Bad News: "Morning Joe" Scarborough and Mika Brezezezzzz Are Pitching Themselves As Replacements
— Ace The Good Lord giveth, and then he taketh your breath away.
Fearless NBC News boss Deborah Turness is turning her attention to her troubled Sunday talk show, “Meet the Press” — asking staff to write a mission statement and explain what works and what doesn’t, The Post has learned....
With “Meet the Press” slipping in the ratings, WME’s Ari Emanuel has been making a serious pitch for his clients, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” to take over, several sources said.
Oh, but they're not the only two possibilities. NBC is really thinking outside the box as far as hosts.
...Turness could find a cure for the show’s blues by raiding ABC News’ “Good Morning America” host, George Stephanopoulos, whose contract expires in January, some TV insiders said.
...
The network has seen “Meet the Press” rack up some of the worst ratings in decades in recent months, though network insiders claim that both CBS and ABC engage in unfair ratings measures to boost their numbers.

Oh FFS.
First off, your mission statement is something that should be established when the project first launches. If you're going to change the mission statement, you should just start fresh.
Secondly, what the hell is this, some bullshit corporate retreat? The only times I've been asked to contribute a mission/vision statement have been a bullshit office "bonding" activities that are supposed to make us work as a cohesive group. All anyone ever does is write the most mind-numbing pap they can think of that SOUNDS like what the boss wants to hear. Lots of "synergy" and "growth" and "expanding to new horizons" and shit like that.

We can call it "Donkey Punch the Press".
Every time the host asks a dumb, left leaning setup question they get donkey punched by the guest.
I bet that would get better ratings.

So why the drop in ratings? Is it Gregory? (yup) Is it the stench of MSNBC ruining the traditional NBC News brand? (a bigger reason IMO, and one that they will eternally be in denial about.)
Actions have consequences, NBC. Even your primetime entertainment is lagging because most of it that doesn't involve singing and judges is ALSO leftist bait.

People don't trust them because the reporting is predictable and most often takes a liberal slant. If anything has exposed their dishonesty its been the Obama presidency.
I honestly don't know how you fix that. It is really analogous to moving the deck chairs on the Titanic. In the end it doesn't change the result.
Almost above everyone else, I blame the press for our almost total collapse and ruin as a nation. If they would have honestly scrutinized candidates and issues in pursuit of the truth, we would be a much different nation today.

YES! Gah. That was one of the things that was so great about the LotR trilogy -- there was the perfect balance of CGI to prosthetics. I know that CGi is probably cheaper in the long run, but it's just so OBVIOUS, and it really detracts from the overall story. When Thranduil and legolas were interrogating that one captured orc, I was so glad that it was an actor in costume, not just some guy in a CGI suit.
Also, they didn't need to make Legolas's eyes look so elvish. His regular old eyes were just fine.

I can only assume that the reason he was passed over was because he ruffled too many feathers by being the only friggin' non-Fox journo in White House press room to actually pose tough questions to Obama and his spokesman. (It certainly isn't because he's disliked personally, at least from what I've heard secondhand -- haven't met the guy, but by all reports he's a chill dude.)
Maybe Meet the Press will do the smart thing and poach Tapper away from CNN, though they'll have to pay out the nose for the privilege. On the downside, this would mean I might have to actually start watching NBC again, even if only for one show.
