One can understand a lone psychopath, or a duo. But an entire ideological system of psychopaths?

49 I think the British and Italian colonial authorities adjusted the border between Kenya and what is now Somalia several times in order to place as many ethnic Somalis as possible under Italian control.  Problem is, Somalis have always been drawn to Nairobi seeking work.  And cities like Lamu in northern Kenya have always been centers of Islamic radicalism.  So this is a long-standing issue, of which all Kenyans are aware.  Hopefully now there will be a Kenyan response and something good will come of this.

Their International Airport departure terminal burnt down a few months ago.  There were NO firetrucks available to put out the fire.  They were using buckets.  The fire trucks were all out of service / broke down.  Finally (I think) the Army showed up with fire trucks.

 

Kenya is a poor country and there is a tendency for the politicians to mismanage, loot and steal anything that is not nailed down.  Just like most of Africa.

The incident took place on Thursday as the ship was circling an oil platform in the Pechora Sea, an arm of the Barents Sea. The platform was owned by Gazprom, a Russian oil company.

Ferguson decried the incident, saying Russian authorities had no jurisdiction over a ship that was sailing in international waters and didnÂ’t need to resort to threatening tactics.

“This was a peaceful protest against reckless industrial activity in the Arctic,” Ferguson said in a telephone interview."
