I'm not sure this is what they had in mind with the ADA and making things handicapped accessible.

13 Good games today. Will KC go 4-0 and force the Giants to 0-4? That would be a reversal of fortunes for the history books. Interesting note for college ball fans, this week there are 7 or 8 ACC quarterbacks starting. 8 if you count Russell Wilson who was drafted out of the Big Ten after playing at NC State. That's a quarter of the NFL.

59 In my nic is a link to the latest Mark Steyn column in which he eviscerates Obamacare. Also, the $2.80 for a bottle of water? If the water is from Nestle, Evian or most other brands, it is from lake Michigan. Our former governor, Jennifer Granholm, signed a law saying companies were allowed to pump out no more than a million gallons a day to bottle. The (unforeseen) result is lower water levels, millions paid out in redredging costs, and numerous boats hitting previously deep rocks while boating.

100 Chemical experts say no reason to doubt Damascus Published: 09.29.13, 18:27 / Israel News International experts charged with destroying Syria's chemical arsenal will meet regime officials in Damascus on Tuesday and have no reason to doubt the inventory supplied so far, they said. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is initially dispatching around 20 experts to Syria where they will begin the task of destroying the country's chemical weapons. "At this point, we have absolutely no reason to doubt the information provided by the Syrian regime," an OPCW official who cannot be named for security reasons told journalists at headquarters in The Hague on Sunday. (AFP) No no reason to doubt at all, and oh by the way I'd never cum on your mouth

109 Morning all....did anyone watch the History show of the Lambrecht auto auction in Pierce Nebraska yesterday? Ray Lambrecht opened a Chevy dealership in 1946 and it closed in 1996. He would take a car as trade-in on a Chevy but never sell the trade-in. They were all just parked in a field for 50 years. Some of them actually had trees growing right through them. He also kept all the 'new' Chevys he didn't sell. Almost 500 cars, some of them from the '60's with less than 4 miles on them. It was really interesting.

112 "I have no problem having tax-payer funded govt services ADA compliant, but the hiring shit, employee accommodation and even student accommodation for things like learning disabilities is awful." I'm currently going back to school as part of a career change, so I'm wondering if the ADA is why we get mentally challenged folks - who have no business in a college classroom whatsoever - who, even though they're really trying hard and sincere, end up disrupting class with long questions that painfully highlight the reason they have no business in a college classroom? Or is that some other bullshit feelgood law?

118 109 Morning all....did anyone watch the History show of the Lambrecht auto auction in Pierce Nebraska yesterday? There's been a few of these lately, including an AMC dealer in NC who closed suddenly in 1979 when Renault bought part of AMC and the good ole boy didn't want to sell no French cars... It's a form of hoarding. Sad to see all the cars which were left outside. Those few inside are choice, though.

You, too? I was knocked out, then semi conscious, no pain, but had enough feeling to know I was sporting a major boner, I guess from the gas. I heard the nurse go, "Whoh!", the Urologist said, "that's a big one" and I started coming to. So the anesthesia guy cranked it up to 10 on the dial. Recovery room sleeping for four hours, afterwards. It was worth it, though.

135 Tehran (AFP) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday brought home a 2,700-year-old Persian artifact the US administration gave him as “a special gift" to Iranians, media reports said. “The Americans contacted us on Thursday and said 'we have a gift for you',” Rouhani told reporters upon arrival at the airport in Tehran, the ILNA news agency reported. “They gave it back as a special gift to the Iranian nation.” Rouhani was speaking of a 7th century BC silver Persian drinking cup in the shape of a winged Griffin, a legendary creature with the head of an eagle and body of a lion. It is reported to be worth more than a million dollars. After being looted from a cave in Iran, the cup was seized by US custom officials in 2003 when an arts dealer attempted to smuggle it into the country, according to a State Department tweet. How about keeping it, selling it, and satisfying some of the law suits against Iran for the hostage deal?

Posted by: John Smith at September 29, 2013 11:44 AM (wR+pz) My husband and I couldn't figure out how the guy made any money when 1) He had the best prices anyone could find and 2) He never sold a traded in car. He even had people coming back 30 years later to re-buy either their old car or their father's old car and he wouldn't sell it back to them. Lambrecht and his wife ran the business and only had one other employee....a mechanic. They're both still alive (96 and 92) and live across the street from the closed dealership. He actually built the dealership building himself.

140 @133 There you go. It's a shame b/c it effs things up for you -- and the prof. Our local uni is open enrollment but they house both a community college and a university. So if you are not prepared, you are tracked to the CC until you can demonstrate that you are ready for the university upper division courses. It's called structured enrollment. Great idea. You also get your associates degree along the way. They offer equal number of associates and bachelors degrees. Sadly the secondary ed in Utah produces many unprepared students, esp in math.

141 @137 Tami, Before the internet and foreign competition Chevy dealers had a good mark up on their cars. Note he sold a lot of cars at a low price to people not from his home town. He had no warranty service work, etc. He was using his monopoly dealers right to order cars and he undercut the other dealers. He just took orders and a commission. Service? Not included.

They've got no business there in the first place, so they would be better served going to an institution which specializes in preparing them for a life they can actually handle. It burns my ass every time in class when one of them raises their hands, but not because my time, the prof's time, and the time of every other student who can actually handle the material is being wasted. It pisses me off to no end because it's wasting those kids' time.
