— Ace I'm playing hooky today because I'm drag-butt tired. The cobs may have some stuff for you. Otherwise I'll mostly just post some open blogs.
Eighty-one percent of San Diegans want Bob Filner to resign. There's chatter -- rumor only; maybe just speculation --that he's bargaining with Democrats to either stay on or negotiate some kind of graceful exit. I can't imagine what he'd think he'd get in return -- does he think some liberal think tank is going to hire him?
It's important for Democrats to get him out of office because at that point, the all-but-nonexistence media interest in the story goes away completely. Note that Mark Foley's resignation did not stop the media from continuing to question who might have aided and abetted him over the years -- but we'll see no such questions from the partisan Democratic newsletter we call the media. We haven't seen them as pressure builds on Filner, and we certainly won't see them after the pressure has been released.
Yup: I've been hearing this for a week but now it's being reported-- Filner is in mediation that may include his resignation.
BREAKING: Sources say Mayor Bob #Filner's attorneys are in mediation, possible resignation deal being brokered via @10News.

I guess in a perfect world they would both be driven out of business. But I hate cable companies with a deep and abiding passion, so I am rooting for CBS, even though that might, in the long run, be worse for my wallet.

After Fox Sports tried to negotiate with AT&T Uverse over the rights to *some* of the cardinals games, I got pissed at the providers too.
Yes, that's right, AT&T paid for the right to FSN, but FSN, wanted more money for 11 cards games they picked up from a local station right before the season.
So we had selective blackouts.
Frankly such a thing should not be possible, either you get a station or you don't. (Blackouts enforced by the MLB at least apply to everyone not selective providers.)
So fuck 'em all I say.

I just called to "renegotiate" my prices yesterday. Got a $3 price drop and a faster internet speed.
The wife and I considered dropping our cable at one point, but we do watch a shit ton of TV, including news stations (yes, CNN, we both hate MSDNC and she's not to fond of FoxNews, and frankly I get most of that from the HQ anyway) as well I watch a bunch of USA.
There are entire channels though we've forgot we have.

When we moved in, I hooked up the TV to the Coax while we waited for the UVerse installer.
Turns out there's absolutely nothing connected to said coax all I got was static.
I have a TV with a digital tuner, but I guess without any antenna at all, you can't get a digital channel, I even ran an extra long Coax trying to use it as an antenna, but apparently that trick doesn't work anymore.

Fort Hood Judge Bars Most Motive Evidence
CBS-DFW: http://tinyurl.com/l49q2qg
FORT HOOD (AP) - The judge overseeing the Fort Hood shooting trial blocked prosecutors on Monday from using several witnesses and most evidence they had sought to explain the alleged motive behind the 2009 attack.
Prosecutors had asked the military judge to approve evidence and several witnesses to explain the mindset of Maj. Nidal Hasan, who is accused of killing 13 people and wounding more than 30 others at the Texas military base in November 2009. But the judge, Col. Tara Osborn, blocked nearly all of it...

Heh, the New WW online is pretty much built for geeky males.
I spent the first month figuring out the system and how to maximize my food intake while minimizing my points. Like a constant DnD Min/Max. It was perfecting the system that drove me.
I even lost 25-30lbs.
Sadly most of it is back on, I stopped counting. (I'm still down about 10-15 from my high weight.)

Supposedly my satellite was only $50/month but I am billed $87 after they add in all the fed, State, and local taxes. That is for the "middle tier" package with high definition.
I could drop to the lowest tier which would cut it back about $25 but all those taxes would still be there. So what I tried to do was rig an internal antenna so I could drop ALL of it. Couldn't pick up a damn thing despite the fact that I can get about 10 stations upstairs with an internal antenna.
Asked wifey if she could go upstairs to watch Wheel of Fortune. Hahahahahaha; of course not. Her comfy chair is downstairs.

I need advice... say you have a SO that you complain to about mundane shit like someone playing emails at work with music in the background that is really annoying or you complain that they put out a shitload of leftover mozzarella sticks in the cafeteria and you just want to eat them. I truly mean stuff that you would just bitch about.... not really expecting a solution or anything....just some validation...and they always come back with "You should really learn to accept people's ways at work and ignore it," or "Well, if you'd work out this week, you wouldn't feel guilty about eating cheesesticks." It just really bothers me when this person does this sometimes, but not all the time. When they complain about their job or bullshit in life to me, I validate their feelings, join in on the bitching, laugh about it and move on. I know I can't fix their workplace or how their relatives treat them, but I can certainly commiserate and relate. I sometimes feel like I'm being treated like a child who has no adult capacity to handle these situations (as if they need handled in the first place). I know that I can't do jack shit about the email music and I need to ignore it or I can resist the mozzarella sticks and I'm only bitching about the temptation....etc etc etc
How should I handle this?

Prior to this negotiation, I paid $93.XX (where XX is some change, I forget what) including the taxes for my cable and internet, mid tier, no extra channels, HD.)
They're "projecting" my bill to be $103 now after the taxes, which would seem to imply a $13 increase in the taxes. We'll have to see, experience tells me AT&T often over projects taxes in the first "Sample" bill, I suspect I'll be paying less than $100.

Whatever's running in my basement looks old as shit.
Of course the Coax wiring for the cable in this house is a hot mess. They put a splitter outside my house, ran a cable up the outside wall (not even under the siding) and into a random bedroom upstairs (not even the master, just a random bedroom. Then they ran it into the house at ground level too, we think that's what's going into the basement, but we're not sure.
There's another splitter in the basement, one of those runs over to the front room (which we're using as a TV room.) the other part of it goes...well we haven't found it yet. (Seriously it disappears up a wall and we can't find where it comes out.)
Uverse runs on a Cat5 anyway, so we had them run that along the side of the house because our TV is on a different wall than the Coax jack in the front room. I kinda wish I hadn't done that, because the cable keeps falling and looks ugly.

I have found that what most women want is a nice tight hug or headlock with a big sloppy open mouth kiss and your hand down their shirt and/or pants to help them feel more secure in the communications part of the relationship.

I don't get it, why do I need a separate app to play Netflix on my xbox, there's already a Netflix app? And a Hulu app.
I get the odd feeling this is just sniffing for free content (which is not really the same thing as "TV" especially now that Hulu has locked up much of their already run catalog.)

Enough to say, your frustration is one of the ages. The Mars/Venus thing of the famous book. A lot of times people act in ways they aren't even aware of and sometimes they are aware and relish playing games. Good luck and hang in there.

? An HDMI cable is more or less flat.
VGA is technically capable of Hi-Def, but not digital (which does have some effect and likely partially due to what Vic was seeing.)
Also laptops have a) crappy video cards and b) crappy VGA output jacks (which I find cause a lot of blur from signal distortion, due to the "not digital" thing mentioned above.)

You greatly oversell the case.
Yes, flag officers are PC.
Field grades much less so.
Company grades are so un-PC there isn't even a scale with which they can be measured.
Field grades sit on Court Martials.

Try the guy at different times. I started going in the morning to get away from the 17-25 year olds who have no concept they're not the only people there. One guy I always used to see there would chant/rap along with him "music" loud enough to be heard clearly 20ft away. Other guys would do circuits on three or four different benches "reserving" each one. So you'd end up with a pissed-off gym rat telling you he was "using" a bench even if it'd be ten minutes until he got back to that one.
