Fired Whistleblower to Sue Angela Corey, Zimmerman Prosecutors
— Ace

Accountability.

A former employee of Florida State Attorney Angela Corey's office plans to file a whistleblower lawsuit against George Zimmerman's prosecutors, his attorney told Reuters on Tuesday.

...

Ben Kruidbos, Corey's former director of information technology, was fired after testifying at a pre-trial hearing on June 6 that prosecutors failed to turn over potentially embarrassing evidence extracted from Martin's cell phone to the defense, as required by evidence-sharing laws.

"We will be filing a whistleblower action in (Florida's Fourth Judicial District) Circuit Court," said Kruidbos' attorney Wesley White, himself a former prosecutor who was hired by Corey but resigned in December because he disagreed with her prosecutorial priorities. He said the suit will be filed within the next 30 days.

...

Trial law requires prosecutors to share evidence with defense attorneys, especially if it helps exonerate defendants. The requirement is known as the Brady disclosure.

Kruidbos testified last month in a pre-trial hearing that he found photos on Martin's phone that included pictures of a pile of jewelry on a bed, underage nude females, marijuana plants and a hand holding a semi-automatic pistol.

Angela Corey claims Kruidbos "hacked" the pictures, and furthermore claims her office acted totes ethically.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice coordinated with an ACORN-linked "student group" to rouse the rabble against Zimmerman.

None of the "student" activists are students, of course; they all work for a Florida corporation called Dream Defenders. One of them, named Baden, has very direct links to the Martin family lawyer:

Baden began working as an organizer (with Pendas) in college (8:50 to 9:00) and has held at least three organizing jobs. As first reported yesterday on Breitbart.com by Lee Stranahan, for at least two years (2005-06) Baden worked as “Head of Activism“ at Parks & Crump, the law firm currently representing Travon Martin’s family (as Stranahan details, she focused her paid activism work on a racially charged case involving the death of another African-American teenager, which provided the “playbook” for the Travon Martin case, and at one point she apparently helped lead a mob that blocked rush-hour traffic in Florida’s capitol).

That tip via @comradearthur, who says it just gets worse and worse. Indeed. The death of our nation has been community-organized.

34 He hacked the pictures? Does that mean she thinks they are fake? The following is pure speculation. I have no proof for any of it, but it makes sense to me: I think that they were encrypted by some app on the Thug's phone. Having a pretty good idea what they'd find (Corey knew he was a thug, don't believe anyone who says otherwise), they elected not to attempt to decrypt the pictures- thus avoiding "discovery." When Mr. Kruidbos decided to decrypt them anyway (most of these apps are not actually all that secure), he made it so that (technically) the Prosecution had to turn those over. It is my further belief that this further explains why the prosecution fought so hard to exclude the photos from the trial. Not only were they incredibly harmful to the State's case, their inclusion would make any filing against Ms. Corey almost sure to succeed (violating discovery is a big, big no-no). By excluding it from the trial, they at least have the fig leaf of "well, of course we didn't share it, it wasn't relevant."

I wondered what had happened to this man.   Good for him!    I hope he makes Corey and her cronies pay through the nose and out the ass.

Angela Corey claims Kruidbos "hacked" the pictures, and furthermore claims her office acted totes ethically.

How exactly does one "hack" pictures   like this?   Is she claiming that Kruidbos put the pictures on Martin's phone?   Because that would seem to me to be a whole other kettle of fish.   Or is she saying that he hacked INTO Martin's phone to get the pictures?   In which case.... so   the fuck what?    For all they knew, there were deleted photos on the phone of George Zimmerman making threatening  gestures toward Traytable, and retrieving those photos would have been a boon for their case.   The fact that   the photos that WERE found on the phone were damaging to their false   image of   St. Triscuit is immaterial.

