— Ace The convoy was carrying Russian missiles.
Beyond that, there's some confusion.
Western officials say that Israel did indeed strike the trucks carrying SA-17 missiles. The Syrians are denying it... well, they're denying Israel hit trucks containing SA-17s. They claim instead Israel hit some sort of Peaceful Scientific Installation for the Benefit of Adorable Beagles.
Honestly I have no idea what they're saying.
Syria denied news reports that a convoy was hit in Syrian territory."Israeli warplanes violated our airspace at dawn today and directly struck one of the scientific research centers responsible for elevating resistance and self-defense capabilities in the area of Jamraya in the Damascus countryside," Syria's military said in a statement carried by the official Sana news agency. It said the attack killed two workers and injured five others, and "caused significant material damage and the destruction of the complex."
Hezbollah also denied that Israel had attacked a convoy of Hezbollah weapons in Syria. "We have no information about this issue. We are not concerned at all," said Hezbollah spokesman Ibrahim Mousawi.

The target was a truck loaded with weapons, heading from Syria to Lebanon," said one Western diplomat, adding that the consignment seemed unlikely to have included chemical weapons. Related:
A source among rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar Assad said an air strike around dawn (0430 GMT) blasted a convoy on a mountain track about 5 kilometers (3 miles) south of where the main Damascus-Beirut highway crosses the border. Its load probably included high-tech anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles.

Well, yes. It is easier for aircraft to bomb SA missiles while they're still in the crates, so this makes sense.

There are two dangerous possibilities regarding Syria,” Shapiro said. “Either the regime will use chemical weapons against the Syrian people, or will transfer the chemical weapons to Hezbollah or other extreme organizations. We want to prevent either of those possibilities from taking place, and we are watching the situation closely.”Home Front Defense Minister Avi Dichter, who characterized Syria as a chemical weapons superpower, said Israel was monitoring the situation to understand with as much specificity as possible what was happening to the country’s chemical weapons arsenal.

It's a cultural thing. People telling lies tell them anyway knowing that everyone knows they're lies, people hearing the lies, lie by pretending to believe the lie, even though everyone knows they know the original lie was a lie. Smoke Mirrors, assembly not required.
It's patently obvious. Every accident in Iran gets blamed on the Mossad, every obvious Mossad hit was an accident.

Amidror was making his way to the country as Russia held its largest ever naval maneuvers in the eastern Mediterranean, off the coasts of Syria, in what is seen as a clear message to Western powers that it would not tolerate a forceful intervention by NATO in the country.
WATCH OUT FOR bULLSHIT FLYING EVERYWHERE;
In an interview with The New Republic published on Monday, US President Barack Obama spoke about his struggle over how to respond to the ongoing violence in Syria.
“I am more mindful probably than most of not only our incredible strengths and capabilities, but also our limitations,” Obama noted. “In a situation like Syria, I have to ask, can we make a difference in that situation?” He went on to pose a question about whether such intervention would have an impact in that country, but also on the US ability to support troops in Afghanistan and whether American action would trigger even worse violence or the use of chemical weapons.
Obama also asked, “How do I weigh tens of thousands who’ve been killed in Syria versus the tens of thousands who are currently being killed in the Congo?” Obama continued by pointing out these were not simple questions with easy answers.
“You make the decisions you think balance all these equities, and you hope that, at the end of your presidency, you can look back and say, I made more right calls than not and that I saved lives where I could.”
