Er... maybe this guy didn't notice, but Kerry is running again. http://t.co/WAUuVuZ3yp #bankonit
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) September 9, 2013
I want to call him demented, but I have to say, it makes some sense.
Hillary is a strong Democratic contender, though, but... not that strong, really. She's a bit of a paper tigress. I mean, Obama beat her by saying "hope" and "change."
Kerry is of course awful, and of course, sometimes says things so profoundly dumb one is tempted to blame it on liquor. (In case the links don't work there, the post began with Kerry's 2004 statement, "I have five words for America: This is your wake up call" and insisting "I'm so pumped." Some believed he was a little tipsy.)
But who knows. Who knows. Worse things have happened, worse things could happen, and they almost certainly will.

What's really bad is that whoever the Democrats nominate stands a good chance of winning in the general election because the Republicans seem bent on self-immolation.

It was a lot more bare-knuckled than that, behind closed doors. Obama beat her Chicago-style. He won ugly.
Obama bussed in big, loud, unpleasant people to openly intimidate the mild-mannered locals into leaving the Iowa caucuses early.
Obama engaged in the same sort of fraudulent shenanigans in states with polling-place primaries that he would later use in the general election. (BOTH general elections.)
Hillary's fundraising was corrupt as hell, as usual for the Clintons, but Obama's fundraising was infinitely worse. That business with Obama allowing overseas noncitizen donors to illegally contribute via credit card started in the primary season.
Then finally, in South Carolina, when Obama needed to put Hillary away once and for all, he cynically played the black-church homophobia gambit, putting on stage at an Obama rally one of those lunatic "ex-gay" types who claims that homosexuality is a "disease" that can be "cured". (Note that the media helpfully avoided mentioning this matter around gay-friendly potential Obama voters elsewhere.)
And, the _sub rosa_ message from Team Obama to Team Hillary was this:
"If you dare to say anything in public about our Chicago-style politicking, we'll indignantly accuse you of playing the race card. Not only that, playing it against the first credible black candidate for President. If you then by some long shot win the '08 primaries, black America will stay home in the general and you'll lose that. And they won't turn out for you in any future election either."

The Koreans have been trying to sell back M1 GarandÂ’s that were lent
to them around the time of the Korean war but the US Government has
blocked the importation.
The Korean news website The Chosun llbo has an article about the sale Â…
A Korean government official said, “It’s difficult to understand why the U.S. opposes the deal now, when we already shipped tens of thousands of these firearms to the U.S. in the early 1990s. We are trying to grasp the real underlying cause of this reversal through diplomatic channels.” He added that because these firearms were originally made in the U.S., selling them back needs approval from Washington.

Weird minds think alike. This same thought, a Kerry run, passed through my mind while I was chomping on a tuna sandwich at lunch today. Why not? Out of vanity, it was probably one of the reasons he took the position. Plus it explains all of the bellicose statements and grandstanding during this Syria crap [needed, in his mind, to establish some foreign policy cred/sound bites to block out the telephone batteries to the genitals Winter Soldier shit.]
BTW did those dicks in the Senate ask him for his discharge papers, etc. Didn't think so. Do the Dems have anyone to run for President who isn't a traitor or commie or who doesn't think like one? Just askin'. "Moral Obscenity"

In response to your somewhat derogatory statement, I understand the GOP Establishment is quite enamored of a fellow named Jeb Bush, who was Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. According to some sources, Jeb Bush is movie star handsome, charming, witty, urbane, and cuts quite the dashing figure. The power of Jeb Bush's rhetoric is said to cause ladies to swoon and ordinarily heterosexual men to question their preferences. Jeb Bush was, according to these same sources, tellingly born under the sign of Aquarius (!) and enjoys walks on the beach in moonlight, and--because of his amazing Jeb Bush mind powers--Jeb Bush leaves no footprints.
The creases on Jeb Bush's trousers? Razor sharp.

Lurch isn't very popular throughout the donk party. The 2004 vote count was barely over when Marty Peretz wrote a guest op ed in the wsj about how glad he was that the pompous ass had lost to GWB. A lot of it was due to sore feelings between manbearpig and Reporting for Doody but it sounded deeper than just that.
Posted by: Captain Hate on an iPhone at September 09, 2013 06:50 PM (a4LHk)
Before he turned to the dark side, David Mamet wrote a scathing op-ed after the 2004 election lamenting the re-election of W, and expressing profound disappointment with Kerry. He also came *this close* to calling Kerry a pussy for the collapse of his campaign in the last week (I'm sure it was in the first draft).
I suspect that the lefties started to think something was up with Mamet after that......

I have to say I'm actually pretty pumped about the Democrat primary for the 2016 campaign. Lurch vs. the tagteam of Teh Hildebeast & Huma vs. Slow Joe should be pure entertainment itself. But I'm thinking a dark horse (RACIST!!!) might pop up if the Latino mayors of either LA or San Antonio opt to run. You heard it here first, but I think there might be a chance either or both might run. Probably under the slogan "What can brown do for you?"
