Mugabe wins 7th terms as Zimbabwe president

The good news is, everything that could possibly go wrong already has.

Mr Mugabe, 89, won 61% of the vote, against Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's 34%.
Mr Tsvangirai earlier said the elections for parliament and president were fraudulent and promised to take legal action

Fraudulent elections in Zimbabwe? Pshaw.

Very stupid neighbours, to escape a house by car during a tornado. The homes around here are tract homes and they were built with basements. You're safer down there than stuck in a traffic jam with other idiots.

While I recognize that some of that has to do with the various imperial forces that marched through there in the 16-19th centuries, surely it can't all be that bad.

bob, it sure seems that way. It's a racket, i tell ya. C-cells contain something like 4 times the energy of AA cells, but cost only a fraction more. AAA cells are even worse. And device designers typically design to use the smallest battery available, so they can crow about how small their device is.

An mp3 player configured to use a C-cell, or better still, a D-cell would be little more bulky, but would cost a metric fuckton less money to operate.

And don't get me started on "N" cells....

192 Zimbabwe is a very sad tale of a country that moved from breadbasket to basket case. When you design policies for Justice!!! instead of effectiveness you get equality of misery. Agricultural production and economy crashed 50% in less than 10 years. Turns out those White farmers could farm actually farm. Don't think for a second it couldn't happen here.
