— Ace At Ricochet.
Beginning at around 27:45 and going forward to about 35:00, there are three interesting points:
1. Obama talks as if he's not president. For example, in his Major Foreign Policy Distraction, he complained that force-feeding hunger-striking jihadis at Guantanamo didn't represent us at our best. He seems to have forgotten that with a single phone call he could order the force-feeding to stop.
2. The liberals have internalized this bizarre narrative, and always omit Obama from negative stories, as if it is literally, physically impossible that Obama might be part of the problem.
3. This hasn't been talked about much -- and I keep wanting to talk about it. A few weeks ago, Obama told the Washington Post that he often daydreams that he'd like to go "Full Bullworth" on the country. Now, Bullworth was a movie about a suicidal politician who decided to just Tell The People The Truth before he died. His truth, you won't be surprised to learn, was all left-wing cant that of course are obviously true but no one ever says. (Except the left, constantly.)
Consider all that is admitted there:
1. Obama is confessing he's not telling the people "The Truth" at the moment.
2. Obama is virtually confessing that his idea of the truth -- long hidden from the people -- is a series of left-wing "Truth Bombs" that he'd like to drop on us but of course he can't.
Um, why not? Oh right, because it would hurt him politically and that's the only thing that matters.

I've never seen "Bulworth," but question: was he LITERALLY suicidal, or merely politically suicidal?
Because if it was the former, that would be another point to add to your list.

I met a man who wasnÂ’t there
He wasnÂ’t there again today
I wish, I wish heÂ’d go away...
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldnÂ’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, donÂ’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please donÂ’t slam the door... (slam!)
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasnÂ’t there
He wasnÂ’t there again today
Oh, how I wish heÂ’d go away

I pumped slugs in the nastiest bunch of bastards you ever saw and here I am calmer than IÂ’ve ever been, and happy too. They were Communists, Lee. No they fail to admit there are requirements for the job which even exceed Obama's capacity or temerity to defy. It would be outrageously irresponsible, not to mention dangerous to our country.
People already suspect that Obama has anti-democratic leanings and impulses. In fact, he's already shown an extraordinarily, some might say, historic proclivity towards imperialistic action. Gosh, look at the landscape littered with Executive Orders, anti-constitutional appointments and his crowning achievement- "Obamacare". It is a panoply of despotic actions.
Obama only has limits because there is not enough time to invoke the massive revocation of liberty and implementation of socialism he wishes to undertake. That would stop it faster then it will otherwise be since it exposes more readily its flaws, tyrannical premise and destructive ends.

To hear it, only his innermost circle likes him; nobody else can stand to be around him any longer than they have to.
It's not like he's going to run for Senate again, and to think that he would be nominated to sit on SCOTUS is laughable - the man didn't write anything while he was president of Harvard Law Review, and NOBODY (of any merit) would hire him out of college.
All he's got to look forward to are dinners where he is a featured speaker - and he doesn't even stick around to eat dinner at those functions.

Obama has Daddy issues. He seeks adoration over substance. He loves the

cares more about his approval than his policies.
I agree that he has some Daddy issues but I would characterize them more as abandonment issues with the specific daddy issue triggered when his mommy booted his ass back to Hawaii and kept his little sister.

"RESOLVED: Any Member of any 'News' Organization that met with AG Holder today is no longer to be trusted as a valid news source," the hacker wrote. "UNTRUSTWORTHY: New Yorker, Washington Post, Politico, New York Daily News, Wall Street Journal—attended Thursday's meeting with Holder."

Let us also not forget that he's fucking dishonest. He ran to the right of Mccain(!) on many issues in 2008, issues that he lied his ass off about.
That fucking guy is incometent and disinterested, but he's surrounded himself with some scary ass people and President Check the Box has no problem letting his people go full thug. because viva la revolution.

About this, however...
"1. Obama is confessing he's not telling the people "The Truth" at the moment."

I don't think he has ever told people 'The Truth'.
The only bits of the truth that have come from him, were by accident.
Like when he was taped saying people in rural PA, were "bitter and clinging to their bible and their guns".

This is hardly a new phenomenon. He's still blaming Bush for anything under the sun. He realizes that's getting old so He's now moved on to rogue low level employees. Except when things go right.
Case in point. Bin Laden. TFG was up all night drinking coffee with rolled up sleeves, directing, ordering, monitoring and getting things done.
Benghazi. Uh, tragic, the STATE DEPT. and MILITARY did all they could do, tragic etc.
IRS Scandal. He's Charlie Effing Gibson, just heard about it, low level employees etc.
There's really only been two things in his entire time in office he can crow about. Bin Laden and OCare. The rest is all crap. there's been nothing. Bin Laden was good, OCare is HIS baby. And it's falling apart rapidly, the Dems know this is a train wreck and are already trying to blame obstructionist Republicans. Owebama's picked up on it to. Sure the press is butthurt right now but they'll be back to slurp more up. If the current Pres was a Rep it would be a tsunami of wall to wall bad press and protests and howls from the left. So again this isn't new. it's just that half the population ignores it willingly.

