McConnell Leads Judd by 9 in first KY-Senate Poll
— CAC

Per Harper polling, which found McConnell at a generic 60% re-elect number and leading a generic Democrat by eleven points. With only a 35% approval rating state wide for Judd, Kentucky Democrats would probably do better with someone less liberal, vocal, and perhaps not as puffy.

79 No joke guys, "Puffy" is being seriously pushed by many Kentucky Democrats. She's just so "Cool" and Mitch with his unfortunate neck is not. Kentuckians have never been impressed with Hollywood. In fact, the word, "hostile" comes to mind. Celebrities often wander over here believing that their status will wow all those country bumpkins, who have never *gasp* been in their awesome presence before now. Most of them don't pay enough attention to the news to realize we are knee-deep in them at least four times a year due to all of the equine events. You can't attend a dance during the spring or fall without wading through a vertiable soup of them. And at least one of these strutting peacocks will assume you live to for the honor of being invited over to pander to their egos and sex lives. Bleeek. But I digress, it's worth the effort to keep an eye on her political maneuvering and to build an ammunition file. How many other celebrity idiots have we ignored, only to watch them actually pull it off. Al Frankllin comes to mind. If that idiot can be elected, so can Judd.

87 One more note: Mitch has a powerful machine behind him and traditionally, Kentuckians dispise left-wingers. BUT, it must be said- He is not popular EVEN with his base. Why is a very long story, but he's not considered likeable- he just brings home the bacon. This venerability could become very serious if a charismatic candidate ran against him -hence why they are considering Judd. Mitch needs to get his kester home and start mending fences.

96 Agreed that Kentuckians are a different breed. Perhaps I'm getting concerned over notthing, but I've been concerned at the number of well-known Democratic party faithfuls pushing her name, or at the idea of running a charismatic candidate against him. He's lost many of his base supporters as worker bees due to not tending fences in his own backyard, and being hostile to people who didn't fall in line with the party dictates. Or, perhaps it's been a long week and I need to stay away from the computer and reading political news.
