Happy toisday [Purp]
— Open Blogger

For your low budget seqestering pleasure, the Kinks to start the day.

I once saw Stiv Bators live hang himself with the mic cord on the stage lighting framework. That was around 77' when this clip was filmed. He's been dead for over 20 years now. One of the lucky ones who cashed out while we were still riding high as a nation.

Don't forget to embrace the suck cheerfully. The weekend is only two days away!

9 Good morning young lady. Up at 4 on workdays. What are you doing up?

Posted by: teej at March 21, 2013 01:32 AM (cWpCn)

10 hi you. you making coffee? Im having one of those nights where I can't sleep more than 4 hrs.

Posted by: L, elle at March 21, 2013 01:33 AM (0PiQ4)

11 Been drinking instant for going on nine years. A couple of cups in the morning doesn't seem worth buying a coffee maker or the trouble. Enough cream and sugar and it's tasty enough. Sorry you're not sleeping well tonight/last night.

Posted by: teej at March 21, 2013 01:37 AM (ma+gB)

12 teej, my neice is keeping me from sleep. when I wasn't paying attention, she bleached her eyebrows and I think shaved her head. She has been studying art in Sweden last year. She goes on and on about how great Norway and Sweden are bc college is free!!

Posted by: L, elle at March 21, 2013 01:37 AM (0PiQ4)

13 Im so glad I got to talk to you this morning. I think you're my good luck charm, teej.

Posted by: L, elle at March 21, 2013 01:42 AM (0PiQ4)

14 Uh-oh. Well, she may grow out of all that. Prayers. I've got about 20 minutes before I need to get busy. Did you ever get into the Motown sound?

Posted by: teej at March 21, 2013 01:42 AM (ma+gB)

15 "good luck charm.." And you make me smile so we're even.

When planes flew past at low altitudes, the adult minks became so terrified that they turned on their young and bit them to death.

36 Of course, my impeccable manners, and the news of Harry Reems' passing, prevents me from commenting on the fact that, for a moment, this thread took on a Walter Matthau/Marly Tyler Moore vibe. So I won't mention it.

42 38 L, elle I have been around all sorts of teens, and frankly, if she is dead set on it, there is likely little to say to sway. Have you, instead, considered the "let me have her come to the conlusion herself" tactic?

Posted by: Mirage at March 21, 2013 02:33 AM (d0cBL)

43 L, elle Books like Girl with the Dragon Tattoo come to mind, and these places have their dark underbellies like the rest, nd are not so kind to those that do not pull their weight. Iirc that one of these countries sent young adults out of the country (as in over the border) to find jobs. If you aren't born there, I am sure it could be a serious bitch. When I lived in Germany, for example, you could not get a job unless you were fluent in the local language/dialect... I would doubt it woud be much different in Sweden, Norway or Denmark.

Posted by: Mirage at March 21, 2013 02:38 AM (d0cBL)

44 Vic, I have held the DOOM card so that I don't scare her away. But you're right. She's actually smart in the wrong way. She read Jean-Paul Satre in high school without reading Edmond Burke as a counter balance.

48 Jean-Paul Satre is typical of the pretentious French Marxist philosopher phonies.

The only people who worship him are French Marxists and NY commies in the inherited moneyed set.

66 It has almost been Spring here in the South. Something is pollenating and making me sneeze... According to the Gospel according to the Weather Channel: And so it came to pass that Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy struck the northeast USA, and the Gods at the Weather Channel declared it was bad, and Global Warming. And the people came to know that this knowledge must be from the Gods so it was so. It came to pass the ground remained wet and the flowers and trees bloomed and the pollen was abundant and the Gods at the Weather Channel declared it was bad, and Global Warming. And the people came to know that this knowledge must be from the Gods so it was so.

68 L.elle.  Another tack to take with an art degree to ask is this - has it improved what she likes doing or turned her into a harsh critic of art?

Posted by: Anna Puma (+SmuD) at March 21, 2013 03:03 AM (tkWnt)

69 L'elle. My son is in music school in Boston, and a seriously musically inclined whack job. Don't ask me why I agreed to send him, it's a long story, and was actually my idea, due to limited options.

Nevertheless, the only thing I got here is that you are best to give 'em facts, not opinions. They can confirm facts on the 'net. Then, at 3AM they might arrive at the same conclusion as the facts present, even if you don't get credit. I don't care about being right, I just want them to be incrementally better off than they would have been without some guidance.
