The word "might" should not be there.
This is scandalous.
But everyone got a huge pile of money, right? That's all that matters. That's all that matters.

I quoted this from the newswires right after the re-coronation of King Putt:
"Russ Schriefer, one of Mr. Romney's top strategists on his most recent presidential bid, left on Thursday for 'four or five days of skiing' in Davos, Switzerland. His wife, a journalist, was already headed there for a conference, and he decided to tag along. Though the couple hosted an inauguration party four years ago for out-of-town friends, Mr. Schriefer said that this time, 'the thrill is gone.'"
Yep. The establishment Republican Party paid astronomical amounts of money to a bunch of Beltway buttmunches who are part of the permanent political establishment, who host parties to celebrate Barack Obama taking office, which they call a "thrill", and who casually jet off to Davos for a few days.
A party that was genuinely serious about winning back power would have taken these losers, fired all their worthless asses, destroyed their careers and futures, and driven them weeping into outer darkness, never to return.
That this hasn't happened tells you how unserious the party establishment remains.

She is totally clueless...and it a so-called 'Republican Fund Raiser'.
She never had anything good to say about Perry, and was one of those pushing Romney from the get go.

By law, television stations offer political candidates advertising rates that are much lower than those offered to other advertisers. Cable companies also offer discounted rates. They aren't supposed to charge one candidate more than another.

THIS. I can't help but sadly laugh at the GOP freak out at trying to get the Latino vote....yet not giving a shit about their conservative base. I'm thinking they've really screwed themselves over at this point because they've alienated millions of conservatives who will no longer vote for them and their "lesser evil" status. Yet, these dopes are totally unaware that's what they've done.

BTW - the text for the graph from the report:
Throughout 2012, the Obama and Romney campaigns spent deliberately on online display ad campaigns as the U.S. presidential election went underway.
Despite delivering more than a billion display ads overall, the Romney campaign was still significantly outmatched by the Obama campaign. Both campaignsÂ’ ad impression trends also showed differences in strategy.
Advertising for Team Romney peaked in July prior to the conventions (409 million ads), but the Obama campaign was already surpassing that volume in late 2011 to try and engage voters. By the beginning of 2012 the campaign was delivering nearly 1 billion ads per month and reached an eventual peak of 2.5 billion just before the general election in October.
comscore.com 2013_US_Digital_Future_in_Focus
So Mitt was buying online ads to win the primary, not the election.
Did we mention he was the most electable?

Ms. Napolitano, testifying to the SenateJudiciary Committee, said the Border Patrol has been beefed up, hundreds of miles of fencing have been built, and her department is deporting a record number of illegal immigrants.
She said those efforts will ensure there is no repeat of 1986, when amnesty was supposed to be coupled with better immigration enforcement, but the government didnÂ’t follow through.
“Immigration enforcement now is light-years away from what it was in 1986,” she said.

In a Wednesday conference call, Chris Crane, an ICE agent and the president of the union for ICE agents, referred to the Immigration and Nationality ActÂ’s provision that is aimed at keeping new immigrants from draining the nationÂ’s public assistance coffers, The Daily Caller reported.
“It is certainly part of what we are supposed to be doing. It is definitely a federal statute within the [Immigration and Nationality Act]. However, I will say this: that in my career, I have never seen or heard of the charge being applied in any case to anyone,” he said, according to The Daily Caller.

Candidates are offered something called Lowest Unit Rate (LUR), which is the lowest rates a station can charge. However, this rate can change greatly based on when an ad is booked and how competitive a market is. Booking earlier always means lower rates than booking it week to week. The downside of booking early is that the competition knows your plans and the element of surprise is gone.

plus being 100% sure of impending cataclysm makes you look bad when it doesn't happen.
The sky is falling, but it hasn't landed yet so everything's awesome, eh? I mean more their approach at life, than yours, JDP. The thing is all the things that could wipe this civilization out are still on the table and generally getting worse, mostly due to government interference to avoid them happening right now.
How long do you think the stock market can keep testing all time highs when every major country in the world is reporting GDP declines?
How long can Bernanke keep counterfeiting before something other than stocks start seeing (irreversible) runaway inflation?
Most of the new debt being created these days (the only way Ben can get money into circulation) is through loans to students being charged exponentially increasing tuition rates. How long can that go on when half of all graduates can't find work?
Obamacare? Do I need to say any more?
It will land eventually. And there are only two possible outcomes. Ben runs out of ways to inflate things and forced deleveraging leads to massive wealth destruction and the end of all pensions and savings. Or runaway inflation destroys the dollar and only those with some capacity to barter have any shot at survival. That's it.

Well I suppose if you don't care how anything works, you can just pretend there's no consequence to any decision and we should join the democrats in partying on.
I'm not breaking any news here. Bernanke testified before congress before QE got underway that he was going to pump up the stock market through printing and that the false sense of wealth he created was going to lead to a virtuous cycle where people spent more and got the economy going, which would in turn replace his fake value with actual productive, demand based value.
Here's a hint how that's going. The reported US GDP numbers shrank last quarter (by a negligible amount, but it qualifies as "not growth"). While there are 12 million more people of working age in this country than when Obama took office, there are 4 million fewer people actually working. What's more likely? Ben's plan magically works now when it's only made things worse for four years running, or stock evaluations move to match reality? The latter has consequences for the claims of solvency of pension funds (and that's before getting into the fact that most of them pretend they're getting 8% annual returns on their investments).
And even if you don't like all the "the Fed is an abomination" talk, what about Obamacare? You think all the resources sucked out of useful things in order to pay for Obamacultist health care is going to happen without adverse effects?

