38 May I summarize?

R asks question that nibbles around the edge, is neither direct nor accusatory in any fashion.

Holder makes vague assurances, displays minor contrition for infractions not addressed nor raised, suggests others are to blame.

D grandstands, launches filibuster narrative form question, ends with "have I mentioned you're a black in a racist country and how do you persevere in the face of such opposition from the Republicans?"

Holder thanks the D for such a tough question and launches into an attack on the evils of [Bush/Republicans/conservatives/racists].

Strategically speaking, you have to think that the AG would know that a massive wiretapping operation on the media would draw a firestorm of criticism. So, he may be using this interview (which you would imagine was a mere formality - FBI agents interviewing their direct superior) as a means to protect himself so that he can "take charge" and "bring the perpetrators to justice" while keeping the investigation in house under his direct supervision.

On May 21, 2010, President Obama nominated (PN49) Cole for the position of Deputy Attorney General to replace David Ogden who returned to private law practice. Senate Republicans blocked a confirmation vote on Cole throughout 2010. Cole had been waiting five months for a Senate vote on his nomination, the longest delay to fill that position in the 30 years. Cole received a recess appointment to the position from Obama on December 29, 2010.

On May 5, 2011, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid  filed for cloture of Cole's nomination on which a roll call vote was held on May 9, 2011. The motion, which required 60 votes to be agreed to, was rejected by a vote of 50-40 with 10 Senators not voting.

On June 23, 2011, Reid announced on the Senate floor that a full Senate vote on Cole's nomination would take place on June 28, 2011. Earlier in the week, Reid had reached a unanimous consent agreement with Republican leaders in the Senate to pave the way for a vote on the nominations of Cole and two other nominees to U.S. Department of Justice positions without the need for another cloture vote. The Senate then confirmed Cole in a 55–42 vote on June 28, 2011.

122 Also known as the movie Stander. Highly recommended. Except the police detective robbing the banks didn't recuse himself, but went with the police on the response calls after wearing shitty disguises. --- A cop in New Orleans tried that after robbing a restaurant and killing her partner, who was guarding it while off-duty. Didn't work out well for her because there were survivors who IDed her.

125 Strategically speaking, you have to think that the AG would know that a massive wiretapping operation on the media would draw a firestorm of criticism. So, he may be using this interview (which you would imagine was a mere formality - FBI agents interviewing their direct superior) as a means to protect himself so that he can "take charge" and "bring the perpetrators to justice" while keeping the investigation in house under his direct supervision.

Well, that's my paranoid opinion, anyway. Either that, or Holder is the leaker. Wouldn't surprise me, seeing how Marxists love to cause problems only to "fix" them.

Obviously, since Nixon was a Republican, he didn't have that option. Only Democrats, who are all valuable public servants and have the utmost respect for the law can do this. Because a Democrat would NEVER do something so heinous as to wiretap the entire fucking AP. Must be a low level employee, and so Holder should naturally head the investigation. No need for Congress to get involved.

Holder things he can save money by releasing criminals from prison a "little bit earlier", but only if it doesn't endanger the public.

What a fucking asshole. ANYTIME you release a convict, you're endangering the public. The whole point of putting someone in prison is to protect the public from an individual who has shown that they cannot or will not constrain their behavior within generally accepted boundaries.
