, praised the Community Relations Service as being “there for us.”The website for the CRS claims it “does not take sides among disputing parties” and only provides “impartial conciliation and mediation services.” But the evidence of its activities in Sanford shows that it placed a large thumb on the scales of justice in the Zimmerman case. What can providing support for a “March for Trayvon Martin” rally headlined by the rabble-rousing Reverend Al Sharpton have to do with “conciliation and mediation”?

I livestreamed almost all of O'Mara's close at work. It is truly bizzaro-world if Zim gets convicted on any count.
More broadly, O'Mara talked calmly to the court for a couple of hours. Bernie what's his name shrieked at them and harangued them yesterday. It reminded me why I liked the Dark Lord Cheney way back when...he just talked. The AlGores, the Kerrys, the Edwards of the world are always yelling at us about how they're going to FIGHT for something or other. I've never been in a business meeting where anyone was persuaded about anything by yelling. I trust people who can just talk and make sense.

Of course, they are assuming the people who would be rioting would be unavailable Monday cause they would be working

Man, this is screwing up my life.
Tomorrow I had planned to take daughter in to New York City for the day. We are dropping Rockdad off in Newark so he can take the Bolt bus to Boston and pick up a used car for our son that is being given to him by a family friend. We were going to park our car in Newark and take the subway into Manhattan. Maybe we should change plans? Probably don't want to be anywhere near downtown Newark tomorrow night if this verdict is gonna be read.

He gave the jury permission to believe whoever they wanted, but constructed a plausible case for self-defense that stood up no matter which witnesses you believe. Very smart IMO. If the defense case is plausible at all, and there were any witnesses that supported it and no state witnesses that unequivocally refuted it, he said you must find the defendant Not Guilty.
One particular witness that I missed in trial may be a key one as described in the defense close. The expert who testified (I think for the state) on self-defense and then under cross said that GZ had no realistic alternative to pulling his gun and shooting when he did it.

Updated FBI ballistics tests conducted in 1961 confirmed that his was the gun that certainly killed one of the two victims, Berardelli, the paymaster's guard. Other evidence, some presented at trial and some found later, after his execution, removes any doubt Sacco was one of the triggermen. Vanzetti, on the other hand, could very well have been innocent of participation in the robbery, although both he and Sacco were members of the same anarchist cell and Vanzetti almost certainly knew far more than he was telling.

Remember half the population has below average intelligence. In the past the people in that lower half had enough sense to realize they had no business voting. Well, to begin with, if I were president, I would never have commented on a local law enforcement story at all. Among the many things wrong with this country is the notion that the prez has to be on TV every single day.
That being said, I would very calmly, but sternly, remind people of the rule of law and the right to trial by jury. I would also caution against mob thinking and express the hope that the police would make sure any sort of shenanigans would not be tolerated.

fwiw, there's no "Black Hispanic" because (according to some) they don't exist. I share a house with an African-American male. He says that David Ortiz isn't black. I point out that he's darker than roomie, roomie says that's not what counts.
(I dropped it before getting into whether Obama is not black because he doesn't have slave ancestry. Just saying, people are all kinds of weird about shit).

Ok, so here's my theory....
Zimmerman Grabbed Trayvon.
It all makes sense now. It's so clear, Stevie Wonder could see it. Like this:

He didn't want the little Asshole Punk to get away. He grabs onto his hoodie, dropping his keys and small flashlight in the process. Trayvon pulls back, causing the lanyard to be pulled way out on one side where Zimmerman is gripping him.
Then Trayvon, in terror, decides to FIGHT. He throws a left hook catching Zimmerman in the nose. They both go down because he WON'T let go, Zimmerman's head is scratched on the cement. They wrestle, Trayvon on top - trying to disengage - thrashing side to side. Good sees them - Looks like "Pound and Ground" to him from the back, but he doesn't see any blows impact. Doesn't hear a head smacking on concrete. Can't see their hands because George is holding onto Trayvon to KEEP HIM FROM ESCAPING while Trayvon is struggling to get away and screaming "HELP HELP" in panic. George may be yelling too, as he said, "Call the Cops, Help me with this guy" but not as loud, doesn't pick up on Lauer's 9-11 call.
George isn't punching back because his hands are busy gripping Trayvon's hoodie, keeping him from getting up and running away. Trayvon is pushing back, trying to lift up - possibly punching at George, but mostly trying to stand and get away as clearly George doesn't suffer from 20 or 30 separate blows in 40 seconds. (Ali punching speed)
But then suddenly he breaks free... he starts to stand up, still bent over. Their bodies are parallel - at the 90% entry angle - Trayvon's hoodie is pulled forward as he straightens his knees, weighted by the Watermelon flavored Arizona Tea can in his front pocket. Zimmerman, now with Trayvon's weight off of him, reaches behind his right hip - pulls his gun, extending his right arm fully - as he explained in his Police Interview, to make sure he didn't hit his own left hand, spans the extended distance of about 40 inches between them - muzzle contacting the hoodie as Trayvon lifts up, backing away (as one of the ME/Expert Witnesses Contented). Trayvon sees the gun. "No, Don't!". George FIRES striking Trayvon in the heart, collapsing his right lung.
Well, with evidence like that, who could possibly return a verdict of Not Guilty?

I honestly have no idea. I hope he keeps his silly trap shut, but since he loves the sound of his own voice, that's doubtful. I'd guess he'll make some weasel statement about gun violence and how we can't afford to lose more of our sons and daughters (or "our children") to this menace.

I immediately thought what does he know that the rest of us don't. Now, I've listened to little of this, mostly read what other people have written on both sides and a little of savage declaring zimmerman guilty. But that comment seemed totally bizarre and it came at the end and hannity missed it, or did he?
