Lois Lerner Emails Released
— Ace

She's still getting paid, of course.

People who are still getting paid and have been told there is no threat of prosecution tend to keep their secrets.

So it's no accident that she's getting paid to not work. She's now being paid to shut up, which is what I expect she'll keep doing, as there's now a career in withholding evidence for her.

It appears she targeted the Tea Party in order to create the grounds for a lawsuit to get the Citizens United case reexamined.

“Tea Party Matter very dangerous,” Ms. Lerner said in the 2011 email, saying that those applications could end up being the “vehicle to go to court” to get more clarity on a 2010 Supreme Court ruling on campaign finance rules.

In another email, from 2012, Ms. Lerner acknowledges that the agencyÂ’s handling of the tax-exempt applications had been bungled at the beginning, though she said they had taken steps to correct it.

“It is what it is,” she said in the email, released Thursday by the Ways and Means Committee. “Although the original story isn’t as pretty as we’d like, once we learned this [sic.] were off track, we have done what we can to change the process, better educate our staff and move the cases. So, we will get dinged, but we took steps before the ‘dinging’ to make things better and we have written procedures.”

That email suggests agency employees knew they had gone overboard in their scrutiny — despite top IRS officials telling Congress that there wasn’t any special scrutiny of conservative groups.

But like most Republicans Issa is all mouth and no action.

Ah, they have procedures.  Procedures by which the civil rights of Americans are systematically violated.  Never mind, then.

16 Goodbye, rule of law. It was nice to have... well, heard about you. PS I think the interpretation here is a little generous, her implication this was an overzealous mistake that was rolled back is transparently false - firstly because she's been playing the same game at least as far back as the 90s, and secondly because it hasn't yet stopped. Thus the rule of law is dead, I hope you enjoy the rule of the mob.

26 So it's no accident that she's getting paid to not work. She's now being paid to shut up, which is what I expect she'll keep doing, as there's now a career in withholding evidence for her. And this- the entrenched bureaucracy- is what we need to fight more than anything with the exception of the MFM (delenda est). The entrenched bureaucracy is worse than the Democrat party. It's worse that Vlad Putin donkey punching our president in front of the world, and then selling the sex-tape. If the bureaucracy does not go, then we are doomed as a nation.

Honestly it's getting harder and harder not to start believing in crazy conspiracy theories.

All my previous "crazy" theories like the government spying on my email and the media being completely shamelessly in the tank for the Dems even for poorly-thought-out military adventures are turning out to be true.

The tea party needs to advertise the rinos they've already primaried out and take a few (make that a lot) extra each cycle to serve as ongoing examples.
