Here's How Stupid They Think You Are, On Amnesty
— Ace

Redlines.

The Democrats' Redlines are respected, and ours are ignored.

I'll say this about the Democratic representatives: They are actually representing their constituents' interests and beliefs, while ours are conspiring about how best to trick us.

3 Was in the car. Levin was speaking with Betsy McCaughey. He called her a national treasure and she surely is that and more. She knows the health care bill and the immigration bill inside out and backwards. Surprise, both bills fund democratic groups permanently, groups similar to acorn. Plus she explained the emergency: "THEY ARE COOKING THE BOOKS!" The emergency is that they passed a law saying they could not put any legislation in place that increased taxes or the deficit. The date that bill takes effect is fast approaching, that's the emergency. If you can listen to this segment on Levin, I highly suggest you do so, it's very very very very eye opening. Shame on any republican who signs onto this.

12 For twitter people -- you can run automated feeds that send out pre-canned tweets at regular intervals. You have to use other software to do it, but it's how people run fake grassroots campaigns. It's all automated.

And with time growing short before the July 4 recess – Senate majority leader Harry Reid’s self-imposed deadline to pass the bill – the Corker-Hoeven amendment was almost certainly the last, best shot for Republicans to make their move on immigration reform.

That was a wig spinner.  Cali voted to keep their health-care spending secret!  They've spent lots of the Obamacare cash, but not on anything health related.  The AFL-CIO and NAACP get a cut out of EVERY PREMIUM PAYMENT suckers, er, Obamacare clients make.  This is a permanent feature.  These groups are already "working" for their money -- going door-to-door, registering voters under the guise of 'splaining exchanges.

Amnesty for Illegals for their law-breaking.

What about the rest of us?

I'm sure that there are millions of American Citizens who would like to break a few laws and get amnesty for it.

Can I refuse to pay taxes and get Amnesty for it?

122

Big business wants cheap labor.

Most Americans would rather work in the service industry than bust their a$$es for slave wages.

Second generation poor  won't work for slave wages either- too "spoiled" / Americanized.  First generation illegals have an incredible work ethic and are happy as hell to be out of Mexico or Central America.

Thus, the GOP is going to give big business what it wants.  And they'll demonize and break up labor unions while they're at it.

So the American worker has two choices:  be a slave to big government or work for piss poor wages / benefits and be treated like dogshit by big business.

Great two party system we have.  Maybe that crazy bastard Pat Buchanan was on to something back in 88.

125 "And O'Reilly just endorsed the amnesty bill to open his show."

Rupert Murdoch is quietly pushing this via all means at his disposal. In addition to this stuff on Fox News, you will also see unsigned editorials in the Murdoch-owned WSJ talking about how awesome amnesty will be.

Murdoch, of course, is a guy who slips in and out of citizenship as it suits his own purposes. He once said it would be unthinkable to give up his Australian citizenship. Then he ran up against media ownership rules in America, and he was straight down to the consulate to slough off his Aussie roots.

I don't mind asking if there's someone there who speaks Spanish, that's fine.   It's the how dare you don't have anyone who speaks Spanish attitude that infuriates me.   It's even worse when I think about the clients we have who came here legally and who have worked their asses off to learn English.

208 136 First generation illegals have an incredible work ethic and are happy as hell to be out of Mexico or Central America. You do understand that they get every welfare benefit under the sun, right? Health care, housing assistance, food stamps, Spanish-immersion schools, it goes on and on. La Raza makes sure they don't miss a dime of the available goodies. Posted by: Peaches at June 20, 2013 08:36 PM (8lmkt) ----- I used to work with them - supposedly here on a farm work visa in the horse racing business, but I had a sneaking suspicion that half of them were just "here". This was in the early 80's and they would literally live on one weekly paycheck for 3 months, and hoard the rest and cash them all at once, sending the money down south. So I imagine nowadays, they don't even need to cash that one paycheck. The welfare gives them more than enough.

Back in the mid-00s when they last tried to ram amnesty down people's throats, I seem to remember Fox was overwhelmingly behind it.   Hannity tried to ignore the issue back then, preferring to focus on the latest outrageous thing that Rose O'Donnell had said on the view.  To his credit he did ultimately address the issue, and seemed to side with the pro-sovereignty wing of the party, but now he's "evolved" and is spewing the "what do you do with 12 million people" idiocy the rest of the pro-amnesty gang does.