40 Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are readying a flurry of bills in response to George Zimmerman’s acquittal on charges in last year’s fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. The lawmakers are drafting proposals intended to rein in racial profiling; scrap state stand-your-ground laws; and promote better training for the nation’s neighborhood watch volunteers, among other anti-violence measures. CBC members had remained largely silent throughout the trial, but following the verdict, argued forcefully that, decades after the civil rights movement, the nation’s criminal justice system still discriminates against blacks and other minorities. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), an icon of the civil rights era, said the decision “seems to justify the stalking and killing of innocent black boys and deny them any avenue of self-defense.” What a bunch of stupid losers. 48 Judge Debra Nelson ruled that pictures and texts from Martin's cell phone were inadmissible, after prosecutors argued that it couldn't be proven Martin actually took the pictures and wrote the texts on his phone. Which is bullshit. The material was admissible and it was up to the jury to determine what weight if any to give it. Also, one of the arguements by the defense was that due to the states failure to turn it over in a timely fashion and Judge Fatass's failure to grant them a continuance, did not allow them sufficient time to track down witnesses to lay a foundation for the evidence and also support the defense theory of the case.

NRO looks at CoreyÂ’s personal vendettas.  This scrunt should be disbarred and sued into oblivion, then jailed for misconduct.  And yes she should get just as “fair” a trial as the people she has jailed.

I don't know about FL, but in TX, brandishing your weapon (without the intent of shooting in self-defense) is itself a crime. I think it's defined as a type of assault, but I'd have to double-check that. If they'd had any *proof* of that, they would have shown it at trial. To say it now is slander.

In the 1930Â’s, there was a Mob hitman named “Pittsburgh Phil” Strauss.  He never carried a weapon, in case the police picked him up; heÂ’d always look for any helpful tool near his victim to help him with the murder.

One of his favorite ways of killing people was to get them drunk, then jam an ice pick in their ear.  Completely undetectable.  But the story I have is when he went down to Florida once, meeting up with another mobster.  “IÂ’ve been sent down to whack Joe Blow,” Strauss told him.  “and I need to get rid of the body.”

“I know the perfect place,” the hood said.  He led Strauss deep into the swamps and the two dug a grave.  Strauss climbed out.

“Actually, Frankie, the mob sent me here to kill you,” Strauss told the mobster who was still standing in the grave.  “But thanks for helping me out.”  And he killed him.

88 I don't know about FL, but in TX, brandishing your weapon (without the intent of shooting in self-defense) is itself a crime. I think it's defined as a type of assault, but I'd have to double-check that. At the bare minimun, it'll get the slam dunk of disturbing the peace.

91 If Rick Scott is a smart politician he will toss Angela Corey off the state boat like chum.  Take the stink onus off himself.

He can do it by saying he was not satisfied with her performance in the Zimmerman case, that he has lost faith in her abilities, and is therefor removing her from her post due to non-performance.

Posted by: Anna Puma (+SmuD) at July 17, 2013 06:52 AM (xywpL)

92 So the DOJ worked with the bogus "student" group to push for prosecution of Zimmerman, which happened to be aligned with Trayvon's family's lawyer....and this same protest mob is demanding Holder/DOJ pursue charges against Zimmerman. This is all theater. Gee, how could Zimmerman get fair treatment when the DOJ is working with the angry mob calling for his death?

How is this different from the eco groups that sue the EPA, and then the EPA "settles" with them in court and agrees to implement the eco group's preferred regulations?
It's all theater - they're all working together. And the worst part is that these activists groups are likely funded by taxpayers.

95 "He hacked the pictures? Does that mean she thinks they are fake?" I suspect Junior Lawgiver Corey means that the tech obtained the photos after bypassing Martin's phone and application security. I think all of the evidence on the phone had to obtained that way, which was a strong argument that it was untampered with and genuine. I wonder if she's setting up an argument that whistleblower's "hacking" was illegal because it was outside the scope of his official duties, as defined by Corey's priorities. Under today's computer crime statutes pretty much we're all felons, if they want us to be. But, really, only a completely unethical and insanely vindictive prosecutor would try to argue that police evidence gathering becomes a criminal act when it favors the defense. So I'm sure he'll be fine.

Posted by: GalosGann at July 17, 2013 06:52 AM (T3KlW)

96 So the DA's theory of things is that no texts, pics, data, or calls logged on a phone can be used as evidence as you can not prove who created/sent them.

