Funny PSA With a Good Message
— Dave in Texas

Every funny thing has some truth in it. This one has more truth than funny.

If you can hire a vet, hire a vet. They rarely disappoint.

If you haven't read this, read it. It will make you smile. DrewM pointed out the honor of "piping ashore" is "reserved for flag officers, Commanding officers of other ships, installations or commands and high ranking VIPs (like POTUS, SecDef and Bud)."

Mostly Bud.

UPDATE: Me and my lack of attribution manners. The story about Bud was linked on FB by my Splitter friends MCPO and some cheesehead in Wisconsin (Brewfan). And the PSA from Michael Broderick, who happens to be a close, personal friend of mine.

UPDATE 2: Oh my. Idrivewarships posted video of Bud being piped ashore. (tipped by Andy, @JennsLenz on twitter)

below the thing..

damn

Godspeed Bud.

9 Yep. Vets are every bit as qualified as M.D.s (more so -- people who can't get into vet school generally become people doctors as their second choice), plus they take cash without any Obamacare bullshit. Oh, that kind of vet. Yep, hire them too. I've never been disappointed with anyone who got an honorable discharge (or was an active-duty service member).

At his graveside service there was a man standing in the snow several yards away with a Coast Guard flag. He left quietly, but we found out later he followed the obits and did this for all the WWII vets he could.

116 90 --- No, Mr. DeVille is still around, thank heaven! I know what you mean about confusing people's stories though. I know there are some of us who have lost their better halves but like you I can't always keep it straight. Zeke was very unpleasant and pompous back then. (I don't think that's changed!) He also used to argue for euthanasia of the old and of the severely disabled, especially babies. When Zeke said he was going to go to med school, Mr. DeVille and all of his friends shuddered. In fairness, he no longer believes in actively killing people who aren't "useful." He strongly opposes assisted suicide now, so I guess he's improved a bit. He just doesn't think "useless" people should get treatment. Cold man. BTW, I (and many others here for sure) pray for your brother every day. You're a good sister!

202 Great story about Bud. And the crew of The Dewey. As to Law and Order, I used to "date" a girl that thought it was the best thing on TV, so I suffered through it a few times. My favorite was when Belarus character apologized to a wrongly accused black teen "on behalf of my people." I literally spit beer all over (laughing) - we didn't last much longer after that.

204 Kelly shouldn't give an inch get in Emmanuel's face call him a LIAR. Have a security guard standing by and when he starts screaming have the guard pick him up by the arm and escort him out. Turn to the camera apologize for his jerky behavior and STATE we here at Fox will no longer allow anyone to lie to the American Public. Then replay, replay, replay. Damn if the ratings wouldn't go thru the roof might even pull in some LIV 'S, nothing they like better than a skerfuffle.

Yeah - Farrell replaced Rogers - if they had been on the set at the same time, there might have been some interesting arguments.

Before I even knew anything about the actor's politics, I liked the Trapper John character more - he was funnier. When "BJ Hunnicut" sensitive nice married guy from Mill Valley came on, that's when Hawkeye also started getting more '70's sensitive and Hot Lips became a more sympathetic character - the show was less mean and also less funny.

Zeke will regret the day he mocked and derided Megyn Kelly with his accusatory comments about Fox News.

Fox has posted the exchange online, and it will be a topic of discussion tomorrow on both Fox News and Fox Business.

The Fox regulars will chide this buffoon and make his idiotic comments a regular news story for wide denomination.  The blogs will pick it up and the commentary will be delicious.
