— Open Blogger There's a lot of heavy stuff going down, dude.
Asteroids!
Drones!
Snowpocalypse!
Gun Control!
With each we must seek out the lighter side lest we become part of the bitter, clinging.... well, you know.
Despite all that's going on around us, I'd still have to say, this number would play a prominent role in my curtain call.
Imagine you are writing the score for this musical called life. What would be your opening number? Your closing number? What number would best express your feelings upon the birth of your child?
Write your own score. Nobody can do it like you can.

What number would best express your feelings upon the birth of your child?
Is there a song that expresses "some point in the future but haven't experienced this yet"
(Not all us Morons are over 50
).

Notice Effective Immediately:
All greater Los Angelos citizens are urged to stay in their homes and lock their doors. A gang of armed people are on the loose and shooting up the city. They may be identified by observing their vehicles, which are equipped with light bars on top. Most also wear dark blue uniforms.
If you see people matching this desrciption, do not contact! They are armed and dangerous. Don't call 911 either, as that will simply attract more of them to your location.

My favorite line, which is vaguely libertarian.
Someone's gonna sue for harassment
Someone gonna sue 'cause they can't forget
Someone gonna sue poor old Philip J. Morris for selling 'em one too many cigarettes
And Philip Morris, well, he'll probably sue me for putting his name in this song

If this book had been available in 1969, Ted Kennedy would have read How to Avoid Huge Ships. On that night back from the party, he would have known how to tell the difference between Huge Ships and small islands. But since Sen. Kennedy didn't know How to Avoid Huge Ships, or what a huge ship looks like in the dark, he mistook Chappaquiddick Island for a Huge Ship and swerved off a bridge to avoid it. Had the accident not happened, Ted Kennedy would have been elected President all thanks to How to Avoid Huge Ships (and how to distinguish them from small islands).
How to Avoid Huge Ships could have changed history, along with a book on How to Drive Huge Oldsmobiles

If you've seen her mug shot from her youth, you'd see that she had the crazy eyes. My hunch is that before she turned to blowing up buildings, she burned down ex-boyfriends' houses

Not only that, you can get laid, buy crack and Thunderbird wine.
Usually all three from the same person.

I said in a previous thread that LAPD thinks he may still be in the Angeles Forest. No word on whether they've requested napalm for the police helicopters

Yeah, this could work...
Birth - Where will the dimple be? - Rosemary Clooney
Childhood - hello goodbye - Beatles; I got a name - Jim Croce
High School - Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel; Starship Trooper - Yes; Walk All Over You - AC/DC
College - Senses Working Overtime - XTC; Crazy Mixed Up Kid - Smithereens
Work - The Female of the Species - Space; Riding with the King - John Hiatt; Nightswimming - REM; You only live twice - Nancy Sinatra
Retirement - Call Me the Breeze - Skynyrd
Death - Can I take my gun up to heaven - Cracker

Nah, they would need a permit from the Forest Service to use Napalm, really it's used to burn off timber land and that would take a week or two.
I am going with an "accidental" truck full of ammonia turning over.

Since music for a funeral is certainly "closing music" I guess this fits.
For John's funeral I chose a song by Delirious? The River is Here by Vinyard Worship and Yerushalaiyim by Ouf Simchas (which my daughters danced to in the same sanctuary exactly two years later). My mother-in-law asked for a hymmn but didn't specify performer. As the funeral starts, on comes the voice of *Elvis*. I was sitting next to my M-i-l and both of us almost started laughing because John *hated* Elvis' music.