Someplace I read that in addition to gun, drug and violence related stuff the IT guy also found pictures of young underage women in the nude on St. Trayvon's phone. That would make him guilty of child porn, no?

Yes!  It would.  There have recently been some teenagers who have been arrested for having pics of nude, underaged friends on their phones.

Trayvon would also be guilty of gay bashing.  As Rush pointed out, according to Rachel Genteal's interview with Piers (and her court testimony), Trayvon thought GZ was gay and so he beat him up.

Yup. With an assist from the MSM, they've whipped up an angry mob convinced our country is rife with racism - and now they're picking targets. Zimmerman's only the first. Sebelius just fingered people who don't support O-care. Next it will be anyone who opposes "comprehensive immigration reform", which Obama will be crossing the country to campaign for. Pretty much every white male now has a target on their backs.

211 Thief. Housebreaker. Loadie. Bully-thug proud of sucker-punching people who cross him.   All of these descriptives  attach, or likely will attach, to the "innocent" Trayvon.

But apparently young black maleness is supposed to cancel out suspicion of anyone aimlessly loitering in a crime-plagued neighborhood in bad weather who isn't walking anywhere, but  looking into the houses nearby.  It is supposed to cancel out suspicion when he takes notice of a watcher and he comes over to make aggressive gestures, then taking off running.

My lib friends keep coming back to this one essential effrontery - that Trayvon drew suspicion,  that anyone would notice him and think him up to no good,  that the police were called at all.  It's because "racism"  even if Trayvon had been trying to hook up with some codeine, or check out some future looting prospects.

The initiation of the use of force for self defense, while not strictly forbidden has a *very* high bar that has to be met if you are in public when you do it. I've lived in shitty neighborhoods. I've been followed before. You just can't stalk and attack whomever is doing it on whim. You've got to do your level best to extricate yourself before you attack your follower.

The history of adjudicating deadly force actions shows that Trayvon Martin was “armed” two or three times over. ------- The operative principle at law is called “disparity of force.” It means that while your opponent(s) may not be armed with a deadly weapon per se, their physical advantage over you is so great that if their ostensibly unarmed assault continues, you are likely to die or suffer grave bodily harm. That disparity of force may take the form of a much larger and stronger assailant, a male attacking a female, force of numbers, able-bodied attacking the handicapped, skilled fighter attacking the unskilled, or – in this case – position of disadvantage.

256 Regarding police scanning cameras on hoods and trunks of patrol cars--I had been wondering what those were. It seems to me that if there is to be no privacy for the public in public, neither should there be for those being paid by the public in public--the police. If the police may record you incessantly without cause the public should be able to do the same to the police, without being assaulted by the police. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. Police simply need to start accepting being recorded in execution of their duties, since they are increasingly having no issues recording the public. In fact, if all police can now record their daily patrols as a routine matter, then they should have no objections to wearing Google glasses or other such sort as a routine matter, and that no arrest made without personal POV video will be considered valid in court.

Legal Insurrection has a great article of Trayvon's upbringing (or lack thereof).  His father was a member of The Crips, and Trayvon spent most of his years living with his dad.  His mom, for some reason, seemed to be quite fine with that.  He only lived with his mother for very short periods of time, and she gave him the boot knowing he had nowhere else to go but his Aunt's house (where his Crip father was also staying).  Son of a thug, who woulda thought.

Conservative Treehouse has a bunch of articles exposing Tracy Martin.  In one of them, they show the tattoo "CaT" that was on Martin's neck ("Crippin' All Time).   It was changed into praying hands somewhere between 3/22 and 3/26.

Really basic cursive. That handwriting may as well have come from a 5th grade worksheet. I'll admit that sometimes I can't read my dad's handwriting in cursive, but that letter told me that she can't read very well, period.

325 MCCAIN ORCHESTRATES ANOTHER GOP SURRENDER Sen. John McCain spent the weekend negotiating with Majority Leader Harry Reid on a deal to avert Reid's threatened use of the "nuclear option" to change Senate rules to eliminate filibusters on Presidential nominations. Through his efforts, McCain was able to secure a complete GOP capitulation on 7 pending nominations. Reid secured all the benefits of exercising the "nuclear option" without the political cost of actually using it. McCain is now a for all intent and purposes a dem. he can go fuck himself

326 I'm feeling a blog-post coming on.

"The Real Story In the Zimmerman Trial- The Failure of Public Schools."

