20 Well reporting from behind enemy lines over at Space Battles again. The lefties are going just nuts with glee about Bachmann not running and are being typically vicious in their comments. They are down playing the scandals as nothing and that the IRS was justified in targeting conservatives. Overall they have a sense of triumphalism and are certain they will take control of Government and drive the Republican party out of existence. The big thing they talk about now is how far left the country will be able to move before the current Democratic party splinters into several more moderate parties. In short they are their typical sickening selves.

How do you advance the conservative agenda when you don't control the Senate or the White House? I'm still waiting for someone to explain this to me.

Go read National Review this week about all the conservatives McConnell has put on federal regulatory boards like the SEC. These people are doing more to prevent stupid regulations and advance freedom than Ted Cruz or Mike Lee are doing with all their rah-rah rhetoric.

My beef with McConnell is too much talk, not enough action. And he's not the only one with this problem, IMO. Yes, his ad is good, but I've seen too many good ads made by pols who get elected and then turn around and defect to the other side.

Like my own Senator: Rube-io. I thought I could've trusted him. Now I regret my vote for him.

For starters, you can stop helping Reid advance the progressive agenda for the sake of "doing something" and "bipartisanship."

More importantly, you can use the floor of the Senate to make bombastic speeches to at the very least raise awareness or make the evening news. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz understand this.

I agree, but it's a fine line to walk. We over-supplied the Rooskies during WWII, and over-supported the Chinese. In both instances the support was very well founded, but we were VERY mistaken doing it to the extent that we did. Hindsight, of course, but we should tread carefully. To the extent that Assad and the 'rebels' bloody each other, I am not too disturbed that we are enablers.
