— Russ from Winterset A peer-reviewed study comparing/contrasting the effectiveness of various lubricants in easing the pain of having Comprehensive Immigration Reform jammed up America's collective squeakhole. In descending order of effectiveness:
1. Astroglide
2. Vaseline
3. Spit
4. Nothing (control group)
5. Assurances that "Hispanics are a natural GOP constituency, and will rocket conservatism back into the White House for the next 50 years"

File the following story under 'What are they thinking?'
These people are stupid. That is all I can say. They thought the mother cheetah could not raise four kittens. So took two of them and raised them as house cats so the cheetahs have grown up with a 3 yr old boy and 1 yr old girl. And to top out the hubris of these 'trainers' is they want to now reintroduce these house raised cheetahs back into the wild.

A bipartisan group in the House of Representatives has been working on its own version of legislation to overhaul the nationÂ’s immigration laws...
The current agreement includes W-Visas, a program for low-skilled year-round temporary workers, capping it at 200,000 visas annually and limits the number of visas available to construction occupations at 15,000 annually.
Republicans are pushing several options to increase the number of construction visas available: making those visas a percentage of the overall W-Visas, rather than imposing a hard cap; making it easier for employers who still face labor shortages after the quota is met to use a “safety valve” exemption to bring in more foreign workers; and creating a returning worker exemption, in which those workers are not counted under the cap.

And this is our side negotiating to "limit" immigration.
Doomed.

"Most laws are meant to stop people from doing something, and to penalize those who disregard those laws. More generally, laws are meant to protect the society from the law breakers.
But our immigration laws are different. Here the whole focus is on the "plight" of those who have broken the laws, and on what can be done to lift the stigma and ease the pressures they feel, so that they can "come out of the shadows" and "normalize" their lives."
I'm sick of them demanding it is our responsibility to fix the self-inflicted pain felt by people who entered the country illegally.

if you strip away the text that is in parentheses, and just read the non-parenthesized text, it is all just parables and shit.
For example:
"Had we sent this Koran to a mountain, you would have seen the mountain prostrated in fear of Allah.
(Mocking the God of Moses)"
You have to interpret the "sending Koran to a mountain" phrase to think that it represents a mockery of the God of Moses, but at face value, it doesn't look like it is. It could be, but at face value, it isn't a direct insult.
That's all my point is.

If we want to prove the hypothesis that Muslim clerics really are just spitting in our faces when they give 'invocations' in Arabic, then I think we have to find a clearer example of this that isn't so reliant on an interpretation of the cleric's words.

I somewhat disagree with this. A law that is not enforced is hardly a law. This society has given them a wink and a nod for too long, that's the problem. There's two sides to the law-breaking coin, the employers who hire illegals have committed the more egregious crime IMO.
Here's my immigration plan: pick a date, say, 6 months from now. By this date, all employers must report illegals working for them. Those reported will receive work visas, but can NEVER attain citizenship. After this date, any company found hiring illegals loses their tax license.
Posted by: Disgusting Oratory at May 11, 2013 06:15 AM (e/5bK)
I agree with you on this point, but islam is so pervasive in indoctrinating its adherents that it is very difficult to get to the essence of what was said. Words as interpreted by those raised in the remnants of a Western Judeo-Christian environment, may be interpreted quite differently by those raised in a different all encompassing philosophical system.
I know this is overly simplistic, but try several iterations of a really good machine translation program of a metaphorical concept, and you should get a glimpse of what I mean.

The imam recited these verses to remind his real audience of Q. 59:1-2. That is something like "praise God... it is He who expelled the infidels of the People of the Book from their homes during the first assembly".
Yeah, he was calling our troops "companions of the Fire" and owners of a Book wholly inferior to the reciting of suras.

You really think they will do real damage to Obama? After the past 5 years?
Sadly, I rather doubt that myself.
Still, it's possible that at some point, we could start to experience TFG Fatigue. It's happened before. For us, it began in '08.

The ruling classes foolish belief in the efficacy of gated cities that can indefinitely withstand the barbarians at the gates will be their undoing. Unfortunately, the rest of will have been undone sooner.