--------------

This is actually perilously close to the truth. If his Miami Gardens school hadn't decided to relax standards on what offenses they report to the police (to make it look like they had cleaned up the schools in their statistics, you see), he might be in jail right now for vandalism, burglary and MJ possession rather then having just been suspended twice.

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), an icon of the civil rights era, said the decision “seems to justify the stalking and killing of innocent black boys and deny them any avenue of self-defense.”

Why We Lose #3,459: Democrats  can engage in open, direct appeals  to the racial fears of their base without any fear of GOP blowback.

The GOP allows Dems to deploy weapons  that we cannot. Stupid. Stupid.

@225 Most credible black professors don't want to teach at a tier 4 school like a HBCU.

Strangely enough, the few people I know who were professors at HBCUs were actually white (Computer Science professor) or Hispanic (Spanish professor).

When my son was undergoing chemo, I took a job in the Business School at Morgan State (an HBCU in Baltimore) so he could be treated at Johns Hopkins.  It was one very strange place.  I've taught at 5 universities, and by far, the standards were the lowest there of all four.  It was also weird since I was the only untenured Cracka in the Business school.  So I was constantly watching what I said, how I reacted, and so on.

And Zombie - if they filmed Jentealnado, it would have to be done in widescreen.

Why are you so hateful, Hatey McHaterson? ******** Fuck, you're right. Holding the democrat party its various organized crime arms accountable is only driving the moderates from the party, the party is on such a quest for purity THAT NOT EVEN RONALD REAGAN COULD GET NOMINATED. lolzl, I love the concern trolling, why do we keep nominating fire brand extremists like McCain and Romney, as well as the tepid George W and George HW, 4 politicians that are so embarassed of the GOP that they've consistently failed to even articulate, let alone defend, conservative politics.

341 The photos and text messages were hidden by an app that is used to hide things from police etc...  The software the police have has an add-on that allows it to find these files and decrypt them.  The first guy in the prosecutors office who got the phone failed to do this.  Ben did it and let the prosecutors know there was more relevant information.  None of this is very sophisticated as one of the techniques the add-on used to hide things was changing the file extension.

The prosecutors never turned the unencrypted information over to the defense, although it may have been in the source file unencrypted... my memory does not contain that information.  They DID ask Ben how much it would cost the defense to buy the software he used to decrypt it though --- thus showing what game they were playing.  That should be considered evidence of a guilty mind as they were inquiring as to what impediments the defense would face if they had to discover the exculpatory evidence for themselves.

I read that in Florida, The SYG laws favor blacks 2-1 in criminal defense cases.  The political and grievance motivations to get rid of this law will back fire on the people they say that they want to protect.

I also hope that GZ files a lawsuit against Corey & BLDR as well.  After he was aquitted she was on TV calling him a murderer.

Stupid. Stupid. - Right. A white equivalent of that anti-white would be purged from the GOP and even from conservatism as racist. It's all one-way traffic. The left is one united block. The right purges people like John Derbyshire on the say-so of the left. Which side is going to win, by those rules?

CJOffermann said LetÂ’s all band together and Alinsky the Alinsky Crew.

Civil Rights Prosecution of Angela Corey by United States Department of Justice for She Deliberately Withheld Evidence

Civil Rights Prosecution of Angela Corey by United States Department of Justice for the unlawful Prosecution of George Zimmerman for depriving him of his Constitutional Rights of Life and Liberty by the United States Department of Justice, Eric Holder, United States Attorney General in United States District Court as swiftly and expeditiously as is possible.

Angela Corey is alleged to have omitted material exculpatory facts, such as photographs of the wounds on George Zimmerman's head, which go to his defense of "self defense."

She was aware when she submitted an affidavit that it did not contain the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She deliberately withheld evidence that supported ZimmermanÂ’s claim of self-defense.

I couldn't figure out how to get this comments section to a accept the link.
