— Ace Apparently CBS was right, and CNN and Fox were wrong: Now they're saying there has been no arrest in the bombing case.
Though, take this as you will, I hear (for what that's worth) the distinction is between "in custody" and "arrested."
Supposedly the Boston Federal Courthouse has been "evacuated," but this could just be a clearing of a crowd out of the building. That is, everyone showed up there to chase the story and see the perp, and the master of the property (whoever that is) ordered it cleared.
I also saw reports it was a "Code Red" due to a "bomb threat." Honestly I have no idea; I'm not sure anyone does.
I'm told there's something going on at the MIT campus but I don't know what it is. Let me know if you know.
CBS: "WHITE MALE:" I'm starting to think they're just looking for anyone on videotape seen carrying a bag, and really do not have a firm idea of the actual bomber, despite previous reports.

Is This the Newest Suspect? Dan Riehl again, with another picture. This picture tracks with the CBS suspect description -- white (?-- possibly), white cap on backwards, black jacket. On second look, I don't see a grey hoodie though. I see what seems to be an olive-colored shirt under the jacket.
Dan also links this large-size picture of the site of the bomb's placement, before detonation.
I think perhaps this is a bit of a Rosetta Stone in the investigation -- I think investigators are looking for anyone seen with a backpack in this picture.

There were a ton of cops all over the place on my commute in to work this morning. I suspect everywhere in the country has a more visible police presence at this point in time, for safety's sake. I wonder if all this new "excitement" in Boston will mean EVEN MORE cops on my way HOME tonight.

Thanks. I'm considering flying there to visit him while he's there. We're not sure where he'll end up afterwards when he starts his active duty assignment. It might be the only chance before he ends up on the other side of the world.

The bomber was only trying to kill one person, but he didn't want to get caught and that one person dying alone would point the finger at him. So the bomber's scheme was to explode bombs, covering the death of the intended victim with the deaths of others, thereby hiding himself.

I won't justify it. But their reasoning was that insurance would cover it.
It really sucked because we had irreplaceable content on laptops/computers that was 100's of hours of work. They took servers, printers, everything.
People also had mementos that were taken. They even stripped the vending machine.
No way with all that security that was your average looter.

Here's a genuine secret 99% of the public doesn't know.. Probably 9 out of 10 'bomb', 'drug' dogs at large events or airports AREN'T TRAINED AT ALL. They are used as deterrent as most of the public thinks dogs have special powers. Training 1 dog as a drug or bomb dog is freakin expensive.

Profiling is fine with me. I like profiling. I do this often in airports and crowded events. I came close to profiling on a plane one afternoon. If my dear and steady husband had no been with me I would have been all over this. Tell me what you would do while we wait for something to happen. Keep in mind, please, that I fly a lot and have just prior and immediately after 9/11.
737, three seats each side of plane. Husband and me with seat between us. Me on window with trusty and heavy travel bag weaponry, husband on aisle. Two Asian-looking youths on opposite side. Oddly sitting in window and middle seats, with aisle seat everyone else fights over empty (looks a bit ghey). Both sweating profusely...I mean, beading sweat on foreheads. Passing around what appeared to be a small prayer book in foreign language, but husband claimed was not Arabic (trust me, I asked and did not take my eyes off these two). They did not, ever, talk. Appeared to be praying at times with eyes closed. Perhaps they were sweating from the power of my stare. Do not care, children. Anyway, they did not acknowledge anyone on plane, including flight attendant with cart. Just kept passing that book back and forth. Flight was an hour and a half or so. If a red headband had appeared I was going to go full insane. Others watched them, too. This is the only flight, out of a bazillion, that I was really convinced they were testing water. It was weird.

A fellow looter wouldn't do that but a guy freaking out a little and tossing all his shit might. He then walks back and forth watching people take the jackets. It looks to me like he was told to or decided give it away. I can see a company do that instead of getting criticized for continuing to sell jackets after a terrorist attack.

Ok, THAT's IT. I am drinking on a Wed, as I have done Mon and Tuesday and it is not in my supermodel chronic diet plan. It is 5pm somewhere in the Atlantic near me. This is too much. Will drink and pretend to do some stuff around here. Unreal.

Good. I hope they fire the "source", who I am assuming is FBI. I swear half the FBI agents I know have a media guy they leak to. They must teach a block on it at Quantico. Right after the block on "standing around" or "guarding the front door" at search warrants.
I'm venting a little, from personal experience.

Bruce Ivins, a microbiologist who was one of the experts consulted in the investigation following the 9-11 anthrax attacks, became the FBI's prime suspect for reasons too lengthy to go into here. Knowing his arrest was imminent, he committed suicide. In all probability, Ivins committed those crimes. He had the requisite skillset, motive (Ivins had 2 patents pending for anthrax vaccines), and a long history of mental illness. So yes, you're right, the case isn't closed but the perpetrator is--with reasonable certainty--known.