All reasonable people agree that the DHS needs to be able to ask you citizens for your papers....please!
Illegal immigrants that haven't had time to acquire biometric papers yet will be given a ballot (pre-marked D) and a waiver on the papers bit because their EBT cards will suffice!

We just need the right combination of highly motivated bloodhounds on the scent.

Yep. Zuckerberg's new political action group set up to benefit Rubio is called "Americans for a Conservative Direction".
Pop quiz. To whose houses does Obama come on every Northern California visit to collect fat checks? Answer: Mark Zuckerberg's house and Sheryl Sandberg's house. Yeah, those Farcebook execs are highly conservative types right there. Bet the farm on it.
"Part of the excitement over Rubio was that he was Hispanic. The assumption Ace and others made was that he would use his ascribed race for the benefit of conservatives. No, he used conservatives and is benefiting his ascribed race."
And what's even worse is that Rubio himself is too dumb to realize that in a post-amnesty world, he as a Cuban "Hispanic" won't be the ultimate beneficiary.
All of those newly legalized illegals? They are going to be predominantly Mexican. And Mexicans barely consider Cubans to be Hispanic. Hell, some Mexicans barely consider Cubans to be human.
Mexicans will vote for Mexicans. As will Guatemalans vote for Guatemalans, Salvadorans for Salvadorans, et cetera. If you think America is ethnically fractured now, you ain't seen nothing yet.

I'm feeling doomy today.
I'm going to vote in Austin which makes me a 15%er here. And most of that 15% is going to vote for about a billion $ in bond spending, because it is for the children. Property taxes are already high, and only going higher, and I can't sell this old house because I can't afford to upgrade it to newest energy and handicap regs. I hate our California import city council.
Cons could take control of this city if just a few more would get off their ass and vote in the local elections.

Not so. The Japanese have so far successfully resisted the notion that their country must throw wide the doors to admit the rest of the world's scum, losers and freeloaders.
Fifty years from now, Japan will still be recognizably, uniquely Japanese.
You won't be able to say the same about, to pick another island nation, the UK.
Take a look at the per capita crime rate in Japan these days. Then look at the same figures for the UK. A hundred years ago they were roughly comparable.
That said, the Japanese are screwing up by not screwing. At least by not screwing procreatively. The demographic crunch they are going to run into by disallowing immigrants AND not having adequate numbers of kids of their own will be fearful indeed.
Hell, once Japan empties out for good, perhaps the white remnant from what's left of North America can flee there.
Or perhaps there will be a Japan which is populated predominantly by very old ethnic Japanese being cared for by AI robots.

Something was so bad at Benghazi that if it came to light it would have cost Obama the election. And I am not accepting the meme that it was a terrorist attack, in that he could have weaseled his way out of it by saying it was Ansur al Sharia instead of Al Qaeda, and the press and his supporters would have given him a paass. SO something else.
They did not expect this to happen, so they had no cover story. I will bet there were little hipsters in the White House furiously searching the interwebs for something to use as an excuse in the wee small hours of the morning on September 12. The video is the best they could come up with.
I think Hillary wasn't the person ultimately responsible for Benghazi. If she had been giving bad orders on her own, Obama would have happily thrown her under the bus with a public firing immediately after the election. I assume her resignation means she would no longer comply with his orders, but would keep her mouth shut. I also assume Panetta left for the same reason, and furthermore I believe Petraeus self-immolated rather than comply. I also think this is why the weasel Brennan was sent to the CIA.
I am still waiting to find out the answers to the following questions:
Why, despite his asking for more security and knowing Benghazi was a dangerous place full of terrorists, did Stephens go to Benghazi with little security?
Who gave the stand-down order and why?
Where is Ambassador Stephens diary, last seen in the custody of Anderson Cooper and CNN?

If they wanted to get an ambassador kidnapped to trade for the blind cleric, what would they have done differently? The two seals were told not to get involved. No one would expect the ambassador to die from smoke inhalation, and the traitors in the WH would never expect heroes to die in the ambassador's defense.
You might even have a bullshit story about an internet video ready to go.
