— Ace If you read Allah's digest -- I didn't watch the speech; I have to rely on his digest -- it's pretty anodyne and... empty, of course. A few gestures of Racial Solidarity to sugar-coat the bitter pill that they're not going to do anything to George Zimmerman except continue to harass him.
There are little nods he gives to his base, which are forgivable, I suppose, as far as these things go -- he is, after all, simply a debased Chicago-machine politician; we can expect little better of him -- and then an extended riff that appears to designed to get as much wrong about stand your ground and self-defense generally as possible.
The point is, I'm not outraged by the speech; as usual, Obama doesn't really say anything enough to be outraged by. Usually he speaks in constructions that might be termed Notional Sentences, that is to say, assemblages of words which mirror the structure and form of a content- and idea-conveying sentence but which actually contain far less than the sum of their word-parts.
To the extent that his empty words have any meaning whatsoever, they contain three major elements:
1. Things which are true, but so obvious a kindergartener knows them. (We are each shaped by our experiences.)
2. Things which are not obvious, because they are also untrue. (Stand your ground laws give white people the right to shoot black people without cause.)
3. Heroic self-reference. (As did Jesus incarnate God the Father, so I Barack Hussein Obama, in a moment of apotheosis, incarnate the lamb Trayvon Martin.)
What I'm more outraged about is the reflexive need of the left to say all sorts of asinine things, like that Obama's saying things no president has said before, and, Serious You Guys, we're really getting into some next-level ish with this latest edict from DOTUS (the Deity of the United States).
On Twitter, I challenged Buzz Feed's Ben Smith, who had claimed Obama always spoke "incredibly" about race, to apprise me as to what specific insights and memorable sentences he recalls from any Obama utterance, whether on race or any other subject; as of this 6 o'clock deadline, he has yet to respond to me.
Almost as if it's unfair to ask for evidence of the Lightbringer's alleged eloquence and perspicacity. Almost like I'm being a party pooper, because everyone on the left knows Obama speaks in mush and babytalk, but you're supposed to praise him as if he were like unto a god anyhow, and I'm just being a dick by ruining their fun.
Here, Touré asserts that Obama really informed him about the black experience, which I sort of buy, given that Touré is a graduate of the tony whitebread Milton Academy and derives most of his knowledge about the black experience from Fat Boys videos.
Below, Melissa Harris Perry embarrasses herself for the cause; I'm sure Chris Matthews had a least several erections even hearing Obama say the word "black experience."

I would think that those whose forbears were actual, you know - SLAVES are the only people who get to claim the "black experience" mantle.
And yeah, I can see where he "sees" himself as Trayvon - all that choom and lack of drive certainly tracks.
I'm betting his school grades were on a par with St. Skittles' grades as well - but Trayvon's parents have made sure to put those under lock and key (just like Obama).
Is it wrong to wish that Mr. Obama''s eventual fate had been the same as St. Skittles? We might have been spared the last 5 years of racial animus.

Obama and the Left are getting the "stretch it out" signal from the producer.
We've all seen on TV when the producer puts his hands together and then spreads his arms apart which tells the performer to stretch out the segment. That's what all this is aboot -- Obama, Toure and the media stretching out Trayvon's death. Repeating the same old crap, wasting time until the next Trayvon or school shooting comes along.
It's all one big bullshit production.

This is part of the program to lay groundwork for things to come. At first, when there were only small demonstrations and riots, I thought maybe we had dodged a bullet. Not so. The whole grievance industry crew has continued to talk shit about race. That they just won't shut up about it, and that the talk is escalating, means the real shit storm is on the way. What is coming has the backing and tacit approval of the U.S. Federal Government and every big-city Democrat mayor in America.
It's going to grow like the successive waves of a tsunami.
Remain vigilant. Maintain situational awareness on the street, look to your home defense, avoid certain areas of town. Maybe I 'm just a paranoid crank. I hope so, actually -- that would be preferable to what I think is coming.

Yeah, that's so universal among my lefty friends. They don't measure success based on actual real-world outcomes, but on feelings and perceived intentions. They value slick salesmen more than hard-working laborers.

Obama said black Americans feel pain over George Zimmerman's acquittal for Martin's murder because of a history of racism that 'doesn't go away.'
And there you have it you Racy Racists, by accident or virtue of birth you will always and forever be responsible for the past racism well before your time on earth. Fore. Ever.

Makes sense, and I'm glad you clarified. Sounds like a perfect setup for that honest conversation about race that Atty General Holder claims to want so very badly.
Personally, I do not want a conversation about race, honest or otherwise. I do not give a crap about race. I care about individuals.

Having Obama has President has been an embarrassment and incredibly damaging to the country, whether politically, economically, culturally, or morally. But it has done all of us a service, too. It has allowed us to see the type of idolatry for certain leaders that exists among some citizens of dictatorships (e.g., North Korea) and banana republics (e.g., most African nations). It is just the latest example of how despite them calling conservatives fascists and right-leaning leaders dictators (e.g., Dubya), the Left would definitely be the ones who would support a dictator in this country, as long as the dictator was on the political Left.

You know what I just noticed? Black people don't really seem to give a shit about Zimmerman-Martin. Other than the first night of the verdict in which the 'pro' flash mob showed up, there hasn't been much noise from the rank and file.
The only noise we're hearing, really, are from Obama and race-mongers and the race-baiters.
It's almost as if this whole thing would've been forgotten about by the people several days if the media and political hacks quit talking about it..

That's what I'm perceiving, too, and I'm a little unhappy with the credulity some on the right are giving to the MSM on this.
Sure, many black Americans resent profiling, so they're way more suspicious of Zimmerman than, say, I am. But that's about as far as it goes.
This really is a freak show for the race hustlers, and little more.

You and others have made that point before on this blog, and it's valid, in my view. Prior to WWII, a Japanese minister openly expressed envy of Geobbels' propaganda efforts and wished Japan had an equivalent to the Jews, a public scapegoat upon which they could direct and focus public hatred and fear. I sometimes wonder if Orwell heard or read about it at the time, as historian John Toland did, and used it as an inspiration for Goldstein and the two-minute hate.
Authoritarians and totalitarians need to generate emotions like hatred and fear in order to cloud rational thought and shut down the possibility of debate. But no, Zimmerman's not the target, at least not beyond this news cycle. As an exercise for just one week, count the villains, bad guys, or all-around unsympathetic characters that you see on television and film who are identified as Tea Party extremists or rightwing radicals or some such thing. At the end of that week, you'll come to the same realization I did: the target is us, we, you and me and all those who believe as we do. We are Emmanuel Goldstein.

I would have liked to see the look on the faces of obama and his minions when they discovered Zimmerman was hispanic, a democrat and an obama fan. I'll bet they put a lot of time and money into this project before discovering those facts. Just like everything else this administration does, it either turns to dross or fails because of incompetence or overreaching. They soldiered on with the farce...too late to change tactics. This speech was to fan the flames...nothing more and nothing less.
