BTW, am I the only    person who gets annoyed when i see a guy ambling along the street sans   shirt?   I mean, I have no problem with it when a guy's out working in the yard or on a job site and gets hot, or when he's having fun and playing football or    some other active sport,   or even when he's just lounging around his own home and says, "Fuck it.  I'm not wearing a shirt today."

I think the problem lies in the definition of "attractive."   There seems to me to be quite a wide gap between "attractive" and "unattractive."   By "attractive," do we mean visually appealing, such that they draw one's gaze?   Or do we simply mean attractive in the sense that they are not visually offputting?   And vice versa for unattractive?  

I think it's the difference between  "pleasant" and "beautiful/handsome" that makes up the attractive spectrum, whereas "unpleasant" and "repulsive" make up the unattractive spectrum,   with  "average" sitting right smack in the middle. 

And of course everyone's idea of what counts as attractive is going to be different (says the woman who to this day would take a guy with a quirky face over a guy with a Brad Pitt face any day of the week).

In defense of (some) of these women, I place at lot of the blame on clothing lines that don't have the foggiest idea how to design attractive clothes for women larger than a size 14.   Once you start getting into the size 18+ range, everything is essentially a square of fabric with sleeves.   If you want ANY definition of your curves you have to buy clothes that are slightly smaller than your actual size.       And if you have boobs larger than a C-cup,  forget it.   You're always going to look pregnant   because of how everything drapes, unless you're handy with a needle and thread   and can make some alterations.

But    some    women    do    take    it    too far, IMO, and wear stuff that's much too small and not terribly age appropriate.
