— Ace From Breitbart's Joel Pollack.
Obama and his supporters refuse to be judged on normal criteria, such as the president's actual record in office. Though he is quick to claim credit on the rare occasion--such as the bin Laden raid--when things go right, President Obama typically adopts a prophetic distance from the office he holds that insulates him from criticism and allows him to attack the very Washington he leads, the very political games he plays. The heresy of Fox News is not just that it criticizes the Obama administration or that it provides a platform for conservative opinion, but that it rejects the attempt to place Obama beyond politics and accountability. It refuses, in other words, to endorse the idea that Obama inhabits a unique category, beyond the obvious (and, for most governing purposes, meaningless) historic fact that he is the nation's first black president.

Okay, I "refuse" to acknowledge the laws of gravity and physical attraction. Everyone please watch for news reports of me flying Superman style through US airspace with my new girlfriend Megyn Kelly wrapped around me.

The economy's still in the shitter, millions are out of work, inflation keeps marching on, kollidge students can't find jobs and are saddled with debt they can't repay, scandals are popping up like Whack-A-Moles, more deaths in the Middle East on TFG's watch than on W's, undeclared war in Syria where we appear to be backing AQ, Fast and Furious, Benghazi deaths, IRS intimidation throwing an election, companies leaving the US for friendlier tax climes, China hacking our sensitive secrets...
...and that's just off the top of my head.
Results? Who needs 'em? TFG means well. And he cares oh so much.

From the article:
"Obama not only shares his party's belief in its moral superiority but also embodies it in his own person. His preference for the word "I" is but one symptom. In a recent, typical example, he told the media: "I've still got 60,000-plus troops in Afghanistan," as if those soldiers serve him personally and at his pleasure. The corollary: his critics must be motivated by personal hatred or bigotry, not any independent principles."
That's the Obama shtick.

We're not governing by "catastrophe" like Obama says, we're governing by "sad story."
I feel bad for these people, but lots of other people are in similar situations and still make it through. Passing laws as a reaction to people telling a sad story is no way to govern.

Yes they do. What they always do. Remember Teddy Kennedy and Robert Byrd are both vaunted liberal heroes. They've been doing "it" for years.
You know, if one were contemplating going into politics strictly as a career choice, and with no innate philosophical principles whatever (i.e., a typical politician), becoming a Democrat is the only rational choice. It'll be easier to raise money (from all those wealthy donors in the shadows), the media will provide overwatch for you, and the shadowy powers that be will provide downfield blocking for you.
If you become a Republican, you'll get crapped on at every turn, misquoted, smeared (many times over things you never said, but that someone else attributed to you; e.g., Palin's Russia comment), everything you ever do will be spun to your detriment, any mistakes you make will be rehashed endlessly (Seamus the dog on the car's roof? From thirty fucking years ago? Seriously?)

Obama's doing what he does because it works, and continues to work, so why should he stop now? Who will make him stop?
Just like the news dump down below. Republicans in California think they have a chance, A CHANCE, to pick up a seat in the agricultural valley where the environmentalists shut off the water. The only problem is, they are having difficulty getting to 50%. In other words, over half the voters want what Obama is selling.

There's a lot of smart analysis packed into that short article.
Obama's original model was to create a cult following that, along with a reliably liberal majority in Congress, would do all the the heavy lifting of "fundamentally transforming the US" for him while he enjoyed his perch at the top of pop culture and politics. His constant agitating and us/them rhetoric is designed to activate the cult and get them pounding on the media and their representatives to do whatever he wants.
The model has failed; the cult was strong enough to get him elected but is distinctly uninterested in policy, and his one big policy achievement lost him control of Congress in 2010. He keeps trying to breathe life into the model through manufactured wedges like guns and immigration. But it is really the model that has failed. America is not - yet - a Third World country where masses of voters can be continually "organized" and whipped into a frenzy by a charismatic leader, and force legislatures to bend to his will.