It's either or for these fanatics. They view the Republican Party as their personal domain and refuse to expand and embrace new voters.
I am glad you are speaking reason around here.

The onus is on you. You made the accusation. The truth is you can't admit Obama beat Romney.

Darian, I've just finished reading some of your fiction. Please note: in our reality, people running for their lives to get away from an indescribably horrible creature; that is, a creature you forgot to describe, rarely allow their minds to segue into a lengthy nostalgic flashback sequence--you know, since they're running for their lives to get away from an indescribably horrible creature. They'd be puppy chow before they got to the second sentence describing the smell of grandma's cookies, fresh out of the oven.
As an aside, there already is an atheistic political party that boos God at their convention. Do we really need two?

One when you are speaking of God as a singular all powerful entitity it is capitalized. Two "God" is not God's name, it's a pseudonym to avoid saying his name much the same way Allah is a pseudonym for the very same God, you know how Allah translates from Arabic to English? "The God" Which God do Muslims think of him as? The God of Isaac and Abraham. Sound familiar? Who was the last profit of said "Allah" before Muhammad? Jesus son of Mary. So when you say "other gods" it's usually other "Gods" or "God by another name"
The theory of absolute rights endowed by a "creator" implies "God". Our whole philosophy is pretty unintelligible without that universal moral standard. Opposition to abortion and gay marriage is not strictly biblical. There are good metaphysical arguments outside theology that argue both. Only in true polytheism where no single higher entity acts as a moral keeper would folks find the use of "God" problematic to their theology. As far as atheists. If you believe in absolute rights that's good enough, and if you have two brain-cells to rub together you can see how you can metaphysically transliterate "God" to be "Ultimate Moral Authority" as it is relevant to the Republican platform.
We are open to polytheists, atheists, and gay men and women.

I've heard two illegal immigrants, admit on the radio when asked, that they did in fact illegally vote. There you have it. Illegal immigrants vote.

One of the reasons Sarah Palin was trashed by the consultant class in D.C. was that she refused to hire these graverobbing swine.
Chuck and Sally Heath raised a very smart girl.

*yawn* burst away. The idea that NO illegal immigrants ANYWHERE vote, seems awful silly to me.
>>We all know that you aren't open to all of these groups, propaganda as 157 said.
As far as my statement being propaganda. IW You demonstrate that you are completely illiterate not only Islamic theology, but also Christian theology. Trolling with other trolls doesn't make your POV any more accurate.
DE we have atheists and gay people as part of conservatism. Get over it. Whatever hang up you have, has I think less to do with theology, and some imagined exclusion, and more to do with you just disagree with our philosophy.

2) The media at every level is profoundly corrupt, not merely incompetent or nincompoops. The media at every level engages in soviet style reporting.
3) Any American with the patience to consume the national media at any level is a low information, clueless person.
4) The relentless daily "psa's" by the government on any topic are passively accepted by all stripes of Americans, who do not get that they are being propagandized and intimidated.
5) Non-leftists bizarrely engage in the totalitarian denunciation of common people, drunk drivers, smokers, sex offenders, folks who do not come up to the Stalinist standards of the SPCA, or who violate wacko environmental standards, child "abusers," bicycle riding cheaters, etc. Gun-owners.
6) Non-leftists indulge in the colored ribbon society. They courageously oppose breast cancer, domestic violence, hunger, fatal airplane accidents and insufficient government response to natural disasters.
7) Non-leftist Americans love the warm, self-affirming, egotist splash in the narcotic jello of American society.
Why should rabid Leftists, who are rabid narcissist fundamentalists, not be loving the almost total American cultural assent to their totalitarian joy?
On some day in the fairly recent past, Americans of all stripes decide to cast the first stone, to become a retributive society. Then we lost the premise of the political debate.

What is also a political reality is that if we become race obsessed, we are going to lose. Culture is important, race isn't.

Ba'al is another generic word in arabic it simply means "Master" and was used for a whole host of different religious entities in Arabia. Those entities having little or no theological commonality with "Allah" as defined by Mohammad.
You can say a lot of things. That Mohammad was a false prophet, that he just made up the Quran, that he either promoted violence against other faiths, or lacked the wisdom to prevent it. What cannot be said is that worship to Allah is pairity to worship of Ba'al as biblicaly understood. If you want that look to the hedonists of America.

Shows that race is important to Democrats. They are a party of division, envy, and hatred. Being racist works for them.

This kind of thing was obvious after the Mccain debacle, and yet nobody said or did ANYTHING. Too many kissy kissies with radio & TV hosts having same friends they do. Better to have a marxist destroy America than lose a friend. AMIRITE?
