1 Paella-steamed(?)

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at March 02, 2013 06:05 AM (Uhg6n)

2 Muscles. Chicky.

Posted by: guido at March 02, 2013 06:06 AM (A0wk8)

3 Paella. Mussels with chicken and chorizo sausage. Probably clams as well. Cooked in olive oil, then Simmered and then finished on the oven floor.

Posted by: nucelarjim at March 02, 2013 06:06 AM (n+KTB)

4 Looks like a riff on a paella. Mussels, short grain rice like bomba or valencia, that might be chorizo there, peas, some other protein, maybe chicken?

Posted by: Lauderdale Vet at March 02, 2013 06:07 AM (TvWSF)

5 Paella, and I only know that from this catalog I get in the mail....Tienda.  Cooked in an expensive paella pan that you must have to properly cook paella.  I know, because Tienda is trying to sell me one.

Posted by: Lady in Black at March 02, 2013 06:07 AM (ATdet)

6 Looks like the sequester has decimated AOSHQ. Just like Obama said.

Posted by: blaster at March 02, 2013 06:07 AM (/1U3u)

7 Ha. And I thought I was going to be first.

Posted by: Lauderdale Vet at March 02, 2013 06:07 AM (TvWSF)

8 Its paella definitely

Posted by: guido at March 02, 2013 06:07 AM (A0wk8)

9 Paella was my guess too... But does Paella have peas?

Posted by: theworldisnotenough at March 02, 2013 06:08 AM (QYlN7)

10 Probably scallops

Posted by: guido at March 02, 2013 06:09 AM (A0wk8)

11 P.S. Please post something I don't like to eat. Then I won't be forced to gobble a tsp of Peanut Butter because I'm hungry and ate breakfast three hours ago. ;^)

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at March 02, 2013 06:11 AM (Uhg6n)

12 So now that we know it is paella,  let's figure out how much it costs,  not counting the expensive paella pan that Tiena is trying to sell Lady in Black.

13 Why do they have thier little mouths open?

14 Had lots of paella...never sausage...its a creative thing. It was all seafood at Pepes in Tampa.

Posted by: guido at March 02, 2013 06:12 AM (A0wk8)

15 Not exactly a paella. I spot mussels, chicken, chorizo, peas and rice. No rabbit, langoustines or prawns, so it's not exactly a paella???

Posted by: J.J. Sefton at March 02, 2013 06:12 AM (48jWE)

16 The Washington Press Corps as Obama faps?  Sorry, I'm not usually this crude, but it seemed appropriate.  The one on the upper RHS might be Bob Woodward.

17 @13 if they don't then you shouldn't eat them - they died before you had a chance to kill them by cooking them and that's bad for you. Pretty much all the same for them.

Posted by: chuckR at March 02, 2013 06:14 AM (WE9pd)

18 Okay, it's a paella but probably Portuguese style? The chorizo is linguisa???

Posted by: J.J. Sefton at March 02, 2013 06:14 AM (48jWE)

19 where's the saffron that MUST be in paella?

20 Mouths open because they died screaming. Eat up!! Call Peta!

21 #15 I spot mussels, chicken, chorizo, peas and rice.

No rabbit, langoustines or prawns, so it's not exactly a paella???

Of course not!  This is a SEQUESTER Paella!  Substitutions and cutbacks!

The next one will be made with crawdads, starlings,  and hominy.

22 It's food.  F^%$ off your stupid contest.  Learn the difference between "it's" and "its."  Morons.  Oh wait, I'm one of those too.

23 19 where's the saffron that MUST be in paella? Posted by: kawfytawk at March 02, 2013 10:14 AM (qdzWt) The saffron will lend that orange/yellow color that is a signature of the dish. The strands are small and may not be visible in this photo.

Posted by: J.J. Sefton at March 02, 2013 06:18 AM (48jWE)

30 The shells are round so I'm gonna say clams, steamed with rice and peas and some kind of fried pork or chicken folded in.

Posted by: CrotchetyOldJarhead at March 02, 2013 06:18 AM (SsP73)

33 Can't be ordinary chicken. Hastabe exotic fowl. Cornish Game Hen, Squab, Pheasant, Partridge

Can't be plain peas, gottabe multicultural peas. Same for the rice.

Hastabe some special secret sauce.....and whodahell puts fowl 'n shellfish in da same pot? Why that would be like cooking steak and lobster together, or cats and dogs in da same house, ya know?

38 And for the record the Paella refers to the pan and not what's in the pan.

Traditionally it rice, vegetables and whatever meat is available.

Seafood paella is what we most associate with "paella" but that is only one variety.

My son was down there five years ago.   He won a trip at Thanksgiving and was in the bar watch an ACC BB game.  He got offered coke, marijuana and sex in less than an hour.

Said it wasn't interested and they told him to leave.  A gringo that doesn't want to pay to get laid was not welcome.

CPR is a fucking waste of time.  OK keep the brain alive till the AED gets there.  No Defib, they dead. The number of people CPR saves without the Defib?  Like one in 20,000. Some ridiculous number.

Also, all the EMTs teaching the course said they are NOT be organ donors.  Just saying, they see were that leads, so I am taking it off my license this year.

206 What, not being a donor or CPR.  The EMT's basically said organ donors get put in the fuck you pile if they look like they have healthy shit to harvest.

CPR, just pushing blood to the brain, it's not going to restart your heart.  That pounding on your chest?  Just to push the blood to the brain.  The breathing into the lungs?  Just to keep oxygen in the system.

Get that fucking AED there.  If you are in a club or at your office with older people, get a fucking AED.  They cost about $1200.

THEY WORK!

231 I believe they practiced nesting behavior, keeping their young in a safe place and bringing food to them, as do birds. Mososaurs were aquatic reptiles, air-breathers, more analagous to dolphins than to sharks.

Paleontologists have found "middens" or concentrations of ammonite shells with mososaur tooth-marks on them, suggesting that the big fellows captured prey out to sea, and brought it back to the nest. I've seen those fossil shells with the toothmarks on them myself; these are big shells, about the diameter of the tires on a small car.

237 194 Dual-Fuel Coleman...

Hate to disillusion you, because the so-called dual-fuel coleman lanterns are able to use either "Coleman Fuel" (AKA "White Gasoline") or unleaded gasoline.  They do make a Kerosene version of their liquid fueled lantern, but do not ever, ever put gasoline or Coleman Fuel in it, unless you love to live very dangerously.

When unleaded gasoline became generally available, Coleman made a marketing decision to start calling their white-gas-burning appliances "dual-fueled."  Of course, they had always been able to run (for a while, anyway) on leaded gasoline, but would eventually plug up from the combustion deposits, and would slowly poison anyone who breathed the fumes that contained small amounts of vaporized lead.

259 A quick Coleman lantern story.  I had a brand new lantern and was up in the woods with my son.  We had made a camp fire, and as good scouts we had ditched a fire break around it.  Gotten dirt and shovel.  It was very dry.

Son, wants to fire up the Coleman.  So I get out the fuel and start to fill it up about ten feet from the campfire.   The fumes from the fuel drifted over to the campfire and caught the damn can on fire.  I threw it, I was afraid it would explode.

Coleman fuel on fire is like napalm.  Some of it when on my tent, burned the fly and the rest spread out in the woods.

Thank god we had dirt and shovel to put it all out, or we would have burned down 2,000 acres.

Coleman fuel is dangerous stuff. Be careful.