And ss far as Ted Baxter is concerned, he can go fuck himself.  He seemingly doesn't give a shit that it is conservatives who are responsible for the success  of his program/endless advertisement for books about killing presidents and "looking out for whomever", that he curiously cranks out at lightning speed.

Precisely.  The "husband" (they don't legally marry, so he's not held accountable) works for cash and the "wife" collects all the bennies.  I see them in line at the grocery stores, she's up front with the food stamps and the diapers and the regular food.  He's behind her with cash for the beer and tequila.

They send piles of money to "their" country (which is absolutely not this country), so when they're done picking our bones, they've got a nice hacienda to go back to and live large.  I can't remember the amount of "remittances" leaving this country every year, I know it's in the billions.  Could we maybe tax some of that?  Ah, crap, now I'm being all racist-y again.

232 Thomas Sowell said it best:

"Most laws are meant to stop people from doing something, and to penalize those who disregard those laws. More generally, laws are meant to protect the society from the law breakers.

But our immigration laws are different. Here the whole focus is on the "plight" of those who have broken the laws, and on what can be done to lift the stigma and ease the pressures they feel, so that they can "come out of the shadows" and "normalize" their lives."

The entire premise of this bill is wrong - that we must do something (fast!) because non-citizens/foreigners are feeling a burden because our government has chosen not to enforce the existing laws.

248 Senator Brian Schatz’s (D-HI) filed an amendment for the immigration bill Wednesday that would allow stateless people in the U.S. to seek conditional lawful status if their nations have been made uninhabitable by climate change. The Senate’s immigration bill currently recognizes that people who come to the U.S. may have no country to return to for a variety of reasons and allows them to come forward to apply for legal status as a stateless person. But one cause for displacement that is overlooked in current law is how climate change has caused people to lose their homes and their nationality. Noting that climate change is not some “abstract challenge,” but is already displacing people across the world, Schatz explained: The amendment I am proposing is quite simple. If enacted, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, may designate individuals or a group of individuals displaced permanently by climate change as stateless persons. Again, let me be clear about what this amendment does. It simply recognizes that climate change, like war, is one of the most significant contributors to homelessness in the world. And like with states torn apart and made uninhabitable by war, we have an obligation not to deport people back to a country made uninhabitable by sea level rise and other extreme environmental changes that render these states desolate. It does not grant any individual or group of individuals outside the United States with any new status or avenue for seeking asylum in the United States. when will the stupidity stop?

255 Some actual history of Tejas (also a wall of text): Several of these states formed their own governments. All were brutally suppressed by Santa Anna. One succeeded in gaining independence - Tejas, which became in 1836 the Republic of Texas. Mexico demanded it back and warned the US if it annexed Texas, there would be war. When James Polk (1795-1849) became president in March of 1845, he promptly moved to accept Texas into the Union, which is it was that December. In 1846, the Mexican government was such a chaotic mess that it had four presidents, six war ministers, and 16 finance ministers - in that one year. Nonetheless, it got what it said it wanted when 2,000 Mexican soldiers attacked 63 US soldiers on a border patrol at the Neuces River, killing 11, and the Mexican-American War was on. By March of 1847, US forces had secured most of northern Mexico. Then General Winfield Scott landed 12,000 soldiers at Veracruz - among whom were Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, and Thomas Jackson, later to be nicknamed "Stonewall." After securing Veracruz, Scott marched to Mexico City to defeat the forces of Santa Anna - who had by now seized the Mexican presidency for the sixth time - at the Battle of Chapultepec on September 13, 1847. The war was over. General Winfield Scott was military governor of Mexico City, the Mexican government existed in name only, and many a US Congressman and Senator was demanding the US annex the entire country of Mexico. Polk turned this demand down. He declared instead that in exchange for the US to uphold Mexican independence and end the US military occupation, that Mexico was to relinquish any claim to the territory of Texas and the Louisiana Purchase, and that Mexico was to cede to the US its territory between the western border of the US (meaning Texas and the "Missouri Territory" of the Purchase) and the Pacific Ocean, an area of over 500,000 square miles.

What a bunch of dumbasses the GOP is.  Oblather on the scandal ropes and not only are they not pressing it, they are going to pass his "legacy" bill.