Here's the thing about aristocracy: They only open the books once. And your name "Mr. Democrat Party County Chairman" is never going to be on the list. To defeat him, one need only do what effective bloggers have done for years when faced with trolls: ignore them. Refuse him his martyrdom, and he will do what the Chicago Police Department has done for decades when dealing with a wanted, yet altogether untalented, undereducated and egocentric wanted fugitive: they'll eventually stick up the liquor store located less than a block from the local police district.
Let Obama hang himself, and he'll find himself right back where he belongs.

Looking into Mo's past can get you killed. Looking into Jesus's past (especially if you say something novel like he was a homosexual or liked sheep) will get you tenure.
There is a big difference in the scholarship.
That being said, I understand your point, and will concede it.

Want to guess what's likely to happen here?
You're going to build a trebuchet and see if you can throw it to the disposal facility?

Unlike accounts of Obama's miracles in the NYT.

Maybe the base station (assuming multiline phone system) needs back-up.
Regardless, it's a reason to leave work and go home and open a bottle of good scotch, or in your case, a bottle of grape Nehi and a bottle of cinnamon-flavored bourbon.

This calls into question the claims of prophets of all religions, something that I find to be a waste of time. Whether Mo was a true prophet or simply a clever man who used religion as a tool is unimportant, especially since that description can be used for every prophet in history.
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at May 28, 2013 01:07 PM (O6Tmi)
Notice that there's been a steep dropoff in the incidence of prophets. It's amazing how few people claim God is talking to them now.
In unrelated news, we now have lots of anti-psychotic drugs.
Just sayin'.

Of course, first of all, Obama's biracial, not black, and his non-white side is (by some accounts) mostly Arab, not black. Hence the middle name "Hussein".
I saw somebody report on the attitude of the media on O'Reilly. He said that they look upon him as if he were Nelson Mandela or Desmond Tutu. Sounds about right. The bottom line is that they worship at the alter of Diversity, it being one of their gods. Not the kind of diversity you get when you simply cease to be discriminatory, but rather the kind you get from quotas, which are their own brand of racist. Obama's their chocolate Messiah. You might just as well ask a Christian to criticize Christ, as ask these guys to say a word against Obama.

It is just a coincidence that these incidents all seem to favor his world view.
Sarc off.
On MSNBC this weekend I saw the anchor and a guest(don't ask me who) bemoaning the treatment of veterans in the VA. Their take on the efforts of Hagel to fix the problem were insightful.
They said, with no self awareness at all, that it would take the president to make it happen. "Nothing will change without his input. Once he makes it known to his people that he wants something done-it will get done. He does not need to go there and tell people directly. They will feel the pressure from the WhiteHouse to get this done."
Exactly what happened with the IRS......

He isn't black. He's the country's first mulatto president.
And as far as not holding him accountable. . .bear with me for a moment.
I’ve got a recording of Sinatra, Martin and Davis at the Sands. While Sam is trying to do impersonations of people singing All The Way, Dean and (especially) Frank keep needling him, including Frank’s infamous “Smile, Sam, so everybody knows where you are.”
At one point, Sam says, “You wait until we get in there. You’re gonna get yours!” and he follows it up later with “Keep it up, boys, ‘cause you ain’t got too many rights left!”
He was jokingly serious, but the election of Obama, IMO, has nothing to do with “history.” It has to do with white guilt, but especially with payback. You’ve been on top too long, honky, and now you’re gonna get yours. How you like being the black man’s bitch?”
I think that ties into the MFM lame critiques of Obama. The white reporters feel guilty and the black ones want a brother to keep the white man down. Just an off the cuff observation. YMMV.

Pollack seems to forget that for most Americans the economy is the most important thing. On that Obama is looking a lot better that the clown who left, and who is blamed more than Obama.
Three things:
1. What's the current rate of unemployment (the real number, not Little Black Jesus' number)?
2. What was the worst unemployment level under W?
3. FOAD.

"There aren't any accounts of miracles that are contemporaneous with Jesus' life, even in the NT."
No, there aren't, but the issue isn't that simplistic. This doesn't seem like the place for this kind of discussion, but there are a number of good books that make a very compelling case for the truth of the Gospel accounts. " A Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel is a good place to start.
