Okay So Here's a Funny One
— Ace

Stompenating: The Podcast is up!

Back to the post:

Megyn Kelly's show blew out Maddow's on "The Demo" -- the only demo advertisers really care about, adults 25-54.

But the night before, Maddow had edged Kelly on The Demo.

Phil Griffin, president or something of MSNBC, wants Fox's ratings investigated.

Well, by Nielsen, anyway.

Fun stuff from Twitchy.

"Tuesday -- you guys should be doing some investigations; I have never seen it in all my years of cable -- same overnight, same everything. And they doubled their ratings in a day? It is Unpossible." Griffin continued, "I have never seen it. They did election-night numbers in the demo Tuesday."

Griffin spoke a verbal typo, saying "impossible." I have changed it to what he clearly meant, "Unpossible."

...

At 9 p.m. on Monday, MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show beat Fox News' new The Kelly File, hosted by Megyn Kelly, by a slim 10,000 viewers in the key demo.

By Tuesday, though, Fox News was back to its dominant self, with 573,000 in the key demo compared with 261,000 for MSNBC between the hours of 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Perhaps most dramatically, Kelly's narrow loss to Rachel Maddow from a night earlier was significantly reversed, with Kelly drawing an audience of 623,000 in the key demo compared with Maddow's 291,000.

Nielsen has not yet responded to Griffin's remarks.

Oh, and here's something else: It appears that someone named Bill Weir, formerly a host on Nightline, has been promised a 9 PM show on CNN.

Wait a minute, that's Unpossible too. Doesn't CNN know that Piers Morgan already hosts a 9 PM show on CNN??!

We'll have to see what these mysterious signals mean.

Because right now I can't make any sense of it at all! You can't have two shows at the same time on the same channel!

That's just crazy!

Oh well, that's showbiz for ya!

...

Update: Earlier I asked "Why do they say adults 25-54? Why not just '25-54'?"

It's a pretty obvious answer I feel stupid for not knowing: Because they could also say "Men 25-54" or "Women 25-54." Adults means both.

Thanks to @drewmtips for making me feel dumb.

9 Hopefully, this will be a turning point in US history where the majority of citizens finally realize the truth that Republicans are unpatriotic.  They care more about being "right" and "winning" even if it means using dirty tricks, unsportsmanly-like conduct, hurting the economy.

I want cut the size of government
I want to reduce spending
I want everyone to work and to reduce/eliminate handouts, freebies, etc

10 So Fox beats MSNBC night after night then after MSNBC wins one night and it reverts back, and that's fishy to Griffin? It's fishy they won the one night based on history and brain cells.

So I'm flipping channels and I don't remember why but I hovered on MSNBC for a moment (only a moment.)

Chris Hayes was on.

My wife turns to me and goes "wow, Rachel Maddow seems to be looking a bit better these days."

Tea Party secedes from Republican Party

/snip

For nearly 150 years, there was something in America called the Republican Party. It was far from perfect. It made mistakes. But it was predictable; when it was in power, you knew, for the most part, what you were getting.

Cut to now and things look mighty different. The Republican Party today is, as political scholars Thomas E. Mann and Norman J. Ornstein put it, “an insurgent outlier in American politics . . . ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.” But, to borrow the title of Mann and Ornstein’s recent book, it’s even worse than it looks. There’s the Tea Party and then there’s a rump of spineless moderates. The GOP, quite simply, has been split in two.

/end snip.

There yeh go, quislings. The destructionists and their fellow travelers back you fully and completely.

Of course a lot of people missed Megyn Kelly's first show because they didn't know it was on.  Then all their friends told them how awesome she was and they tuned it for the second show.

Pretty simple.

Amazing how everything Liberal fails for lack of interest except for election day where they all magically appear.  Really makes one wonder about some tabulation hack action.

Alright, home from my last day at the previous employer (and client, too).  New job starts Monday.

Which means I'll miss you morons during the day, and have to get on the ONT sometimes.

Things like that are why I think most political consultants are really Dems purposely screwing up things for the Repubs.

Then again, he could just be really big dumbass.

203 The "man the mother was seeing" that killed AP's kid is in a shitload of trouble. He is from my hometown (little town of 800) I use to work for his parents. This isn't the first time he has been in trouble with the law. He could and should have done jail time in the past and this could have been avoided.

204 News from the wasteland: one of the court clerks is real big on swimming. She and her husband hired some hot shot coach to fly on from Australia and they would spend a week swimming Lake Powell. (I don't know well known Lake Powell is but it is beautiful and it is world famous around here.) Surprise! Lake Powell is a federal park so . . . .

206 @148 So LIVS turn to MSNBC and think what they're seeing is unbiased, impartial analysis.

Low-information voters don't get their news from watching any of the news channels, but from comedians and pop culture.

Anybody who watches MSNBC is probably pretty interested in the news and politics, and therefore probably not a low-information voter.

Unless, that is, the person was a high-information voter before they started watching MSNBC.

Posted by: Joshua at October 11, 2013 06:18 PM (oCZ4e) _____________ Well maybe not full on LIV, but MIV (mid level Information Voters). They know sorta kinda what's going on but not the details. For instance they know there is a govt shutdown and they know it has something to do with Obamacare. They tune in to MSNBC and then "learn" the shutdown is due to Republicans being Klansmen who hate Barrack because he's black and also want to kill sick children.