I really can't believe they think they will get any credit for it, so the bill must have some incredibly high graft and corruption in it to make it worth being a minority party for 30 years.

279 And the rest of the story (hat tip to Jack Wheeler) On February 2, 1848 at the basilica of Guadelupe in the village of Hidalgo on the outskirts of Mexico City, the Treaty of Guadelupe-Hidalgo codified Polk's deal. Mexico promptly resumed fluctuating between dictators and anarchic bloody chaos. In 1851, the nephew of Napoleon (the son of Napoleon's brother Louis), Louis Napoleon Bonaparte (1808-1873), seized power in France and declared himself Emperor Napoleon III. After a decade of imperialist adventures from Italy to Algeria to Indochina, he set his sights on Mexico. It was in its usual state of civil war - and by 1861, so was the United States. Colluding with a group of Mexican monarchists who wanted the anarchy to end, he ordered the French Army to invade Mexico. After suffering an initial defeat at a place called Puebla, his forces and the monarchists succeeded in taking over the government and placing a Hapsburg prince, Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria (1832-1867) as Emperor of Mexico. Why Maximilian of Austria? Because he was Napoleon III's secret first cousin. Napoleon's son, Francois Joseph Bonaparte (1811-1832, given the courtesy title of Napoleon II when a child by his father) was exiled with his mother Marie-Louise to Austria after Waterloo (for she was the daughter of the Emperor of Austria, Francis II). At age 20, Francois had an affair with Princess Sophie of Bavaria (1805-1872), whose husband Archduke Franz Karl was retarded, and she became pregnant. Two weeks after she gave birth to Maximilian, Francois/Napoleon II died, and Sophie accused Austria's Minister of State, Prince von Metternich (1773-1859) of poisoning him to squelch the scandal of Maximilian's real paternity. Years later, Sophie became deranged with bitterness over Maximilian's fate. Once America's Civil War ended, President Andrew Johnson wasted no time in telling the French he wanted them out of Mexico. He sent arms and money to the leader of the Mexican rebellion against Maximilian, Benito Juarez, and encouraged Americans to volunteer to fight for him. This enabled Juarez to defeat Maximilian's forces, and capture and execute Maximilian himself in June, 1867. Thus Mexico's independence, from 1867 onward, is thanks to America. Don't expect any gratitude. Oh, and that initial defeat of the French at Puebla that didn't even slow down the French in conquering Mexico? It was on May 5th, 1862. Yep, that's the vaunted "Cinco de Mayo." It's just an excuse for a party in Gringoland.

287 The GOP Senators are all hearing from businesses who are wanting this and no enforcement. Its amazing that normally pretty decent folks suddenly go off the rails when they realize they might have to pay a little bit more in wages or have to use e-Verify. So, these Senators and such keep hearing from "their base" of business donors about how we need amnesty. They are possibly aware of the normal "base" too, but maybe not in some cases. I think this is how Rubio et al think they are okay. "Well, all the guys who donate to me say we need this."

I'll say this about the Democratic representatives: They are actually representing their constituents' interests and beliefs

Let me repeat, morons:

Liberals don't put Democrats  in positions to take tough votes.  They  make sure those are safe votes first. They may not be the most popular votes, but they  don't  put many Democrats in a position to vote against the prevailing narrative.

They control the narrative first.

We do.  That's the difference.

I work with a bunch of them. Believe me when I say they are not happy about this at all. They are furious, but so what? Do we honestly expect them to stop voting for the dems? That is the difference between them and us. The left's coalition will stick together come election time while the GOP does not. The GOP did not seem to care that many of the base stayed home in 2008 and 2012. If they pass amnesty I hope the GOP dies a quick death. Screw them!

I used to think 3rd parties were jokes and for kooks. However, if the GOP leadership is either so sold out for cheap gardeners and maids, or so deluded to think they can actually win a Hispandering contest, then forget it. They had fair warning in 2005, and deep down they know why Bush The Younger’s poll numbers plummetted. Nope, it wasn’t the war. It was the “Comprehensive” Amnesty fraud. But the Bushyrovies, the Rubios, the Flakes, don't seem to care. Perhaps they know something we don't.

We can forgive pork-barrelling, we can forgive entitlements. But when they are deliberately importing the underclass that will be used to destroy The Republic, then forget it.

I just wish there was a 3rd Party that was coherent. I suppose one will have to be made.

I want to cry.
