— DrewM Great stuff, probably his best sting yet.
O'Keefe and his team posed as anti-gun violence activists offering signs to anti-gun journalists saying "This House Is Gun Free". Surprisingly Toure (of minor MSNBC "fame") and staff members of the paper who exposed permit holders took a pass on announcing they had no guns in the home. The really fun part was an armed security guard at one of the paper's employees home declining the sign.
I don't want to embed the video here and steal their traffic but it's well worth the time.
We've passed the exit from the highway about whether or not this is still a fiscally conservative country (we're not) but we're at a crossroad about whether or not to still be a republic or not. We either make the elites live by the rules they impose on the rest of us or we give up the game entirely.
Related: New York state sucks. Without any public debate, the State Senate passed a sweeping gun control measure in the middle of the night. I guess they wanted to do it a month to the day of the Sandy Hook massacre.
Welcome to what it's like to live in a banana republic.
UPDATE: Toure takes to Twitter to attack O'Keefe, O'Keefe responds.

I challenge someone to ask Cuomo why it was so important to pass this foolish legislation on the month anniversary of Sandy Hook, while the daily minority-heavy death toll of gun violence in major cities -- say, Chicago -- gets no such memorialization. Why does NY care so much about dead white children but not dead black children? And either way, why would NY state pass legislation that will further endanger people and lead to MORE gun violence -- like, say, CHICAGO did?

The only reason to not violate the law is from a reasonable fear of getting caught if you donÂ’t have enough juice to get out of it. This also has interesting implications for the jury system.
LetÂ’s see how well this new way of organizing society works out."

I watched The Patriot last night again, and while it has some highly fictionalized aspects to it, I think it does a great job showing the true application of the weapons folks had around the house.
I have not considered the current president tyranical up to this point, but if His Majesty moves with the authoritarian power that's being discussed today I may have to change my assessment.

I think it comes down to the simple matter of "rule of law."
Do we govern ourselves by clearly defined laws, and are they applied as equally to everyone as possible?
If not, chaos reigns. The right is still operating within a "rule of law" framework. The left is not. We'll either be subjugated, or there will be blood. Lots of it. It's not a question of if, it's only a question of when.

Depends on the company and their own gun policy.
I've found the more local/home-grown they are, the more likely they are not to bother the police with such things until the cleanup is required. The other option is to call the cops on the guy- and cops in Texas don't like those kinds of threats.

And how if we'd followed the path of the far right Republicans and refused any compromise, well, not only would the centrist Republicans lose their seat to a Democrat but, the Democrats would pass the bill anyway?
So, we might as well compromise our principles a little bit here and there, or whenever the Dems need more votes, 'cause we're sure to win the next fight if we do.

Two robbery suspects have been shot dead in two separate incidents in South Florida.
Late Monday night, a robbery at a Hollywood Exxon station led to the shooting of one of two suspects by a store clerk, according to police. A second suspect was caught a short time later.
Hollywood investigators remain on the scene of the attempted robbery and shooting on State Road 7 near the Hard Rock casino on Southwest 52nd Street.
In Northeast Miami-Dade, police are on the scene of an attempted robbery Tuesday morning in which a suspect was reportedly shot by a resident. The area of the shooting is Northeast 209th Terrace and Eighth Avenue.

No, Drew, you're offering a false dilemma, committing the either/or fallacy. When it comes to saving the Republic, there are options other than 'make the elites live by the rules they impose'. One way to make ruling elites stop doing what they're doing is to make them former ruling elites, one way or the other.
A Party of Lincoln, straight-ticket Republican voting, right-of-center conservative, I find considering options and making mental and real-world preparations I would never have considered even a few short years ago. Most of this has been gradual and incremental and nearly subconscious, a way of coping with the vague uneasiness I've been feeling, a sense of uncertainty and looming disaster. And anger. Lots of anger.

I've seen that for years. It's true, of course. They went to war over much less oppression and provocation than we have now.
===============
They did, but it took almost 15 years of talking, agitating and anger-building before shots were fired. They suffered under the laws they found so oppressive for a long time.
There was a lot of "Let's try another petition" and "the British Army is the best in the world, how could we fight them?" that, like today, caused sane men to pause, delay and reflect.
There is a critical mass coming.
I see more over-aggressive enforcement action to "make an example" (the type of which they are already engaged in, reading about that guy who committed suicide) as this "middle-class revolt" is already in full swing and they know it.
Tax season is coming. And there are going to be a lot of middle class people who have been given more than enough reason to cheat on their taxes . . . and there are hundreds and thousands like that EPA administrator burrowed into our government.

They would be very welcome in the Central FL area. We could use the industry, and their presence would be a big turn-off to Leftards looking to relocate.

That's an excellent question. Another good question is, if the "authorities" start going after individual citizens, probably not using the military, but ATF types first, how many local law enforcement agencies will side with the citizens over the federals?

I'm sure it duct tape is hot and painful to remove. I'll tell you what I told my children when they would say, 'Dad, it hurts when I do 'x," where 'x' is something painful or awkward or unnecessary or all three all at once.
Please don't do that. Have you considered attaching those additional trauma plates to the vest rather than to your body, or maybe upgrading to a ballistics vest that has all the protection and features you want? Jury-rigging a body armor setup sounds like an all-around bad idea. Save your money and get better level protection.

