P.S.  Back in the day, Ayers cited with approval the need to kill about 25 million Americans in order to eliminate opposition to the socialist utopia but that is outdated now.  The population was much less then so I guess now we'll need to up that by a couple of dozen million.  He was just ballparking anyway.

The Green Team kids at school have made huge posters they have plastered up everywhere telling parents not to idle their cars while waiting to pick up the kids. So, now, it takes twice as long to pick up the kids because people turn their cars off. And then turn them on to go 2 feet. And then turn them off again. And then turn them on to go another 2 feet.

My folks have felt it's "impact" twice now. The first one was an uninsured motorist.

When an engine stops running... the oil stops circulating... causing more friction when you start... thus taking more energy... but also creating a lot of wear and tear on the engine (which will have to be replaced sooner, which takes a LOT of energy to manufacture)...

IIRC, the Mythbusters determined that idling for two minutes uses less fuel than starting the car. OTHO, think of how popular those parents will be with the local auto shop when they get to replace the starter every year.

I'd be more concerned about the load on the battery which means the alternator will have to run longer after start up thus increasing fuel usage. That's not trivial in some of these newer cars with undersize batteries.

And the oil thing already mentioned.

Tell them you've got electrical problems and if you turn off the engine it might or might not restart and will they give you a jump if it doesn't start. They'll usually back off about then.

314 our school fired a teacher b/c he married a Jewish girl (they had a "dual" ceremony - NOT GOOD ENOUGH) some schools are VERY strict with this stuff fyi that was again, purely a school decision not driven by the Arch *and* we have no oblates at all in the school (just lay people in admin and teaching) what I was saying was of course a lady gym teacher is probably sort of a lesbian. and yes I played FH. and I went to an all-girls school! I bet she was a great gym teacher and am sad this happened. it's awful.

Back in '08 there was still an old announcement on the Univ of Chicago web site, where Michelle Obama was hosting a sort of "meet the author" event for one of Bill Ayers' books. Her husband was a States Senator then, and appeared on the panel. So the Obamas were literally helping Ayers sell a book of his. How "neighborly" of them.

 

 

Let's not forget about Obama being picked by Ayers and two other to distribute millions of Annenberg Foundation money to leftist causes, working on the same floor of the same building with him.

The "Wow" is that they've actually come out and admitted the lie, although it appears to have been careless and inadvertant. It may not be news to you and me, but the media have stood by the lie all along, and probably a lot of "low information voters" bought it.

 

This tells those "low information" people that, yes, they really shouldn't trust the media to tell them the whole truth, and does so in a simple and undeniable way. It also tells them that a lot of what they were told to dismiss as "conspiracy theories", regarding the President, were probably true.
