— Dave in Texas Home is the sailor, home from sea
Her far-borne canvas furled
The ship pours shining on the quay
The plunder of the world.
Home is the hunter from the hill
Fast in the boundless snare
All flesh lies taken at his will
And every fowl of air.
'Tis evening on the moorland free,
The starlit wave is still
Home is the sailor from the sea,
The hunter from the hill.
-- A.E. Housman
RIP Chris Kyle. Your bride spoke of you in words that were remarkable. May God bless her and your children in the hard time.
We have a land full of broken warriors that we need to help. Chris Kyle understood the need. I hope we rise up to his admonition and courage.

The CBS news channel that JohnE posted said after the service was over that he will be buried in Austin tomorrow....furthest funeral procession in TX history. And they expected most parts of the route, down 35E, will have people on the overpasses.

Now.... go read the Esquire piece in the sidebar....
The best and brightest... protect us all from the Barbarians who wish to destroy our way of life... and then our Government then throws them into the dustbin of history... there to be neglected, and forgoten... while idiots who play games, or mouth other peoples words in front of the cameras, get rich.
When those who Talk about somthing, are more succesful in a Society than those who DO somthing... that soceity is, IMO, doomed.... Darwin applies to societys, not just animals.

================
If you mean from the government, then no, they will not get the help they need.
Not from the government that broke them.
But, from you and I.
They don't vote for or support Democrats. So, they don't count. Murderers and rapists bombing whole villages when the President is a Republican; invisible when the President is a Democrat.

This is why they're winning. We're losing because society doesn't give a shit anymore. Free shit and video games and new American Idol's every year. That's IT.

Chris Kyles' life is over.
You've hit a big bump in the road....we all hit them. You'll get through it.

He's currently being held in a Tx jail with a pretty large bond and causing trouble.
He'll get a psych eval and probably get a mental hospital for a while.

22 I just got back from the memorial service. It was powerful.
Saw it on streaming video....yeah, it was powerful.
I'm sure even moreso, in person.
Was it a huge crowd?

I won't worry about that. You can not sue a dead man. He has no case against the estate. You have the right to defend yourself in court, dead folks can't do that.
Unless he already has a judgement, he is SOL.

They did that here for a young Marine killed in Afghanistan. People literally lined the road for miles and miles, all the way from the airport.
You're right. This is the country I want.

You may be right but Ventura's lawyer seems to think there is something more he can do. (see second to last paragraph in the link) But a man of honor (even if he was right) would STFU and leave the family alone to grieve. Pineapple Ventura some sideways assembly required

The lawyer is an idiot. Unless you have a judgement in place he has no fucking case.
The is not a Mormon court, where you baptist dead people, you can not convict a person of anything when they are dead
You can not get a summary judgement, you can get nothing. This might be a shake down. Listen we'll go away for something, or you spend something to get it dismissed.
I think two things would happen it that was tried. First, the court would award the widow attorney's fees, and second, the state where the lawyer was licensed would disbar him.

Depression as a disease is when there is depression without the external cause - or when there is depression far in excess of what is appropriate for the external circumstances.