I bet there is a nylon or similar material shell that goes over the actual vest. If there is, figure out how to remove that shell.
Turn the shell inside out and open it so you can see the back portion. Then fold the front of the shell over so it aligns. Mark where the front trauma plate is on the back portion of the shell.
Measure out enough material to cover the trauma plate with perhaps 1/4in extra on three sides. Cut out the material.
Double sew that material on the three sides that are long. Keep open side pointing to collar. This forms a pouch.
Once you put the vest back together. Slide the back trauma plate into that pouch. And voila. No more duct tape.
If this doesn't work, be creative.

But on today's radio show, Dicker described the package as being "all in secret, typical Albany, behind closed doors," and accused Cuomo of using the tragedy to push his gun agenda, perhaps in order to win national attention.
"This is a Trojan Horse. This is not about semi-automatic rifles. This is a sweeping set of gun laws the governor is using," he said. More than you think. All it takes is a triggering event, a John Brown's Raid or Archduke Ferdinand assassination kind of thing. After that, events take on a certain seemingly inexorable momentum.
I don't think major media outlets and lobbyists and pundits and national-level elected officials have a clear grasp of the mood of the country. They're too insulated and removed. If they did, their spit would dry up.

I think 1861 is a better analogy than 1770. If you pick your side, you're no longer firing on your "fellow Americans." Those on the other side are on the other side.
Without an organized force of some combination of local law enforcement, national guard units, and military units that have commanders who bring their troops to "our" side, we don't stand a chance, but when blood starts spilling, you'll be able to pull the trigger. We all will.

I am very fond of riggers. My company command was an aerial delivery company. Started as Armor/Cav but had a back injury that compressed the discs so much I couldn't be doing 55mph cross-country in 70 tons of steel and Chobham anymore. So the Army's perfectly logical solution, was to have me jump out of planes 3 times per month.
The former military in here will recognize that exact "thought" process.

This is where the "liberals" have been headed for a long time.
We all know that "liberals" have absolutely no concept of "unintended consequences."
If you continually interpret the Constitution to mean exactly the opposite of what the plain text says, that same interpretation would lead you inexorably to the conclusion that the federal government (created by that Constitution, remember) has no authority to do anything to anyone, anywhere.
Do they really, REALLY want to go there?

Number of police and military - Around 2 million.
if even 10% of owners resist thats 5.5 million. That also assumes the military and police are 100% pro government.

Roll Call Report: House GOP leaders consider four-year debt limit deal
The far right, beacuse it refuses to work with their Republican colleagues on a compromise, will once again have impelled final legislation that is further to the left than would otherwise be the case.

Unfortunately, not as stupid as you think if the Congresscritter from NY State has their way.
My response would be, "Ah, so you would have liked to potentially have George W. Bush in office for another term? Good to know!"

Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?
If you have reason to be worried about being shot with a .338 Lapua, body armor should be second on your shopping list after an armored personnel carrier.

On top of that, I'm also thinking that the troops stationed in J'Ville are still registered to vote at their permanent residence in another state rather than locally.

Honestly, the few times I've heard him speak, he sounds at least somewhat conservative. He's made a lot of noise about bringing different sporting events to Jacksonville in an effort to increase the city's profile and bring in more business. He talks a pretty good game, we'll see how his actions do.

The politicians are lackeys or have a lack thereof of professional training of any kind, much less run a business and be righteous doing the business of we the people. When politicians have lost discretion and accountability the we are all at the mercy of their prejudices and impulses and ignorance too common sense.

Resistance to these idiot laws is forming, and as all such should be, it involves the law profession. Can't divulge much more, we'll simply have to see what happens.

You and Polar Scout Paul Siple, inventor of the Wind Chill Factor.
Little story for ya: The retired postmaster there was in WWII, and "seconded" to HM's Forces. Riding through Jerusalem in a British troop-carrier trailer, he looked down between the floorboards and saw the maker's plate: "White Motor Company, Montpelier Ohio."

There's a not insignificant chance that your alternate universe has a Molotov-Ribbentrop-Hull Pact in it.
Remember, it was the State Department's refusal to accept the "Voyage of the Damned" refugees after Kristallnacht that convinced Hitler he was free to get his Holocaust on. And Hull (and Roosevelt) knew exactly what message he was sending in America's name.
If Hitler had been fighting the Jews, I think the U.S. would have joined him.

I want to see a Democrat win states like Virginia, Ohio, PA, Michigan, etc after passing a law that every gun owner has to renew their "gun registration" every 5 years.
I really hope he's the Dem nominee in 2016.

Seriously, you need to upgrade your vest. Also you need level IV plates to possibly stop .338. You can also buy additional kevlar inserts.

and that is if not 100% true definitely not that false and I am not the person who invokes the regime as God and hate what we did because I learned the lessons of Communism and Fascism of course I read them from a different perspective than Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers.

You guys think that proposal, which includes tax and entitlement reforms we've been seeking for a decade, is "surrender toward victory?" What the hell is wrong with you?

You think there is a snowball's chance in hell we get to east the Ambrosia of entitlement reform of any kind without Obama and the media turning it into a shit sandwich to get total power back and render it vaporware you're dreaming.
Taking the biggest gun off the table so Obama takes nothing off the table is stupid Gabe.
Your heart may be arguably in line with what I desire, but I've seen this skit before *spoiler warning* Obama yanks away the football.
