— andy The Giffords-Kelly Lie Machine Strikes Again
Not content to let her husband have all the action, Gabrielle Giffords falsely implies that her assailant was not subjected to a background check.
Right now, we have one system where responsible gun owners take a background check — my husband, Mark, took one just last month, and it took 5 minutes and 36 seconds. I remember waiting a lot longer than that for the subway to take me to my office when I lived in New York City! And then we have a second system for those who don’t want to take a background check. Those people — criminals, or people suffering from mental illness, like the young man who shot me — can buy as many guns as they want on the Internet or at a gun show, no questions asked.
There are several lies here, in fact. Let's dispense with the main one: Jared Loughner passed a background check, so STFU.
Now for the rest of her bullshit. First off, I was at a gun store last weekend and watched a guy wait a hell of a lot longer than 5 minutes for his "instant" background check to come back. It got flagged for further review, and he said this happens to him every time he buys a gun. There must be something in the database that's not perfectly clean, unlike ... say ... the record of an astronaut and husband of a congressman, that keeps tripping it. He still didn't have his gun when I left the store, but the owner and other customers got a good chuckle when I joked that adding every private transaction nationwide would obviously make this process more efficient.
And, for the millionth time, gun purchases "on the Internet" or "at a gun show" are subject to all federal and state laws governing the buyer and seller. Why aren't they screaming about the "classified ad loophole"? It's the same thing.
So, once again, we have people agitating for new laws on a false premise and without examining why the existing ones don't work. See also, Democrats.
Gun Of The Week
What's this beauty?

Gun Of The Week - Answer
That's the Colt M1877 "Lightning" double-action revolver in .38 Long Colt, with its distinctive bird's-head grip. The store I was in last weekend had a nice one that I would have picked up in ordinary times. Now my budget is devoted to ammo over museum pieces.

They love hanging "common sense" on all the shit legislation. I mean, who could be against common sense? The problem is the term has no measurable value.
Using "common sense" is kind of genius. It lets the LIVs create their own internal propaganda.

Sadly not so much. I get stunned into stupid by a whole bunch of the things I hear, that it's hard to argue against it.

Judge Roll was no stranger to the risks of public service. He and his wife were provided protection by the Federal Marshals Service in 2009 in connection with a case in which a group of Mexicans sued an Arizona rancher for $32 millionny times

Yeah I guess it is time for me to fulfill my one useful function here....
Okay the Budget 1911......
http://tinyurl.com/dyzvekm
Sarco RIA frame and slide kit for ~225...
http://tinyurl.com/cgdmutt
SARCO RIA frame only ~110 dollars...
both of the above must be shipped to an FFL and as always check local and state laws...
it *is* almost better for one to buy and build to custom specs on the 1911 simply because that way you make contact with a gunsmith and can figure out what is vital to YOU....
I want some nice custom grips...
gonna get a scrimshaw 10th MTN patch and a Cav patch on the grips on my commander...
http://tinyurl.com/d4u4pgr
SARCO RIA .38 Super 1911
price ~ 406 bucks
and from the "hmmmm" file....
http://tinyurl.com/clrs5dd
Gunbroker has a new .38special 1911 that requires wadcutter ammo...
I may buy one of those since I plan to reload .38 at some point for wife's SASS habit....

Is that for any gun, rifle, shotgun or pistol...or just for hand guns? All my hand guns are off the record, so to speak, so I'm not sure how my state, SC does it, although my permit is good in Florida.

Same process for rifle and pistol, not sure about a shotgun. Know you didn't ask, but I thought about flying to a state (on business) with a reciprocal agreement a pick up a handgun a couple of years ago. Did some research and found it was not allowed.

You know, I wasn't going to say anything, but fuck it. All I have to say is fuck these parents. So your kid died, its tragic, it happened, and unarmed people get killed every day by fucking assholes. Whats more important is that probably no less than 750,000 servicemen died over the last 200+ years in the hell holes around the world, including some of my own family, to protect and defend the constitution. Your kid isn't worth more than those dudes, you don't get to render their sacrifice meaningless. You bought into the liberal bullshit of gun free school zones, and you lost, and now you're gonna reward them by using your fucking dead kids to allow these commie pricks to grandstand.

Odd that Gabby never mentioned that the first time her husband tried to buy that Sig Sauer 1911, he was turned down because he was too damn stupid to know that he couldn't buy a hand gun in Arizona and take immediate possession of it since he was not a resident. He tried to present his Texas driver's license as I.D. According to Diamondback Police Supply, Kelly returned two weeks later with an Arizona I.D.
How big a crook is Kelly? Well, let's just say that first he tries to buy a handgun in Arizona with a Texas driver's license (he could do that, but the gun would have had to be shipped to a FFL in Texas for him to take possession of it); he claims a resident homestead tax exemption on his home in Texas, and claims the same exemption on his new tony $1.4 million home in Tucson; he is a registered Texas voter (is he also registered to vote in Arizona?) and it would be interesting to know if he voted in both states last November.
Kelly's a slug that needs to crawl back into his rocket ship and fired off into space never to return.

my understanding from the media is that there aren't any Christians in the Middle East, right, so therefore they don't have to report on atrocities against them. And if there is violence going on, for example between the Buddhists and the Muslims then the Muslims are the victims, they are being randomly attacked by other religious groups for no good reason.
Can I get a job as a dead media journalist now?

First you designate them to be terrorists and extremists. See: Army, US
Then you publish news and broadcast stories that identify them as H8trz.
Then you strip them of their rights to defend themselves.
Then you make the argument that killing them is actually for the Greater Good.
Easy Peasy.
Oh. You said "Middle East". I was thinking more "Midwest."

Thanks, Truman. It's great to be home again! My car has to spend some time in the shop....a bearing is going out, brakes need some work, and it seems to be running a little hot, so I'll get to stay home for about two weeks. Do some laundry, drink some beer, spend time with my wife, drink some beer, play with the kids, drink some beer, hit the 'honey do' list, (which is getting really long), take my son and FUTURE DAUGHTER IN LAW out to dinner, then pack everything up, and head back to DC, and try to avoid getting a Ford F-550 duelie stuck in the mud....unlike last time.
