This quarter has been about fresh beginnings for our party.

Last week, we laid out big plans to revamp our voter contact and early vote strategies, change the way the primary and convention processes work, and overhaul our digital strategy. And that just scratches the surface.

We are ready to change the way our party does businesses, but we cannot do it alone.

Just send it some coin and help it complete this painful but needed process.

Why do we let biological men play women's sports?

Because to do  otherwise is  an offense to personhood. As we all know, social constructs such as male and female  exist solely for the   oppression of gender realization, a leftover from the male  patriarchy that has  proven so destructive of  gender  normalization  throughout history. No person should be denied their true selves, whether that self  is traditionally viewed  as a man or a womyn  by the unenlightened knuckle-draggers who inhabit the interior of the country who cling   bitterly to their guns and Bibles in the face of  a new Progressive  Utopia.

All very crude..., but I was marginally sympathetic with Baldwin. After all, his daughter obviously had it coming, if not in those terms. Of course, Baldwin was the one who planted that acorn, and fostered it into what he was apparently surprised to learn was a bratty little bitch.

>>#114 It was his son's response - not the father's. He wasn't even present.

Absolutely, though the father has a reputation of behaving badly with paparazzi (ie to the point where he has physically assaulted one).

Again, one would think that with the elder Penn's history, and the probable presence of said paparazzi in their lives on a regular basis, that a. the 19 year old son would have learned a better reponse than violently screaming racial epithets, and/or that b. the father would have instructed the son in some better strategies.

>>Nor was a crime committed (in the US)and he has no career that I am aware of that will be hurt by this. It was bad manners. Nothing more.

Actually behaving in a manner that causes someone to fear imminent physical attack *IS* against the law (its called "assault"), so this pretty easily could have crossed that line.  In this case the "reporter" in question said it didn't, so it didn't.

Regardless, the issue here isn't whether or not Penn jr did anything illegal or whether or not it would hurt his career, its just a sort of interesting display.

Remember Sean Penn himself won "best actor" academy award for his portrayal of gay rights activist Harvey Milk.  So its just interesting to see the contrast in "tolerance" here by Penn's son.

You can set it for both daily and cumulative goals and then as you write you can look up and see a nice little bar creeping up towards the finish line. If you are at all competitive, you start writing more because dammit that line is going to go from red to yellow to green to over the goal so help me ha ha score! I win! With Gibson, at least part of it was because he financed and produced "Passion of Christ", which was widely perceived as being anti-Semitic, and part of it because his father is an open Holocaust-denier.

He's got some background there with anti-semitism, which is why there is at least some good reason to suspect that his famous drunken anti-Semitic rant wasn't a "one off".

As to Gibson being "shunned" to the extent that's true, its probably not just due to perceived anti-semitism, but also due to apparent emotional instability.   He's definitely "shunned" in the Jewish community, but bluntly, is that so unreasonable?

228

The increasing incidence of liberals crashing into each other's beliefs, property, rights, etc., (as they define them) is quite heartening to me.

It's the demolition derby of internally inconsistent belief systems.  Like a man at a recent dinner party was delineating his absolute hatred of all religions, speaking of them in the most contemptuous tones and terms, because of their intolerance.

Now they're starting to turn it on each other, since conservatives of any stripe have thus far refused to self-immolate in shame.

Grab some popcorn and let the fireworks begin.

238 I've pumped out 3500 words in a day. Some of my best stuff, too. But I lose steam. I really have a book at 46,000 words. It's been about 30 years. Every so often I come back to it. It's in lots of sections, needing a linking sentence or paragraph, or short sequence here and there. Yeah, it's a bad way to write. Starting something new? I can write a third of a book in two weeks pretty easily. But I'm writing the parts I'm surest on. Filling in the rest gets tougher.

Posted by: zsasz at March 27, 2013 10:09 AM (MMC8r)

239 MWR you are now asking for it.

"Sluggor cracked the Seventh Courtesan, who was named Moonlight Rain, to reach his ultimate goal.  For he sought the Queen of the Courtesan Corps.  If he conquered her, he would be forever famous and powerful.  Thus when Moonlight Rain fell all was revealed for Sluggor.  The multiple panels of fine silk in pastel shades and gold thread parted to reveal the Queen in her own boudoir.  With a powerful stride and the sweat of recent sex dripping off him he went to claim his destiny.  She had a body both voluptuous and sleek he could see, it was barely encased in pale pink silk and languidly laid out across silk pillows.  Her face was veiled in rose colored silk so all Sluggor could see was the soft doe brown eyes pulling him forward.  He reached her side and went to one knee, with a trembling hand Sluggor lifted the face veil away to kiss the Queen imagining soft lips that would welcome him.

That is when the screaming started.  For the visage hidden under the rose colored veil was that of a hag with deep wrinkles and leathery skin.  The soft as petal lips became those of chapped brown leather while the imagined pearl white teeth became the sharp teeth of a barracuda.  Sluggor tried to break free but her arms had the strength of five men it seemed and they held him in place.  As Sluggor fearfully shut his eyes at the approaching teeth all he could think of was the warning of the Wise Man of the Mountain he had consulted before embarking on this quest - 'Watch out boy she's a man-eater.' Then Sluggor knew nothing else of this world."