Broader pathology...
WE talk of the US Government as though it is an entity.
Government Interests... Government RIGHTS (when only a person can have rights, a government has powers, and limitations, that WE give it, not the creator).
But when we personify it... we act as if we do not control it... its some big Force we can't fight...
Obama has just taken it to the logical conclusion, where the Head of Government, says he does not CONTROL Government.... and people believe him.

I'm pretty confident that it won't go that far. At the very least, the Clinton wing of the Democratic party would go ballistic. We'd probably see some serious internal fighting in the party. And it would only take the Clintons providing patronage for a handful of state election commissioners to essentially deep-six the whole thing.

The warning shot thing is tricky because it can be argued that if you had the time to warn, then you were not under imminent threat. I find such an argument worrisome but that's the argument.
Plus, the guy was already moving AWAY from the homeowner. Pretty hard to justify a threat in that situation.

That's a pretty radical oversimplification of the Obama/Chicago model.
The Obama/Chicago model isn't "take all the money away from rich people".
It's "take all the money away from the enemy's rich people, leaving alone the rich people who are friendly to you and/or have paid the protection racket dues."
I laugh cynically every time Obama launches into a rant about how the "1%" should "pay their fair share in taxes".
Then he gets on Air Force One and comes out here to Commiefornia and goes to dinner at the homes of Google's top executives. Those people are 1%ers, to be sure, and they engage in routine and massive scheming and maneuvering to slash both Google's corporate tax burden and their own individual tax burdens.
Obama says nothing about any of this. He's just there to collect the fat checks.

The couple, who had no children, had both lost their jobs and and faced the prospect of having their home being repossessed when their savings ran out.
Cole had tried to convince his wife to make a suicide pact but she refused.
He killed her with a hammer and knife and remained with her body at their home in Torquay for two days before calling the police on March 13 to confess.
Cole then tried to take his own life but survived. ..

They don't actually love science as science - they're loving science as a religion, and they show their religious bona fides by sharing inane posts in the name of Science.

We are all prophets here, or at least the pessimists are. Take a look at any Obama-related topic threads going back five years on AoS. We called it all.

Hey, I actually have something to ask about, which should guarantee a new thread as soon as I type it out...
Saw an ad here on the main page for ATT home wireless phone system.
It uses the wireless network but connects to your home phones.
Wouldn't work if the network goes down, but is sooo much cheaper than paying for a normal land line...$10 or $20 a month, depending on how you set it up.
Thoughts?

If he heard intruder noises outside in the dark of night, he would let out their 150lb Rottwolf cross to investigate the situation.
I was on genial terms with that animal. Were I a stranger and thus not well regarded by it? And if it objected firmly to my being on its territory in the dark?
Whoa. I would MUCH MUCH rather have a warning shot fired near me.
I don't have time to keep a dog in the manner that civilized people keep dogs (with lots of walks, play and exercise), so I can't copy this system. More's the pity.

I would like to suggest that there is something we can do about it.
If I understand correctly - under federal law people operating under color of authority to deprive citizens of their constitutional rights may be personally sued for doing so.
I would like to suggest that "a swarm of hornets" set of lawsuits be used against such people. In other words if each of us filed proper federal personal lawsuits individually against people like the US Attorney for Tennessee and his conspiratorial FBI agent for attempting to violate our free speech rights in the sum of say $10,000 in damages. I think it would be a very effective action to use against them.
I am not talking about frivolous law suits which could be dismissed but rather properly filed and worded serious suits citing the proper sections of the federal code of regulations as their authorizing basis.
Consider what this does to the defendants facing hundreds or thousands of lawsuits. Their legal expenses alone would be astronomical. Failure to answer the suits would result in summary judgments against them.
For the lawyers here: What sort of attorney would I consult to file such a suit?
Enough of these kind of lawsuits would take Obama's thug enforcers away from him - leaving him powerless to be anything but just another asshole politician and no longer self appointed King of the USSA.

Already have ATT for local and cells, soooo...
Get good cell reception in the house, which might be an issue for some people.
I have a lot of older neighbors, so I figure someone nearby has a land line if something happens that takes down the cell network.
Wonder what the sound quality is? We have a land line for a couple reasons, one of which is that I hate having conversations on my cell phone...

It uses the wireless network but connects to your home phones.
Those systems work well enough, from what I've heard, although if you're dissatisfied with the voice quality on ATT they won't help with that. If you want to get that feature and keep your landline, Panasonic makes a cordless phone + answering machine system where the phones on it will ring for either your landline or your cell, which could be handy.

Yes, Ian, I'm about to buy that and use our current answering machine/handsets for target practice.
It works for incoming calls to your cell phone.
I guess I'll see how that is.
It's not the quality exactly...it's the half duplex can't talk while other person is talking crap.
