Martha Raddatz Cheers Hillary
— rdbrewer

From NewsBusters, via Ben's headline dump, the unbiased professional Martha Raddatz fawns over Hillary.

On the October 20 edition of the program, ABC’s Martha Raddatz declared that Hillary Clinton was “on fire” while campaigning for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe on Saturday.

Co-anchor Dan Harris kicked off the Hillary watch by pretending that Mrs. Clinton was making a comeback: “[A] lot of people talking this morning about the return of Hillary Clinton, attending her first political rally in four years on Saturday.”

. . .

Harris then brought Raddatz into the discussion, and the senior foreign affairs correspondent cheered Mrs. Clinton’s campaign appearance: “This was the first explicitly political event for Hillary Clinton in four years, and she was on fire campaigning for the Virginia gubernatorial candidate, her old friend Terry McAuliffe. She was a big draw, lots of applause and lots of fire bombs aimed at the Republicans.”

What, these "firebombs" don't make her into a divisive partisan extremist ideologue whose negative tone is causing the public to hate politics and politicians even more?

Pure boosterism from someone who would never say the same about a conservative.

50 Ok you guys. I feel like a fuggin' idiot. Wife's van broke down a week and a half ago. Blown head gasket, ruptured radiator. Almost 2k dollars later, we get it back, (in addition to the head gasket, and radiator, the alternator, one fuel injector, all plugs, and wires were replaced). Runs great! Promptly stops running just after we drove it home. I fiddle with it, check fuses, check for spark, that kind of thing. Still doesn't run.

Wife suggests maybe it's out of gas. Light Bulb. (The gas gauge hasn't worked in a while). I put two gallons in the tank, and....nothing. We call the shop, and the owner himself came up to take a look at it. Removed the gas cap, poked his finger in to open the little flap fuel door thingy, and had me turn the key to the run position. "Out of gas", he said.

The van was on just enough of a slope that the two gallons I added earlier pooled up on the side of the tank opposite that of the fuel pump, and the shop owner was listening to the pump. So....learned that neat trick.

Added another five gallons, and now it's running fine.

When someone buys a whore, they pay a lot of attention to the whore, pay her well, and even though they tell her what to do, are interested in what the whore is doing. 66 Gen. Ray Odierno told a Washington conference Monday that the U.S. Army had not conducted any training in the last six months of the fiscal year ending Sept. 30.

And, he said, there currently are only two Army brigades rated combat-ready. That's a total of between 7,000 to 10,000 troops and less than one-third what the combat veteran regards as necessary for proper national security. "Right now," Odierno said, "we have in the Army two brigades that are trained. That's it. Two."

Odierno also revealed that troops shipping out to Afghanistan now are prepared only to train and assist Afghan troops, not to conduct combat operations themselves. But, of course, there's no guarantee the Americans won't find themselves in combat while accompanying Afghan soldiers.

All this to obey Obama administration orders to drastically cut the Army and military spending and meet cuts under sequestration. Since the Obama Pentagon began the troop draw-down two years ago under the president's orders, more than 33,000 active duty soldiers have been cut.

Current plans call for additional reductions of 42,000 soldiers in the next 23 months to a total of 490,000, down from 570,000. Those cuts have been accelerated by two years under Pentagon orders and will involve involuntary separations of thousands.

But under directions from Obama Defense Secy. Chuck Hagel last summer, military planners now anticipate administration orders to sever another 70,000 active-duty Army personnel at all levels, most of them unwillingly and after receiving expensive training. The 420,000-level is the absolute minimum Odierno says he can effectively operate, but he warns equipment updating and purchases have already been adversely affected.

"The worst-case scenario," Odierno said, "is you ask me to deploy thousands of soldiers somewhere and we have not properly trained them to go because we simply don't have the dollars and money."

I categorically deny I've ever, and I repeat never munched out on pussy in my entire life.  That's a conservative lie from the right-wing conspiracy in an attempt to smear my stellar record of accomplishment.

Nonsense, it's way too early to declare this race over.  I'm sure Christie has a shot.  As does Lamar Alexander, Mike Huckleberry, Rick Sanctorium, AND Jeb.

Oh, and Jon the Huntsman.

O.K Fenelon,

You're right. Her polices have been HIDEOUS and have had repercussions far and WIDE . Her ideas are UGLY and her candidacy could be a WRINKLE in the next election.

103 "You know, sounds just like the sort of objective news woman we'd like to moderate the VP debate. Posted by: The Republicans"

After Raddatz and Candy Crowley "moderating" debates in 2012, Frank Fahrenkopf should have been taken out into the countryside in an unmarked van.

He should have come back. On foot. Covered with tar and feathers.

A party that was serious about winning would fire its Fahrenkopfs for gross incompetence. Fired as in truly fired. No comebacks. No do-overs. Banned, exiled, blacklisted, forever, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

That such exiles don't happen tells you a lot about how unserious the establishment GOP have become.

Jeez, look at the Democrats. They have had this same problem themselves. They kept Bob Shrum on as a top level consultant despite his 0-for-8 record in running Democratic presidential attempts. The only two really electorally successful Democratic presidents of postwar, Clinton and Obama, were built around Shrum-free campaigns.

A good case could be made that the Democrats might have performed even better than they have over the last four decades if they had permanently sacked Shrum from working for party candidates after his first two high profile flameouts. Shit, if not for Shrum and his incompetence, Kerry could potentially have beaten Bush in '04.

104 Caution: discussing Hillary's looks. I don't think Hillary is ugly on the outside. Not by a long shot. She has cankles. So? Most of us have a bad feature or two. With a good haircut she looks pretty good for her age. (Okay, that phase where she was growing it out was nasty, but it looks nice now.) Her taste in clothes is terrible. She could take a few pointers from Botox Pelosi, that's for sure. Remember the hideous, pathetically unchic gown she wore to Slick Willie's first inaugural? OMG. Then there's the disaster at Chelsea's wedding. And the horrid pantsuits.

108 'This was the first explicitly political event for Hillary Clinton in four years and she was on fire campaigning for the Virginia gubernatorial candidate, her old friend Terry McAuliffe. She was a big draw, lots of applause and lots of fire bombs aimed at the Republicans."

You didn't spend much time around the Yale Campus I take it.

They may look attractive but then they opened their mouths.

I lived in a coop back then which had more than 50-50 females and most went to Yale.

I was askeerd to respond to some most of their crap for fear of being voted out. (it was cheap rent)

Put me off wymyns for a while.

118 I know this thread is probably done, but I need to say this and get this off my chest because I'm a native Virginian and conservative:

The only - the ONLY - fucking reason McAuliffe is running for VA governor is to help carry purple VA for Hillary! in 2016.  The.  Only.  Reason.  She's campaigning for him and he'll do the same when the time comes.  It's the only reason why a carpetbagging douche like McAuliffe would pick VA to run.

The sad part is, he's probably going to win as enough carpet bagging Northern Virginians will buy his bullshit and elect his corrupt ass.  In return, he will do his best to get Hillary! elected and, of course, turn VA from a once-proud conservative gun-supporting state into a mushy blue mess.
