— Ace Hahahahaha.
We should start calling Obama's White House the Alpha-Test Administration.
No we shouldn't. That's dumb.
I got nothin'.
In other ObamaFAIL news:
A design firm, not wishing to be associated with failure, removes all references to its work on ObamaCare.
Tech experts say it needs at least a three-week shut down so that the massive problems can be fixed.
Trust the government, folks:
The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months and the eventual overhaul of the entire system, technology experts told USA TODAY."The application could be fundamentally flawed," said Jeff Kim, president of CDNetworks, a content-delivery network. "They may be using 1990s technology in 2.0 world."
Recent changes have made the exchanges easier to use, but they still require clearing the computer's cache several times, stopping a pop-up blocker, talking to people via Web chat who suggest waiting until the server is not busy, opening links in new windows and clicking on every available possibility on a page in the hopes of not receiving an error message. With those changes, it took one hour to navigate the HealthCare.gov enrollment process Wednesday.
Those steps shouldn't be necessary, experts said.
...
"It is a core problem in the sense of it's fundamental to this thing actually working, but it's not necessarily a problem that the people who wrote HealthCare.gov can get to," Engates said. "Even if they had a perfect system, it still won't work."
And:
More people have applied to live on Mars than have signed up for Obamacare http://t.co/eVJXhsG0kS cc @ezraklein

ObamaCare Website Wasn't Tested Until a Week Before Deployment
and I think to myself, the only difference in the two systems is that one is being utilized by a person the media likes and the other was being utilized by a person the media didn't want. I wonder if that was the very first hint that some in the republican party would rather lose than not have their candidate win. That a schism was coming.

June 2012 was when Roberts spit on the Constitution and declared 0bamacare Constitutional--and no one on earth thought that would ever happen.
And November 2012 because I don't think anyone seriously thought 0bama would be reelected.

There's been actual test deployment experiments done on reserve parachutes that remained packed and undisturbed for extended periods...like 20 years and more.
They all worked and deployed properly even though they'd been sitting for decades.
The FAA remained unmoved by that data when people tried to get the repack interval extended to 6mo or a year. I think military reserve parachutes use the 6mo interval because they're exempt from FAA regs.

152...I think the don't have to file lower bound is somewhere around the EZ's "standard" deduction amount -- ~$5k/yr.
If so...then people who aren't on the tax rolls aren't "poor enough" to qualify for those Obamacare subsidies.

The scariest reserve pack jobs I've ever seen taken apart in a loft were those on visiting European jumpers rigs.
Shit looked like laundry stuffed in a sack, and one still had a rigger's packing pin tool jammed in the closing loop that would have prevented deployment (a guaranteed fatality had the owner ever had to use their reserve)

It takes WordPress more than a week to test even an incremental update of its blogging system, and that's a (mostly-)free platform, and when they have a major release set, they send out multiple release candidates after the official beta-test period.

U.S. President Barack Obama held at 05 May be a hard speech to a graduating class at the Ohio State University in Ohio Stadium, Columbus. A part of this speech was particularly interesting, as Obama noted that one should not listen to the voices that continually warn against the government and against the tyranny that already "around the corner" lurking. "You should reject those voices," urged the President.

There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute,
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratroopers suit,
He was a mess, they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
He ain't gonna jump no more.
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more!

This is important -- do not trust WND or blogs (other than LGF) to tell you the truth about bills under consideration. ALWAYS go to the source and read it for yourself. There's so much crap being floated out there it's getting ridiculous.

Anyone remember the Lotus 3.0 release?
They insisted everything was fine and all was on schedule...
...then a week before GA announced a ONE YEAR SLIP, which was exactly what I'd been predicting. A friend who was a stock broker following Lotus at the time thought I was fucking Nostradamus for calling that one.
I called the dBase IV and OS/2 2.0 release debacles dead on the money too (although I was working with inside info on the OS/2 release)

The transport engineer thinks, "Hey, this is Penguin, he probably doesn't know anything about how much things cost. So I'll charge him a lot for the seat."
So the transport engineer says, "That'll be six thousand dollars."
The Penguin hands over its six thousand dollars and boards the shuttle.
So, after the Penguin pays the exorbitant bill and takes his seat, the transport engineer says, "You know, we don't get many Penguins in here."
And the Penguin says, "You will. The other penguins haven't received their health insurance bill yet!"

Never heard of that one, but it sounds like a great prayer. Who would have imagined that it could be granted, and it would still not be enough. If a clown trips over his own oversized shoes, and the media doesn't report it, does he ever get ridiculed?

A common ploy is to do a "testcase review" looking for redundant variations and things "covered elsewhere". Then you just declare a big chunk of failed variations redundant (preferably those with lots of other defects hiding behind them), remove them from the suite, and suddenly your "pass rate" skyrockets up to the point where management is getting comfortable with shipping it.
This ain't my first rodeo either ;->
