...Two words: pathetic dork. How sickeningly debased our politics have become that this jabbering cartoon weasel could be taken seriously for a second as a candidate for mayor of New York. But beyond that, I have been amazed by the almost total absence of psychological critique in news analyses of the silly Weiner saga. For heavenÂ’s sake, Weiner is no randy stud with a sophisticated sex life that we need to respect. The compulsion to exhibit and boast about oneÂ’s penis is embarrassingly infantile Â— the obvious residue of some squalid family psychodrama in childhood that is now being replayed in public...

97 Another thing that's bothered me recently and since this is an NYC thread... There is a lot to oppose about Stop and Frisk on 4th amendment grounds. I'm very sympathetic to that and that the judge, in spite of being an illiterate imbecile, may have gotten it right. But all the libs jumped over the discrimination argument. That it was racist in practice even though people who did not fit criminal descriptions were more likely to be stopped. But what about sexism? Do they ever "stop and frisk" women at all? That's where the real discrimination is.
