Obama: Damn, That Newtown Shooter Killed 20 With a "Fully Automatic Weapon"

Good. So let's ban fully automatic weapons like we did for virtually all persons as we already have done since 1933.

Now, over the next couple of months, weÂ’ve got a couple of issues: gun control. (Applause.) I just came from Denver, where the issue of gun violence is something that has haunted families for way too long, and it is possible for us to create common-sense gun safety measures that respect the traditions of gun ownership in this country and hunters and sportsmen, but also make sure that we donÂ’t have another 20 children in a classroom gunned down by a semiautomatic weapon -- by a fully automatic weapon in that case, sadly.

A mom in my (ostensibly non-political) mom's group posted a note saying that we should all sign the ban semi-automatic gun petition because no one needs those kinds of guns to hunt. The patsy was to be given an automatic but they could not work in a way on how he got it as they are all banned and the mother would not even be allowed. They also could not think of a way on how the patsy could get the precision drill and shop to turn the AR to a full auto but this was in the original plan of the shooting and worked its way into the teleprompter.
